  • @girlygirl8474 I know exactly what you mean, I hate when people ask me "what are you" because from my experience when I told them they would use it against me calling me a "communist" or "chink" or something. I got smart and started telling them "I don't know" and it shuts them up really fast. Now instead of making racist comments they spend all their time trying to figure out if I'm native American, asian, spanish and they just give up. Its awesome!

  • some halfsy chinks are wierd lookin but most just look like spics

  • I'm disappointed that you guys only interviewed kids who identified only with their caucasian side. I was largely the opposite, as I did grow up mostly in Asia. We do exist you know..

  • @lanarei Check out our page. It features hapas of half Asian/half White background and many identify with their Asian side!

  • Sir at 04:45, you're not white either. The closest one to white is the lady at 03:20, skimo-like you know.....

  • Most of them have Asian last names. That's dif.

  • @HapaUnited Not really more white cunts are opening up for the eggroll than ever

  • @ATLnyuckanumberone Lol you're stupid.

  • thumbs up if you're 100% human

  • ya im half chinese and half white so people always go so do you like bow at ddinner or like bob your head alot? i was like wtf motherfucker im the shit

  • I'm half Asian and half White and i go to a small school and there's only one other full asian girl. and the rest of the people are white. I feel like i don't fit in. I don't have many friends i'm more on the loser side.. :( i sometimes i feel like that because of my race. And sometimes i do wish i was white. and i really hate it when people make asian jokes and stuff like that, it makes me want to be white even more. :(

  • @jessegirl147 Listen to K-pop, J-rock, or watch Korean dramas/movies. They might help with appreciating your Asian side. You have more culture in you than probably half the people in your school. BTW, where do you live? :O

  • I am half Vietnamese and half caucasion and growing up in an all white neighborhood was tough because rascism was everywhere. Sure I had alot of friends and I was extremely popular but I was never as welcomed in with the whites as I am with the asians. When I meet other mixed people we always bond because they to know what its like being isolated. To all my mixed friends out there "hello".

  • I love being half Asian. I feel like I am embracing two different cultures, but I do feel disconnect to my Chinese side. I feel like I've lost a lot of my culture. When I'm with my caucasian father's family, I don't really look like anyone else, and when I'm with my Chinese family, I don't look like any of them either. I look like my parents I guess. Unless someone else is half Asian, people think I'm either just white or I'm Hispanic. It's nice to hear what other people like me have to say.

  • I noticed that everyone here is from NY or the West Coast. I'm a white southerner w/ a Vietnamese girlfriend, and I know lots of mixed asian/white people and couples. It's not anymore taboo here than it is anywhere else. The finger's always pointed at the south as backwards, but it's too easy, and inaccurate.

  • @candycorn156,I'm also an Asian brasilian,so that makes two of us,I get asked all day long"where are you from?",or you are...?annoying n never ends

  • I think it's funny that people make a big deal about when a person is half Asian, when someone is, say, half Mexican/half White (that would be me xD) no one makes a big deal about it. xD I think it would be cool to be half Asian. :3 I love all kinds of Asian cultures.

  • @ForeverCellist Mexican isn't a race.

  • @jhybr1d

    Not the point.

  • 100% Humanoid.

  • half indonesian, half dutch(white)

  • i'm half chinese and half white, I can totally relate to the whole "where are you from?" issue

  • im half indonesian half polish/irish

  • I'm Filipino, Irish, Polish, and Native American. Most of my ancestors were mixed too. When people first talk to me, they either think I'm Mexican, or just plain White. Plus it kinda sucks how people say " Oh! You don't even look Asian!!"

  • 1:16 looks totally Asian:)

  • I'm half Mexican, Japanese, and american. :)

  • Question... I'm white and my boyfriend is Asian (Though I think of him as just American, since he has never even been to Asia before). My family has been trying to give me reasons that I shouldn't marry him and they say that it's not fair to the children since they may have identity issues and such. But I really love my boyfriend and I know he will make an amazing father one day. I want to hear from all the "hapas" out there. What advice would you give me?

  • @Sarhbearki Im half white, half chinese and even though growing up i did sometimes have identitie issues its nothing to worry about. Infact i felt "special" :D in a cool way. Some ppl may feel more like one race compared to the other, but in general, growing up, i hardly ever though about it. I mean, even chinese ppl who grew up in america may have identity issues, eg they probably feel more american than chinese. But my advice would be - Go for it! half asian kids r so cute >.< :)

  • @Sarhbearki If I was you,I wouldn't give a fuck about the advice of your family. It's your own relationship, they don't have to decide about it.I'm a white french, my best friend is asian,he prefers dating with white women and I see nothing wrong about it.And with or without different race, people always find to say something about the physical of the others.PS:I know that, being totally white, your post wasn't dedicated to me,but despite that,I wanted to answer. Sorry for my bad english

  • @Sarhbearki white women asian men have a 70% percent divorce rate. they have a good reason to be affraid for you

  • Very eye-opening video. I'm an American-born Chinese, speaks fluent Cantonese and grew up in white surburbia. Often people were surprised that I either didn't have a foreign accent or also surprised that I could speak Chinese. I can't imagine the experiences hapas must come across.

  • filiphinos actually arent full asian so if your half filiphino technically your only 1/4 asian

  • @MrInception12 Are you saying that filipinos are half white?

  • @mrken001 yes

  • @MrInception12 The filopines are no where near europe. how is that possible? dont tell me its due to past european colonization.

  • @MrInception12 Slightly false. If you're filipino you automatically have a little bit of spanish blood in you, but its so slight that no one really counts it. My mom is filipino and she's less than 5% spanish.

  • All the mistakes is purely down to ignorance.I live in England, and im half English, half Filipino. people think, Im Chinese, Mexican, ect ect.. Over here there are not many Filipino nor Asians, so they really have nothing to go by, so they just stereotype.I learn to live with it, although it annoys the hell out of me sometimes. But i learn to get over it. :D

  • @captureedx7 What part of England are you from?

Cos where I am, the majority of asian people you'll see are half Filipino half white.

I'm half Thai and everyone comes up to me like 'are you Filipino?!' Haha

  • @franalam Im from Bristol, where abouts you from?, wish it was more like that here Lol. I barely see halfs . :L

  • Comment removed

  • I'm half Chinese and Irish/English, but people often mistake me for being Persian or Japanese

  • The girls are all so pretty but the guys are just.... ugly

  • i'm half chinese and half mexican, with a little bit of native american. :)

  • Oh and you know what they say., mixed races with asian are the most beautiful kids. I heard that on the news one day and I was like yupp :))))

  • I'm half asian and half white. Omg everyone always says "what are you" and it gets annoying. I feel like that's not the first thing they should ask you, but it always is. I'm creative with my answers though depending on the situation . :)

  • Im like the only asian brasilian lol

  • I'm half Chinese half Fijian. Hispanic people look at me and think I'm Dominican, White people look at me and think I'm Mexican, and Asian people look at me like wtf what are you!!

  • @fijimonster you are a wonderful, unique human being, just give that look and u be fine in life! Today, confidence is everything. Sometimes I'd say unfortunately ;-)

  • @fijimonster Being the only thing close to asian in school People looked at me oddly too and constantly asked what was I? One of my old friends friend said -What are you?- me: what do you mean? Guy: Well you're white but then again you're not.... Me.... oh wow

  • l'm also half Asian and half White and l live in Netherlands (born and raised also). Talking about the "What are you?" part.. l remember being cashier at my side job l also had a customer once that asked me "Where are you from?" and l was like "Erhmm from the Netherlands?!". Very strange, as mixed people are very common here, therefore most people don't ask that sort of stuff. But she spoke in English so l guess it was a foreigner that wasn't used to seeing mixed people or something.

  • im half asian and it's annoying because when im in asia they all say OMG you are so white -_- and when im in europe they all say WOW you are so asian -_-

  • Damn.... I need to marry Asian genes and have mixed babies. I NEED. I WANNA ONE. I wannna it. i wannna it.

  • some of them look Messican...LOL

  • I'm white and my wife Chinese. . so if we have a child. . do you guys think it would be cool to let the kid live in China until they are highschool age? Let them get both cultures and languages in their blood.

  • @MrDanielTynan If you'd like your young man to grow up a feminine-crook, or your little girl to grow up a male-bitch, either with inhumane and even atrocious views on liberty, life, justice and many others, China would be an execellent choice, a country I've been for a years exchange and a most horribly oppressive and corrupt system I've experienced (I'm from Europe and I live in California now :-).

    But purely advice.

  • I am half asian but I look mostly white,Some people can tell I have asian blood and some people think I am just white. I would meet a lot of people who would think I was white and would make racist comments about other asians in front of me But at the same time I went to school with 60% asians and a lot of them (not all)wouldn't make friends with nonasians and would be very rude and only speak their own language to talk about a person right in front of them and that person would be aware of this

  • "When you walk in with parents that are mixed races, people notice"

    That is unbelievably true.

I also completely agree about how annoying it is when people ask what I am. I've gotten used to it... but I hate having to explain myself to people sometimes.

  • im half chinese and i was the only asian kid in my entire grade during elementary school.

  • Halfies can look exotic or plain. Sarah Wong is right down the middle. She doesn't look like one race or the other. A true mutt. Cody Chin looks more asian than white. Same w Jean Goto. David Yim looks a little more asian than he does white. Marisa is a true exotic. She really looks like 2-5 races blended into one.

  • There's a text ad that plays at the beginning of this for me that says "Say No to Frizzy Hair"

  • the guy in the green shirt is so hot!

  • My dad's Asian and my mom is white.

  • @vacantidentity U have been lucky then to have a good mix, not every mix is going to have $ come their way! Do you enjoy having girls like you based on your looks or would you rather have someone like you for the good upbring that you had? Being mixed has its downside as well, not everyone has nonracist relatives who accept them. You have struck gold, but on a serious note, i have spoken to more than a few people who have suffered from being mixed and looks don't always come in the cards

  • @babybunnies Yes I do enjoy the notion that girls like the way I look. I dont define myself by that, but I can comfortably say I enjoy it. And after getting 2 know them, its up to them to decide if they like me for more substantial reasons. If not then it wouldnt last anyways. I too have endured racism by people who r ignorant to things outside of their realm of comfort. -Doesn't bother me. Once you embrace your identity & see it as a plus, you will come to love who you are rather than deny it.

  • I'm Thai/white. I never felt uncomfortable even in the south. I'm from NC my bro, Savanna GA and my dad (white) from Nashville. It was always cool when people go "what are you? like Italian or something." hahaha. Thats another thing everyone in this video looks more Asian then me and my brother.

  • Oh and also, "What are you?" in my opinion, isn't as bad as, "Where are you FROOOOOM?" .. I just wanna say "Uuuh I'm from here?!" lol

  • I'm half-Korean, half-Canadian :-)

I love it. I've learned to embrace it now. It makes me unique and it's who I am :-) The identity thing depends on your age or environment. If you live in a "Western" country, people are always going to accept you more the more "Western" you look, dress, behave etc. Which is sad but that's the way society is. I used to deal with racism more when I was younger, "nerdier" and had darker hair. At the end of the day I just embrace the cultural "mix" that I am :-)

  • half greek half korean!! braaaap!!

  • Wow. No matter what anyone says, the issue of race never goes away. Never!

  • go half japanese!!!

  • the guy in the green shirt reminds me of Clark Kent

  • LOL, I 've heard "what are you" all my life.

  • Growing up in a real white, affluent, and prejudiced suburban area, i can say its hard at least for me being half asian. Theres always this feeling like u dont really fit in and ur that different "asian" guy. At times it can be looked down upon and u can feel the sort of disconnect from everyone else. I havent really found a true place yet as far as relationships with other people go but heres hoping for the future.

  • @TheOneAndOnly699 Try the Bay Area. Tons of hapas. It's like its own race there.

  • 5:02 azn tv show

  • RACISM will always be an issue! I am 1/2 and my asian side disowned me from birth.I never had grandparents and have been made fun of growing up. I did not quite fit in with ASIAN side and not quite the WHITE side, but felt much more comfortable being WHITE. I DO NOT recommend mixing all different races together bec. it caused IDENTITY confusion to the child. If there is any suffering, at the end it is the CHILD who was helpless being born into unwanted circumstances!

  • @babybunnies I hope that my half asian children do not have to experience this. Their asian family adores them, as does my side of the family.

  • @ayarper @ayarper like Sandinyourshoes says,

I think you hit the nail on the head. Many people who are mixed claim they are "cool" with it, but then they get offended so easily when someone asks them questions such as, "What are you?" If one looks like a member of a certain race, then those issues will exist. Good luck!

  • @babybunnies To classify a race of people as "the smartest people" is kind of ignorant. WWII era is tiny within the scope of human history. As for the being mixed comment - are U mixed? Because I am (Asian/White), & it's been greatly beneficial for me. I love when people ask what I am. It serves as a conversation starter. It's helped me get jobs (= money), new friendships (= connections), and girls (= well, u figure this one out). Maybe in Asia mixed people are treated badly? But here it's good

  • @vacantidentity sorry, but the fact is true, europeans are the smarter people, for they are the ones who started the game of being the first 'first developed" country in the world. Asians were trying to catch up due to the fact that they are rabbits and can't stop breeding so they have to be smarter to keep up with the competition with the asian population. Asians other than pushing themselves academically, they are not wise in family life. I know this is based on my interviews with other asians

  • @babybunnies I just read ur above comment -that u r mixed, & bitter towards ur Asian side, which explains why u seek acceptance on ur White side. Trying to insult Asians by calling them "rabbits" is ironic when ur youtube handle is "baby bunnies". First of all Europe is not a country. And If that is a fact, then back it up with evidence. Question: What 3 things are fundamental in forming a "developed country"? Math, Commerce, & Written Language. Egypt had all 3 circa 3000 BC. (Long b4 Europe)

  • @vacantidentity EUROPE IS A CONTINENT!! I NEVER said it is a ''country''! And for your information, my username has NOTHING to do with ethnicity. I know of males mixed race who are 5'4 and less and if that was you, i don't know if you would be speaking what you said in the last few comments. How would you like to be 5'2?? hmm, If you also listen well enough, you can hear that one of the interviewees relates better to the white side and 'disown' the asian side. Listen to the video again!

  • @babybunnies "europeans are the smarter people, for they are the ones who started the game of being the first 'first developed" country in the world. " - Quote from you.

  • @babybunnies, I think you hit the nail on the head. Many people who are mixed claim they are "cool" with it, but then they get offended so easily when someone asks them questions such as, "What are you?" If one looks like a member of a certain race, then those issues will exist. The real pressure comes when someone speaks to that person in a foreign language, assuming that he or she can speak it based on the way he looks! That can be very hard to handle.

  • does anyone else get annoyed when strangers say, "really? you dont look chinese?"... even though im the spitting image of my oriental father. the only thing that i have from my white side are my tits! ive noticed that most white ppl cant tell im mixed, but afro amers can pick it up pronto.

  • @DAISYDUKESnRAINBOOTS Yeah...I go to a private prep school (so like everyone's white). I can tell a hapa right away but all my friends just know asian or white

  • im half oriental: chinese and mongolian my mother is white and straight up redneck, but i grew up with my dad and stepmom who are both full oriental living in SC and i have never gotten weird looks... none that i noticed anyway

  • oh my god, this music sounds so depressing. i feel depressed every time i hear this crouching tiger music.

  • Ching chong nip nong nong? Chopsticks anyone? Give me ma forks, I aint picking up ma food with two sticks, what do you think I am? A caveman?

  • @TheLamelyNamed Probably are inside. No one ever found 3000 year old forks in caves.

  • @pinkandblackmentos

Back then, forks are called YOUR DAMN HANDS. Ever wonder why forks look like hands with fingers? NOW YOU KNOW and knowing is HALF THE BATTLE!!! GO JOE!!!

Chip chop nong nong sticky stick? Sucky sucky 2 dollars me love u rong tyme? No thanks pal.

White people are still the dominant race of the world for a reason.

  • @TheLamelyNamed

    You are 12? 10?

Ops!!! 109...I see, that's how old you claim to be....brains probably all dust and mite infested, eh?

White people are still the dominant race? You must be retarded past the point of return. This video shows exactly how 'white' people or any other group are NO LONGER DOMINANT.

We will only get more mixed while ppl like you HIDE in fear of others being better.

Please explain your bull crap reasoning. You sad sad person....

  • @TheLamelyNamed Lol. You have a lot of pertinent and impacting information to share here. You seem like a person who is going to go really far in life. If Whites are the dominant race, your dumb ass must be anything other than white. And here's a quick history lesson for your retarded ass: The fork was invented in the Middle East.

  • Whoah...There are really alot of people who have whores and prostitutes for mothers. For some reason many of them have their mother's family names. Probably because their white daddies abandoned them for other whores that sell out.

  • @Chumandoo3

most of the people in this video have asian dads except for the girl with curly hair

  • Sheesh. Come to Hawai`i. You wouldn't stand out one bit.

  • i feel at home with my nigerian side. im half nigerian half indian (not native american those arent indians lol)

  • @jethearts yea khmer pride!!!

  • I would say rep the culture u grew up with.

  • I'm half japanese and half white . I speak both japanese and english. I'm too asian for the white kids and too white for the asian kids . Identity issues are the worst for biracial kids ..

  • @KawaiiAsian00 "I'm too asian for the white kids and too white for the asian kids" lol this is something i say often...

  • @KawaiiAsian00 Same here. I speak both Japanese and English and always thinking about who I am? What is my identity? Well, now I really don't care:)

  • @KawaiiAsian00 I get you man. Korean and White here.

  • @KawaiiAsian00 Totally agree with this! Am Thai/British and speak both languages. In Thailand, they call us 'half child' translated. I feel the same! Can't identify fully with either.

  • @KawaiiAsian00 Sorry 2 hear that. But I think ur ID issues may be specific to u. Im Asian/White & I love it. I find that I get accepted by both sides. Each likes the fact that I'm part of their race, but at the same time I bring another ethnic influence to the friendship. Not sure if ur guy or girl, but as a "hapa" guy, I also love the fact that I can date both Asian & White girls np -some prefer Asian guys, some prefer White, and I can fall in to both categories. Thanks Mom n Dad!

  • @KawaiiAsian00 thats cool, wanna hang out...

  • @KawaiiAsian00 I feel exactly the same. I'm half Japanese and half Spanish. People often mistake me for being white, and i never really had too many Asian friends.

  • @KawaiiAsian00 it's really aggreviating is it? :-/

  • @KawaiiAsian00 Totally.

  • I hate white people

  • @mathewheffley121 cant tell if you're trolling or stupid

  • I am half asian and half hispanic. Hmong and Panamanian. I want to find out more of my hmong side.

  • I love being asked what are you!? I've been asked if I was half Italian or half Mexican. Being American most of us are mixed and I love that. I loved standing out in family photos since my sister looks completely Caucasian and took after my mom's side. I don't mind people asking because race is interesting to me too. I think it's something about all of us that makes us all special and unique. What we are is always awesome to me and I am half native American if you were wondering.

  • @Sweettart9467

No sorry most are not mixed.

  • im half chinese/half white...my mom is asian, dad is white.....and I can't tell you how many times ill be with my dad and we get asked if we are a couple! Its so annoying. and when i was really little people would ask if i was adopted!

  • @MoreThanJustSkinDeep my mum is filipino and my dad is white. when i was young, people too thought that i was adopted and one person even went to ask my mum if she was a maid.

  • @kimmmmm04 ugh that's ridiculous! I work at a plce where i give tours to pretty large groups of people... and people ask me almost every day "What are you?".....and I tell them "I'm half chinese and half white"...they always ask "Then why are you so tall?" ...I'm like..."because of my DNA?" lolol

  • It does not really help to claim being “just half Asian” when one looks mostly if not entirely Asian. Therefore, the fellow who mentioned how having parents of very different backgrounds makes people notice them made an excellent point. We cannot act like it makes no difference, because it always does. However, some people get too defensive about it. Why? If mom is Japanese, for example, and if one identifies with it, then why not feel free to explore the language and culture of Japan?

  • me and 3:10-3:27 is exactly the same!

  • This Russian guy is the only cool person in this video. Don't give a shit about the Anglish (or Irish or Scottish) racism in USA or about Anglish this language itself.

    It's not worth your nobility.

  • The Russian guy is cool. Learn your mother-tongue Russian and welcome to Russia!

  • @mexicankunggpao never said it was a race

  • imi 25% white and rest asian, im glad though that i look more asian.

  • @SyrenniaLestrange Inbred?

I'm Eurasian, fool, and it's not an opinion. Blacks have the lowest average IQ of any race on the planet, by a mile actually. Hybridization will simply result in the mean average IQ expressing itself in the offspring, as studies have demonstrated in the United States. The repulsive black phenotype typically dominates in any hybrid offspring, and the low black IQ will produce a child with a low IQ.

Just facts, don't kill the messenger

  • @Ironzealot7531 Your attempts to berate the so called "blacks" is laughable... The low IQ scores you're referring to are the exception and NOT the rule amongst "black" Americans. The low IQ scores from "black" Americans are due to a CULTURE of defunct educational values. In other countries, higher IQ scores are a direct result of instilling educational values. It's CULTURE not RACE! BTW: Most blacks have mitochondrial DNA that shows that YOU may be closely related to them! Welcome to the family!

  • @skittles4lif how cliche

you're wrong I'm afraid. Other countries do not, in fact, have black populations with higher average IQ's. In fact, what's remarkable about black IQ scores and patterns of criminality, is the universality of these statistics. Regardless of environment or upbringing, black IQ averages remain largely the same, as do levels of criminality. Blacks also have brains that are literally smaller than the brains of non-africans. 5-6 cubic inches on average.

  • @Ironzealot7531 Well, I guess since you typed it then it MUST be fact! It's all in the mitochondrial DNA... or maybe that statement is too far above your IQ level to grasp? How do you argue with a Black baboon (like me) on the internet, who's IQ is obviously inferior to yours? Pretty ignorant on your part... I guess we'll agree to disagree. Now let's hope that I can turn the computer on and off without some assistance! LOL!

  • @skittles4lif I tried to send you an a longer message full of links and scientific references, but I could not. You have "friend lock" or some such option toggled and I therefore cannot send you my message.

If you fear the truth, then continue to live in blissful ignorance. If not, remove your lock and I'll send you the message.

  • @Ironzealot7531 Asians have the smallest head circumference and brain size of any race, but have by far the highest IQ average. Head size has nothing to do with intelligence. Asians have higher IQ's because of the cultural emphasis on education. Africans have a different culture, and IQ test are known to be culturally biased and are also known to only test certain types of intelligence. They are very, very limited. China which has the highest IQ average has very few innovations.

  • @ayarper How I see things is that the smartest people are the europeans. They seem to be the ones with best quality and innovation of products. Although asians are hard working, they have to be to keep up being the most populated countries in the world to live and survive in that area of the world. Without the European thinking WW 2 would of not ended as quickly, etc. It has been documented on this subject.

Being mixed asian has not real benefits long term.

  • @ayarper that's completely wrong actually

East asians have the LARGEST documented average brain size of any racial group. The average asian brain is 1 cubic inch larger than the average caucasian brain, and 6 cubic inches larger than the average negroid brain.

  • @Ironzealot7531 that's right. I was wrong. I looked it up. I was just going by what I had been told by my pediatrician. He was surprised that the size of my kids heads were so large that they were off the chart, being that they're half Asian. Anyhow, my Asian husbands head is smaller then mine. LOL.

  • @SyrenniaLestrange because half blacks are ugly as fuck

and stupid to boot. They inherited baboon facial features and low IQs from their black parents

  • I bet at least 85% of these people have white father's.This is something that my cousin and I have talked about before. His mom is Asian and father whom is my uncle is white .On the flip side my mom is white and father is Latino.Asians have the most unbalanced interracial pairings in terms of gender.

  • @Johnnybomb1 Four out of the five half-Asians in this video have Asian father and white mother.

Asian Americans have the most unbalance interracial pairings because 70 percent of them are first-generation immigrants. After the first generation, about the same percentage of Asian American males and females marry whites; and a higher percentage (twice as much) of America-born/raised Asian men than black men marry white women. You can google the statistics yourself.

  • @ktchong That's interesting.

  • @ktchong the politically correct definition of asian american is someone who is a second-generation immigrant of asia.

  • @nacaaswanacas, it is normal for them to NEVER accept it. They see it as lowering themselves in social rank.

  • i get a lot of attention for looking half asian. i guess i picked up both sides physically. i have brown hair and hazel eyes, but my features are kind of mostly asian, but kind of white... i dunno. and what annoys me is that i can relate mostly to my white side, i dont know my asian language or anything, and that frustrates me, i dont even like the food...

  • @yafywbh

  • I notice that 3 out of 5 of them have asian last names. That is quite unusual, as it is usually the white males that salivate like monkeys after beautiful asian women not the other way around. Asian guys usually have better taste than to go after fat dumb evil slobs that most white women are.
