  • @SimpleLittlePleasues i love this i am so jealous of ur skill also i subscribed

  • what brand of nail polish is best to use ?? btw i love that design =)

  • @Ladiidelaghetto there really isn't a best brand, every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well – the colors I use are always listed in the information box. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues thanks=)

  • Where do you get the nail polish? I got mine from my barber shop person! She lets me have all the china glaze! so where did you get your nail polish

  • @funny10140 I usually get china glaze from sallys, ulta or online =)

  • Woman?

  • @Inyourfacebro obviously, I show my face in many vids

  • @Inyourfacebro This is what i call an ignorant comment -_-

  • Most of the times when I do water marble when I draw my design the polish spreads and ruins everything any idea

  • @Sam35276 I'm not sure I understand your question - the polish should already have spread before you do your design ?

  • Oh gosh! mines always mess up :(

  • I love your videos, they are amazing.. I have really short nails, so would water marbling work well on short nails, or would you suggest growing them out? :)

  • @hopemilam014 if you have short nails you just get less of the design, so it's very important where you dip your nail - check out my short nails marble with my mom as hand model for some tips =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Thank you so much! :) I am going to try it later! :)

  • Love your work Collette im subscribed and your my idol love you you got me into water marbling and i love it so thanks

  • Did you paint your nails white first? Love your tutorial, gonna try it out for the first time!

  • @clarisse420 yes, although it doesn't have to be white I always recommend a base color =)

  • Thanks and Happy NEW YEAR 2012

  • dear colette,

your channel has really helped me with my nails and new tips to do them.

you have been such a help , my question is -what gave you the idea to do a channel on nails like was it a passion for you or did a friend tell you also i waanna know which brand of nail polish is the best or you like thee most thx write back soon

  • @anniehotty5551 I had a few followers on my blog request tutorials, so I started my youtube channel =) I really don't have a favorite brand, I'll buy anything that has a color I like =)

  • and the colors are not spreading :(((

  • hi dear whats up :)

i follow the steps in the video but it didnt work at all . i brought mineral water and didnt work pleaaaaseeee advise me ASAP :)

  • @TheDooooodyyyyy unfortunately all colors work - mineral should be pretty similar to filtered, but was it room temperature?

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues yup it was at room temperature :)

  • @TheDooooodyyyyy then it's probably the polish, it takes a lot of trial & error to find the best ones =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues thankkk youuuuuuuuuuu , and happy new year to you and ur family have fun :)

  • how many nail polishes do you have ..?

  • @chunkeymonkey742 over 1600 bottles

  • u make ur nail polish drop quickly mine takes 30 secs to drop...how do u do it

  • @marrom71 it just has to do with how much polish you get on the brush =)

  • Soo i know your nails are real, but im curious, what brand of acrylic nails would you reccomend?

  • @ashleighobrien27 I have no idea what brands there even are LOL =)

  • @ashleighobrien27 I wear acrylic nails and I would reccomend kiss

  • there is only water ?

  • @Mllenut room temperature filtered water =)

  • do you have to use a base coat for this

  • @1MissSassy it’s not required, but I always recommend a base coat & also a base color because it helps the marble colors be more opaque & vibrant =)

  • how is it possible that you have everywhere totaly perfect design? If I iry it it's not so much cute as yours!;o)

  • @angelsandy666 I have a lot of practice =)

  • You are touching water that drips? (:

  • @THEnextGIRLofBIEBER I'm not sure I understand your question, but it's the polish that drips =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues

    Google Translate: \

    You touch the water? D:

  • @THEnextGIRLofBIEBER not with the brush no, the polish should drip off of the brush by itself =)

  • Can you please do a purple water marble for me please?

  • @PrincessGirl516 I have several marbles that use purple & an all purple one in my addicted to color series =)

  • Amazing!

  • i tried this but the colours dont spread out as much. any advice?

  • @jade9540 Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • Where did you get the tronica collection(Or watever that collection is called]? Was it limited edition?

  • @naildesigner50 i got it at sallys but it was limited edition =)

  • Awesome

  • its so weird how the colours on the water are light but when its on your nail it looks darker i wish we could be friends

  • which nailpolish drys slower?

  • @guyanaman232 the colors I use are always listed in the information box - other than that you just have to experiment & see =)

  • Looks awesome!

  • That is so super cool

  • This is the most beautiful design you've ever made :)

  • how did you start this?

  • @minniimunnsterr some of my blog followers requested I do some tutorials so I made a channel =)

  • I really like this one because it's really pretty and glittery :)) and I also wanna say that I love all of your work and you have a really nice eye for water marbling and color selection

  • thumbs up if you cannot see the dislike bar! :D

  • *toes*

  • @syqadelic yes, although I haven't tried it myself =)

  • Can u do this with jet es

  • it does't work 4 me thx for nothing

    xx

  • @ClemencePoesyfan101 Are you using filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues whats filterd water is from a bottle or tap and cud it B the polish i use

  • @ClemencePoesyfan101 I get mine from a Brita pitcher. It could be the polish also =)

  • @ClemencePoesyfan101 yeah thx

  • @ClemencePoesyfan101 Doesnt work for me either.. :(

  • Stunning

  • Do u think if you shake the polish it will interfere of how it spreads?

  • @sweetnatti412 not how it spreads, but you can get bubbles if you don't give it time to settle =)

  • do yhu have to use china glaze?! or any yhud like??

  • @GenesisSuperStar You can use any brand, although not every color works =)

  • I Tried using Kleancolor Nail Lacquer i bought it in jewelry box and it doesn't work

im going to try diffrent ones case all i have is nail polishes from jewelry Box :?

  • @23greenqueen also be sure to use filtered water - You can use any brand of polish, although not every color works =)

  • It looks soo cute >"<

  • CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A NAIL POLISH COLLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @PurplePandaGirl357 There are some pics on my blog =) I don’t know when I’ll get to a vid

  • That was wicked! I'm so going to try this some day. I was just amazed when you pulled your nails out of the water. Wow!

  • Can you use this technique with one color also, and have good (dark) results?

  • @laurkr I kind of doubt it - that's why I always use a base color when marbling, otherwise the results are usually very sheer =)

  • Gorgeous colors :)

  • Thank u

  • @Simple Little Pleasure witch store can you get china glaze at

  • @cutenail100 it's available at Sallys, Ulta & online =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues I try it but my colours did not spread what are the names of the nail polish that you use ?

  • @dalena533 they're all listed in the information box =)

  • so instead of a clear code for your base you use the Wet "n" Wild French White does that help

  • @7890joanna I use a base coat also, but a solid base color helps the marble colors be more opaque & vibrant =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues thank you =)

  • do you have to put scotch tape on your skin surrounding your nail?

  • @loveeforeverr19 no, but it's a lot messier if you skip it =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues oh okay. thanks for all your help (:

  • are your nails real ?

  • @midnightzippo123 yes, my nails are natural =)

  • @sonidera98 umm, I don't think most dad do their nails LOL ... what would you consider father's day themed?

  • why orange stick? it's not orange and where do you get it? :))

  • @lizettecutey An orange stick is a wooden manicure tool, basically a long pointy stick like a big toothpick =) You can use anything with a fine point that you don't mind getting polish on. They’re available most places that sell polish, usually stocked near the files & clippers

  • how come your polish moves so easily when you touch it ??

  • @MrsBieber4ever2098 part is the filteed water, the rest is just finding the polish that dries very slowly =)

  • OMG those 4 are EXACTLY my favorite colors<3 love this ^ ^

  • @MISScrazy915 I usully just dip them out with the orange stick =)

  • Why white nails? :)

  • @yelloowkid it helps the marble colors be more vibrant =)

  • Love it!!

  • @LoveHorses88 no - There really isn't a best brand, every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • When I first started water marbling, my polish would always drop through the water and land as a tiny bead at the bottom. A friend of mine who also watches and loves your videos told me I was using to much water. I took her advice and cut styrofoam cups in half, minimizing the amount of water I used. Success! But then i see how much water you use. Do you think it makes a difference to how much water you use?

  • @TheGabice I don't think the depth of the water matters, although I do prefer asmaller surface area. Some polish sinks because it’s too dense, other times it is from dripping it from too high up, try to stay close to the surface of the water =)

  • @justcommenting11 it's on my to-do list, but I do have some pics up on my blog =)

  • Where do you get your orange sticks???

  • @THEBTRFANCLUB They’re available most places that sell polish, usually stocked near the files & clippers =)

  • mine always come out in a big clump? does that mean im doing something wrong??

  • @nadiarox100 if it's clumping it may be drying to fast, or you may be using too much polish. Keep trying different colors & maybe experiment with using fewer drops =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Ohh..Okayy! Thank you soo much! I love your videos by the way(: I always come here for my nail designsssxD<333

  • Hey Colette! I just did mine and they came out really well! Thank you so MUCH for your awesome tutorials! Please don't stop making them, I really LOVE watching you work that polish! It's amazing the results you can come up with, I linked to your blog on my blog and hope that more ladies get into this because it's so much prettier then traditional polishing. One thing, how long do you let the polish set before attempting to remove the tape and cleaning up your skin? Thanks again!

  • @ThePamster the tape can be removed wet or dry, I usually wait until most of my fingers are dry just because I can be kind of clumsy LOL. For example when I do my left hand I'll just wait until I've done all the nails before I take any of the tape off & by the time I finish my thumb the other nails are dry - and then I will do clean up at that point also =)

  • Your videos are so relaxing! I had one of the worst days EVER, then I watched your video, now I feel all better haha

  • After you take your nails put of the water, how long should you wait to apply a topcoat?

  • @chamberlainlockett just a few minutes, long enough for the design not to smear when you apply it =)

  • Hello!

    question here!

When i´m doing the bulls eye it usually works now, when i have practised a bit but when im going to draw the pattern it comes like...water or something other between the colurs. What should i do?

    xoxo

  • @MyZozzo it sounds like if you're getting gaps in the polish with water showing your polish may be drying too fast - you just have to keep experimenting with different colors to find the ones that dry slowest =)

  • You have helped me learn to marble better so much with your vids! I watch them more than once and practice... and they are starting to turn out better every time! Instead of taping, I use liquid latex to cover the area around my nails, and it works REALLY nicely!

  • what do you use for the liquid? is it just water? i tried hot, water and cold water and it wouldn't do the spreading out thing :(

  • @MoonDreamofA it's room temperature filtered water =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues oh okay :p i guess i was making to cold, and to hot, but it makes a weird film type stuff at the top. i'll try again :)

  • hola ¡¡ soy de mexico y todas tus uñas me encantan tengo un negocio de uñas y esta tecnica ha sido un exito

  • is it cheaper to get china glaze nail polish online? because at a sallys it is around 7 to 8 dollars!!! im trying konad also, so if you know if any good really thick nail polishes let me now

  • @enjigirl it is cheaper at Sallys if you sign up for their card (which is only $5.00 & then you get a $5 coupon), but it's still cheaper online, although then you usually have to pay shipping =) I do track which normal polish I've used sucessfully for Konad on my spreadsheet that's linked on my blog

  • I love your videos! I learned how to water marble by watching you :)

  • mine will never be as good as yours!

  • Seems like the hardest part is taping.

  • @DancingChakra it is a little tricky, but not too bad once you get the hang of it =) Check out my taping tutorial under the Tips & Tricks playlist

  • can u use your natural finger nails?

  • @delareeseluke my nails are natural =)

  • Do you have acrylic on your nails? or its natural

  • @sweetypiesmc1 my nails are natural =)

  • Do You always Have To Prep Your Nails With Another Colourr?

  • @DuhhILovezYhew you don't have to, but it helps the colors to be more opaque & vibrant =)

  • I LOVE YOUR NAILS!

and I tried this..but the colors don't lok the same..i mean..in the nailpolish it looks like thick colors and when i i do the marble thing and get it on my nails it looks soft..like pastel..

do i need to use a bigger drop of nailpolish?

  • @suxaniita bigger drops, or more drops - or a smaller cup will also help the colors to be more intense =)

  • how do you store your polishes?

  • @MissFroTastic I have some in plastic shoeboxes (those I haven't worn yet) but the majority of my stash is in 3 Helmer units (from Ikea) =)

  • instead of using the manicure stick that you use, i just use a piece of uncooked spaghetti split in half. it works SO WELL. (and spaghetti is easy to get haha)

  • lol i LOVEEEEEEEEEEE you videos this look is SOOOO CUTE! <3

  • Hi!!! i've been following your work a lot and i'm actually gettin good at this (not as gd as urs though) :) ...hopefully i can post a slideshow of my work so far...i got a ques though...how do u know what background to use? Sometimes i see some lovely colours and when i try them they r way too light...then i try diff backgrounds and i cant get the natural colour of the polish that i want...please help!!! thank u much :)))

  • @wellsrachael I always experiment beforehand, I usually use white or one of the marble colors =)

  • i love your videos i love doing this and i got the idea from you thank you i get so many compliments thank you so much

  • does this work with any nail polish ?

  • @BrinnasayWHATT no - every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • holy crap...what did you do? run out the second they released them and buy them all????? you are my friggin' hero. i wish I had the time and cash to do that. damn! those colours have not even been released here yet -- sheesh.

  • @tokenbabe Hehe, it was a happy accident when I stumbled on them - it did take me 3 Sallys to find all 12 =)

  • Something you may want to try for a water-marbled, truly holographic look... Try using high-contrast colors to do a base coat, then put a coat of a sheer linear holographic polish on top. I've done this with basic patterns using black and white and it comes out absolutely beautiful. It's almost a hidden pattern. Lots of fun!

  • @thelaynie sounds gorgeous!

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Awww, thank you! You can actually see a pic of it at my blog. The photo I have is using Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in Purple over basic black and white. I'd love to see a linear holo over a water marbled design, though! I haven't quite figured that one out yet!

My post is at layniefingers.blogspot.com under the tag "Hidden Nail Art." YouTube doesn't seem to want to accept a url.

  • @thelaynie it's beautiful - I would probably top with purple of course, at least my first time =)

  • wow it looks great, I love that shinny colors

  • that's amazing! did you come up with this technique by your self? or did you learn it some where?

  • @MoonDreamofA I read about it on several blogs before I started doing it myself =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues that's good that your updated :) does this technique work with all nail polish? or just china glaze?

  • @MoonDreamofA any brand, but not necessarily every color =) It takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work best.

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues well, life is like that :p trial and error. do you work as a nail art person? (manicurist-person?)

  • @MoonDreamofA no, my day job I'm in HR =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues I'm sorry but what is an HR?

  • @MoonDreamofA human resources =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Isn't that ambulance stuff? (i'm sorry i'm only 15, i don't know alot of jobs :P ) i clean stuff for my job!

  • @MoonDreamofA LOL no, human resources department at most jobs handles payroll & employee benefits, stuff like insurance & 401k =)

  • i love this! it does use alot of nail polish, but my favorite one to do are the side flowers :-) i have to do them kindof small cuz i have about a centimeter free edge but i still love trying these and i love your videos!
