  • Ray LaHood should've said Toyota's were safe when they were but he didn't - another example of NHTSA playing favourites - look at my vid on the F150 stalling for a rusty fuel pump driver - NHTSA isn't even looking at it but aftermarket suppliers are making lots of replacement parts for the rusty ones.

  • I dont really care about electric vehicles, but the infrasctructure for a gas station seems to be a lot more expensive than a pre-charged battery (or hydrogen cylinder) switcher for 6 cars or so. You can have'em in parking lots like walmart, with most of the storage underground, and more importantly, you can have this structure inside a building, while gas station take up the land for safety issues, a MAJOR cost in hi-density cities ($10-20million dollars)

  • @Krycek2008 also, since it's the machine taking out your battery/cylinder for the charged one, plate recognition or an infrared chip could identify and charge the driver, so you dont need to leave the vehicle. Remember why drive-throughs became popular?

  • 6:00 an 847% increase in sales, makes 8,47 sales for every one sold before the increase, not as stated 847 sales.

  • Chevy Volt sales were never good and in decline well before the fire prone battery was revealed.

  • @JogBird, like gas isn't fire prone! XD

  • Thumbs up if Alfa should sell cars in the US. :)

  • Some Gas Stations now have solar panels, and have Generators in case of a power outage.

  • @pelepihuamo Very very few have anything like that at all. So its all prayers from here on out for the EV drivers.

  • @RansomCowboy I've been living in AZ for 5 years, but before that I was in Los Angeles, and even then there were a lot of gas stations installing solar panels. I worked for ARCO for 5 years in the late 90's and some of our customers in the L.A. area were already adopting generators and solar panels. I don't know about other parts of the world, but in southern California there are quite a few self sufficient gas stations.

  • @pelepihuamo Ok, if you are talking about California, than yeah, sure. Everyone is so scared of "Global Warming" in California, that they will do everything they can to stay "clean" and "Eco-friendly". But, in the real world, we know that the "Global Warming" thing, is just a political scare, and a great opportunity for business (scare people into more expensive cars, lights, building structures, and many other detailed items that cost big bucks).

  • @RansomCowboy Yeah California is home of the richest Tree Huggers, so there is sure someone out there that would want to take advantage of that, selling them new technologies. I am not an eco friendly person, and drive an old car with a big V8, but for those that have the money to spend on being green, there is nothing we can do, but it is for sure better for the economy.

  • @pelepihuamo More fossil fuels for the rest of us

  • @jason01020 You got that right Buddy. I hate hybrids and would rather use public transportation than drive a prius.

  • I love my chevy volt It's the best car I have ever driven. It has tremendous linear acceleration. It acceleration is similar to a jet airplane. I keep up with the 85 mph freeway traffic in LA with ease. It burns NO gas for 35 miles and is emission free. I hope to obtain a car pool pass in January 2012.

This car is the first iteration. It will improve with time. I'd like to see a 60 mile battery. The cool thing is when the battery is exhausted it switches to the gas generator

  • All I can say is congratulations to you, my fellow Angelino. For me, I need a loud V8.
