Don't kid yourself, you know it couldn't touch just about any of their past albums. Not saying it's awful, I mean it's fucking oasis. But, do you really think this beats Morning Glory? Shoulder of Giants? I think not.
@ThuSkyline well.. its still better than Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants and Heathen Chemistry. That for me makes it anything but the worst Oasis album. I like DOYS myself. 'Aint Got Nothing' and 'Nature Of Reality' for me are the bad tracks. Everything else is cool.
Other bands could make a living on songs like this and this aint even a well known track . Best band ever in terms of songs attitude and inspiring a generation
anyone else think theyll be fine without noel? i think itll be rockin personally im just thinkin eyeball tickler hung in a bad place meanin of soul keep the dream alive thank you for the goodtimes.if they capture that energy itll be fuckin amazin!fingers crossed
To be honest Oasis splitting up is the best thing to happen to the band since 1997, Be Here Now was a disgrace for a band that excelled at the heights it did.
It will be good to hear an album of Noels songs again like the old albums and Liam Gem and Andy and the chaps will be going punk rock like the old days - it'll be the best of both worlds - GET READY TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME!!!
i dont agree there mate i like be here now i think its rockin standin on the shoulder of giants has a few good moments heathen chemistry is good dont believe the truth is mega and dig out your soul is great!!! oasis have been the most important band in my last decade i was just makin an observation!
@lohello567 Don't believe all the shit you see in the media about the album. Trace the critics, you'll find negative stories from sources linked to The Spice Girls, look at the reviews on the albums release, nobody said anything negative about it, thus Be Here Now's posisiton as The Fastest Selling Album Of All Time. The criticism came after certain "media" men noticed the threat of Oasis for the number 1 spot because their single releases were about to coincide with their own interests. FACT.
Exactly what I thought... I think it is, personally. Liam always says that while he has problems with Noel, he 'loves him to death'. So yah, it's definitely likely.
liam will keep oasis together and noel will have a great solo career! liam has to have the drive now to bring it all together! noel has always questioned his tardyness and his ability to stick with things but now he has no choice so i can't wait to hear the end results?
cool, thanks mate, your opinion means as much to me as a fart in the wind! so nothing :-) before you come up with such wit again let me remind you that opinions (such as yours) are like arseholes! eveyone has one :-)
your still a mouthy little boy who can only have a go at someone when he has a keyboard infront of him! stop being a girl and just comment on the music!!! you bore me!! i am bored listening to you! you are probably gay (hence the bitchy comments) and you are also a closet girls aloud fan! hows the three bedroomed closet your living in??? you called me a dick three times! maybe you could say something else in this message????
fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fcuk fuck. Igot up in the fucking morning and went down the fucking stairs and poured my fucking self a bowl of fucking cornflakes.
I first heard this song three days ago, and I can now quite comfortably say that it, in my opinion, is the best song Liam has ever written, and is my second favourite Oasis song after Champagne Supernova. Like Liam said at Wembley a few weeks back "We're not fuckin splttin up, we've only just started". Live Forever Gallaghers.
have you heared let there be love a.k.a it's a crime this version is just noel on an accoustic however the song is slightly more up beat with different lyrics in the verses. i know most people probably wouldn't agree but i think it has the edge on let there be love.
And another comment. Liam is a world class song writer. This is just absolutely brilliant. It slaps you in the face and says, "Listen up - something's happening."
Few other artists are writing shit this honest these days. As the man himself says, I'm absolutely mad for it.
Absolutely. This song and I Wanna Live in a Dream should have replaced To Be Where There's Life and The Nature of Reality, which are two of the weakest Oasis tracks I've ever listened to. Gem and Andy have written some cool tunes (Turn Up the Sun and Hung in a Bad Place comet o mind), but their efforts on DOYS just weren't that captivating. This song and I Wanna Live in a Dream are full of the youthful spirit that is Oasis and they should have been on the ablum.
i´d agree but record machine & boy with the blues wouldn`t have fitted on the album`s sound.
to be where there´s life is a good album track but an AMAZING live song. loved it live. i`d say the nature of reality & ain`t got nothing are the weakest.
They absolutely would have fit the sound of the album - particularly Boy With the Blues, because it has a similar sound to Soldier On.
Ain't Got Nothin' is a great tune. As you probably know, it's about a fight, and I think the musical interlude before the last repetition of the chorus - representing the chaos of a brawl - is one of the more creative things Oasis has done musically.
i really liked the demo of ain`t got nothing more than the album version. liam`s voice sounded kinda raw. it`s a good track but by far not good enough for an oasis-album!
awesome song. should have been on dig out you soul. they should have played it at bbc electric proms at roundhouse last year. with the choir......magic!
yet another example of perfectly good oasis song that slipped through the cracks. i think some of their b-sides should've been on their albums especially the new ones
he is gonna make some epic tunes in the next album. if their is one... and why didnt liam learn the guitar in his early career?! think of how many songs he could have contibuted.
this may have been one of the songs they didn't finish. I read in Q that they had two" epic" songs that were suppose to make the album but when they went to record in la liam ran off and got married without telling them. since they had families of their own to get back to the rest of the band decided to go on and use the songs they already had.
kind of a shame. this is much better than soldier on.
It is a good song no doubt, but shouldn't have been on Dig Out Your Soul for me. Doesn't have the same vibe - DOYS flows really well - perhaps could have saved for the next album though
It baffles me why coldplay get the props when OASIS is clearly, clearly the better band!! Can someone clue me in? Been an oasis fan since 1994! 95% of the songs on my ipod are all OASIS!
if 95% of your songs are oasis....you may need to expand your horizons =P (i'm aware youre exaggerating)

but i agree....if it werent for the beatles....OASIS would have the throne of british bands
why dont they put this as a b-side? none of their singles have any b-sides so when they have such a great song as this then i dont understand why they just let it go?
