lol I have atheros too and it took me like 2 days to make ndiswrapper to work and stuff, but hey you learn a lot in the process. btw Linux is much better for server applications, batch processing and so on, but actually it's not suitable for regular computer users

Most of the producers of hardware don't write drivers for Linux, because they have ACTA-like arrangements with the software companies (and you help them to continue this). Nevertheless the Linux community writes very quality and stable drivers. And they are installed automatically, I don't need to waste few hours to search for suitable drivers every few months (after Windows' preinstallation). I have 5 years old Linux and it works great. What would happen to XP after 5 years (if it even start)?

I find it funny to see so many people wanting 'simplicity' in an OS, if you want to be extracted from the actual power of a computer - you have no business near a *nix command line in the first place.

I will also argue, BSD is much better than Linux albeit the people bashing OS' are also the ones with little to no concept of the development process, or true engineering in general.

@Gligar13Vids It's funny looking at the videos of the main Youtube linux channels, the audio is all over the place with NO consistancy whatsoever, sometimes is really quiet so you have to pump up the speakers a lot, then sometimes they are so quiet. They always say stupid things like, duhhh sorry but I'm having issues with sound this week etc etc. Linux is a sad joke, thats why there are all of 3 dozen users worldwide, they can't even GIVE the crap away LOL !

@LinuxReallySucks The only version of Linux people use is Android, and from various people who have used it, it is quite possibly the buggiest mobile OS ever. I've seen issues sending texts, wifi spazzing out, and frequent crashes.

Not only that, on the tablets the UI is VERY inconsistent. Sometimes UI objects will be in the bottom, others in the top corner, and other programs were just designed for smartphones only, so they will be streched and for vertical screens.

@LinuxReallySucks If you do get a tablet, get something running a desktop OS like Windows. Tablets based on mobile OSes are somewhat of a joke, the only thing good about them is their size. Due to the fact that the basic OS is designed for a phone, there are lots of UI inconsistencies, and lots of apps will run pixelated blown up to size.

If there were tablets with the same size running Windows, I would instantly buy them.

Linux works perfectly on my various computers I run it on, my families' computers, and the servers this video is hosted on. I'm guessing this low quality video was made with Movie Maker? BTW, I have several Linux desktops, a netbook, and a tablet. All work better than they did with Windows, that is, the ones that could actually run Windows.

You should see most of the linux channels here on YT, not one of them actually mentions the major Kernel power regression bugs that can cause a laptop to literally melt with heat or shorten a desktop pcs life to a matter of months due to power consumption increasing by 50% or more thus fans going into overload and all sorts of other crap.

Not into fanboys but at least the Mac & Win7 obes like something that actually works properly without being glitched out to the hills.

The Linux community is one of the most stupid, in that, they all go round patting each other on the back for bringing out another latest release of a buggy, glitched out load of amateur crap, ALL THE WHILE, THE ACTUAL UNDERLYING KERNEL HAS MAJOR POWER REGRESSION BUGS SINCE 2.6.38+ which means that power consumption increases by 40%-50% in addition to overheating, fan speed going thru the roof etc.. this is on desktops & laptops.

So if you want your computer to last only a year, put Linux on it
