  • :DDDDDD nice,nice

  • I am a semi-retired film maker x C.B.C. National News and Global News.

I have to admit that I am from the old school of film making. But I do enjoy some of the new styles of film making. Keep up the good work!

  • Globetrekkerlicious

  • Excellent job---huge improvement from first reel. Please stay in touch, would love to see where you go!

  • Hey thanks! I've done 2 other since. You should check out my latest one on Portugal (it's also on my channel). Thanks for watching and the encouragement!

  • Cool! Go for it! I have posted 3 showreels (LA, Kingston, Quebec) and I am working on my next one right now so hopefully it will be available by the end of the summer. Where are you going to film your showreel?

  • wow, I think I saw my ex in the Sleepless Goat :) Good video, lots of energy

  • hehe, that's funny. Believe it or not, one of my friends also recognize someone in the video. :)

  • I think you need to post this over to the pilot guide producers.

    Well done!

  • Thanks for the encouragement! I did send it over but no news yet :)

  • WOW...wonderful job! Very creative and informative. Love the editing and the shots. I hope you start your own show and have it aired on OLN.

  • PsalmOner, wow thank you!! Very nice of you to say this! I hope to be on OLN one day too, that would be so amazing! Thanks for commenting!

  • Well, it's as frozen as it is here! Nice warm people though - thanks for posting!!

  • No problem, I love getting feedback so thanks so much for posting!! :)

  • We're invading at midnight! Better arm those towers!! ;-] One thing tangential: Bryan Adams's hit single (if memory serves correct) Run To You comes to mind.. do you think Coldplay adapted it to their song "Moses"?? Just an odd thought.. no biggie!

  • haha chuckkottke, very funny :) I'll make sure to tell the guards to look out for you!! :) Haven't heard the song Moses although I really like coldplay so I'm intringued and will look into this.. :)

  • I've just watched all 3 of your videos and you rock!!

Well done & I'm sure I'll be watching you on tv on day from Adelaide, Australia!

    Good Luck!

  • Christoswinter, hey thanks so much for the encouragement!!! It's makes me so happy that you enjoyed all 3!! That's so cool!!

  • HOLY POOP!

    the restaurant in this video

    is my moms! wow.

  • That's awesome!! Which one? :)

  • This is a nice video of Kingston though I live here I don't usually venture out for the wintery festivities! I'll stick with Buskers and Blues Fest which are both a little warmer to attend...oh and the SAILING Is perfect here!

  • I agree, the sailing is wonderful! I love it! I'm a member of KYC - do you sail in Kingston? Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting!!

  • thanks were you donwload the song??

  • The music is composed by Ian Ritchie (the composer for the Pilot Guides series). You can download the music from his website.

  • thanks

  • No problem. There are actually quite a few songs from the Pilot Guides series which you can also download from the Pilot Guides website as well.

  • you make it??? its ....waoooo,

  • Violinfutbol, hey thanks, I hope you enjoyed it!

  • hi i love pilot guides you know thr song of the program???

  • violinfutbol, the theme song from the show is composed by Ian Ritchie.

  • Haha this is amazing! Kingston is such a nice city, I really enjoy my visits. Pilot Guides is one of the few quality shows on television, and this is an extremely well done tribute to it!

  • Akab6, I agree, I am a huge fan of the show too! Where are you from?

  • I am from Toronto, but am living in Montreal right now for school. But I know a bunch of people from Kingston! It says you like sailing in your profile. I've sailed in the CORK youth non competitive race once...but did extremely poorly and is a very long story haha.

  • Ah, cool! So, you probably go to McGill or Concordia right? I sailed in CORK last year (in the Offshore fleet). Kingston is great for sailing, I love it! What kind of boat do you sail?

  • Yup I go to Concordia and I sail Lasers 1 and 2s. But I haven't been sailing in years...I just never get the opportunity so I really miss it. What kind of boats do you sail?

  • I used to sail Laser II with my dad when I was younger. For the last 5-7 years, we've been sailing together and competiting with his 5O5. Tons of fun! Real high performance boat! When I am in Kingston, I sail on CNCs or a Kirby 30. I've also tried a Shark and a 420 a few times.

  • Hey Cynthia - great video - I am really impressed with your video skills - I hope you get picked up my Pilot Guides - Who needs a PhD when you're in show business. i hope to see more soon - maybe a summer installment for Kingston!!

    Take care

  • Thanks zavitz84 for commenting on my video! Kingston is so alive in the summer that I am tempted to make another video of this beautiful city.

  • Very cool video, eh? :-). Super-professional, and so much effort. I need to visit in winter next time...! How cool are the engineers! Hehe.

  • Hey sparkysnowdon, thanks for the compliments! You should come visit Kingston! Even though Spring is just around the corner, we are still getting some snow. :) It's beautiful out.

  • All right, Cynthia! Way to go, this one's even better than the Quebec City one!!! =)

  • bluefox670, ah, I'm so glad you like it! Thanks for commenting!!

  • I was just browsing around and saw your video. Great video! You're a natural and I hope you'll get a job with Globe Trekker, I'm tired of watching Justine Shapiro and Megan McCormick, everything that they say seem to be rehearsed. btw, you forgot to mention Don Cherry in Kingston!

  • OilersTitans, thanks for your comments! Will mention Don Cherry for sure next time!

  • Awesome! Perhaps you can put on one of his ugly ties in your next show! :)

  • Haha, maybe I'll wear one of his funky suits too! :)

  • Cynthia honey, I have no doubt in my mind that you will get the hosting job! I enjoyed this very much! You have a great down to earth personality necessary for a job like this! Good luck and I hope to see you hosting Globetrekker soon!

  • Brinah, thanks for the lovely compliment! And a big thanks for the encouragement too!

  • Your welcome, anytime! I look forward to seeing more!

  • Brinah, I'll let you know if I upload a new video! Take care and happy St. Patty's Day!

  • hey cynthia, congratulations, it's a funny, smart and beautiful video!

heheh looking forward to a new one!

  • Thanks Erethras for your comments! I'll let you know if I produce another one!

  • Hey Cynthia,

That's so cool! Now I want to come visit Kingston, love the ice castles!

  • That's great pilotguides! Well then come over to Kingston! I'll be your personal tour guide!

I love the ice castle too! Students from the Royal Military College and Queen's University were competing against each other in a fort construction - they had 24 hours in total to build their structure (12pm - 12pm). It was really cool to watch the students build the structures from beginning to end!

  • i enjoyed watching your second reel. great job on the content and video editing. it looked very professional and like an authentic globe trekker episode. keep up the good work!

  • Thanks ynaffit321 for your thoughts!

  • Great video! It's great to see Kingston through your eyes. Being a resident, it's all to easy to forget what a great town we live in. I think you've got a great presence on camera and the bloopers at the end are a nice touch.

  • I'm glad you liked it amyallcock! I agree, Kingston rocks! Thanks for the nice comments.

  • Hi message from Kaitland:

So many good things about this video,

I liked the ice fort made with blue boxes.

I am interested in Edmonton right now,

but the Kingston video was <<<STUPENDOUS>>>.

  • moisturebunny, thanks for the comments! I'm really happy you liked it! Are you planning on moving to Edmonton or visiting the city soon?

  • I watched "Cynthia's Pilot Guides (Globe Trekker) Showreel - Kingston" three times. Thanks Cynthia for the infectious enthusiasm.

  • moisturebunny, wow, 3 times! Crazy! I love it - thanks for letting me know!

  • Hey! Nice video! Keep up the good work.

  • Hey, thanks Hyperblaze :) Glad you enjoyed it!

  • It's a safe bet that every Globetrekker fan on Youtube is pulling for you. You'll do well in the application process. Good Luck! Where do I sign the petition?

  • Thank bevaneachy! I'll let you know if there is one. :)

  • Hi Cynthia, let me tell you first you have a great talent, you are imropoving more and more,

don't forget to use some music on background when you talk in Off.

P.D. You are so hot! how old are you?

    Well Done!! from Colombia

  • hegelito, thank you for the compliment. I tried really hard to make this video more energetic than the last and I tried to be more relaxed (but still professional) in front of the camera. By the way, I'm 25 years old (to answer your question). I'm not down with all the lingo - what do you mean by ".. when you talk in Off"? Take care

  • Cynthia are u planning to make a new video? where?. We will make 5 of them, so i'll put some to show you.

    see ya

  • hegelito, I've been working on the Kingston video for the last 2 months. I think I'm going to wait until the weather warms up a bit before I make another one. Filming in -20 deg C weather is difficult. I'd like to see your videos though.

  • Nicely done! You nailed it! You make me want to visit... Oh wait, I already live here. :)

  • Haha, funny justinleputain! Are you a student or do you work in Kingston? I'm glad you like it. I had so much fun making it.

  • I like the intro using the map and the stompin tom folk song dubbed over the hockey game was a nice touch.Better than the first ,which made me want to go to Quebec ,the goofing around at the end reminds me of Ian Wright.

  • Thanks hawfinch, I'm glad you liked it! My boyfriend suggested the Stompin' Tom song for the hockey game. I also think it adds a really nice touch. :) I goof around quite a bit too and I think the bloopers reflect that side of me.

  • Hey!!! Muy Bien. Buen trabajo. Te estás volviendo profesional con eso. Mucho mejor trabajo que el anterior. Más música, más información, está muy completo. Sigue haciendo un buen trabajo.

Hey!!! Very good.Good work. You're going pro with this one. This one is better than the first one. More music, more info, very complete. Keep up the good work!

  • ¡Muchas Gracias joarmx! I tried really hard to make this one more complete. I got some good suggestions from some of the viewers which I tried to add in. Thanks for the comment!!

  • It is aaawesome. I enjoyed watching this one, a lot. Professionally produced.
