@drummer4686 Well, the reason it looks so perplexing is that the video is out of sync lol. He probably just used a basic double stroke roll.

It's his technique in the way he plays with two hands on the hi hat but keeps his left under his right and fills in with his left on the hat by using the shoulder of his stick rather than bringing it out from under and next to his right to play on the top of the hat. It's a sweet little thing I have seen a lot now and I just really want to learn it........so smooth
