  • what happens mxt??? aw man...

  • cinematography and choreography at their height, bettered only by The Matrix?

  • AMAZING!

  • Superb!!

  • well i have to say the Japanese improved the HAN FU and made it to their own style and its well known as the KIMONO, rather than Han Fu. Even if its the same/diff/ whatever its both nice.

  • @YelloWhiteFlowers "Improve" is debatable. It's different, yes, but improvement is subjective. I rather like the hanfu more.

  • @YelloWhiteFlowers "improved" is relative...let's just agree they are both different, and the Japanese just made up their own style, no culture is better than another...get over yourself!

  • @thekingofmoney2000 dumbfck thats why i said their both nice n doesnt matter what their called.

  • @YelloWhiteFlowers Why the hell are you calling me bad names?Asshole! You said it was "improved" I'm just using your own words!

  • China needs to celebrate their ancient history more. Oh right, ... commies ...

  • This is a type of Chinese traditional dance! Dance with the long sleeves and drums since 2000 years, origin from the Dynasty Tong in China. The clothes also the typical Tong Dynasty clothes of women. The long sleeves also named Water Sleeves, is the important component of the Chinese Dance and Opera. China was a leading country in ancient time of Eastern, so the culture influence the neighbour country, like Japan. So, you can find the Tong dynasty style buildings still retained in Japan now.

  • @miran6789 I'm so sorry,I accidently pressed the vote down button :(:(:(:( didnt mean it..whereas I found ur comment very useful and interesting.I feel a bit guilty now

  • Thats not kimono, it is called Hanfu, and it is chinese traditional clothes for like thousands years untill 400 years ago, Kimono has some elements from Chinese Hanfu.

  • I like to call this the bean flicking scene

  • el descolle de belleza estetica estanta que subyuga

  • I don't see why people keep thinking that's a kimono she's wearing. Kimonos are stiff and structured while Chinese hanfu are loose and flowing.

The long sleeves are Chinese based. Also, Ziyi's multiple outfits and the palace's exaggerated colors were typical in the Tang Dynasty.

  • @omgimspazzing That is so true, and this outfit is so called hanfu, has a recorded history of Thousands years. ! people should know this , "Kimonos are stiff and structured while Chinese hanfu are loose and flowing." this statements is very brief yet brilliant, I am impressed.

  • @ KennaQRumiko You moronic idiot! Zhang Zi Yi is 100% Chinese. Only because she played geisha in "memoirs of a Geisha" doesn't mean she is a Japanese actress. You should be embarrassed yourself to death....!!!!!

  • @seattleyan lol haha

  • If they have workshops / dance classes for that - I would SO go x]

  • kimono are in fact japanese and japan was influenced by china and korea

  • Comment removed

  • @KennaQRumiko What has you convinced Zhang Ziyi is Japanese exactly? Her name? Being born in Beijing?

  • @KennaQRumiko I am so utterly shocked to being so speechless by your blatant ignorance!!!! I admire your thick skin during lying with even some confidnece. If you even spent one second WIki her, you will know Zhang Zi Yi is Chinese to the last drop of her blood!!!! U retard!

  • @zilanhu Why in the world are you all arguing? He'll find out himself eventually so whats the point of calling him a "retard"?

  • @KennaQRumiko You're just another retard out to riducule for no good reason.

  • wth to tht cheater!! I like Xiao Mei especially her hair in Asience shampoo ^_^

  • Kimono are Japanese.

  • @LadyReginaSmiles

don't think that's kimono she wears in the movie

  • @LadyReginaSmiles she is wearing a hang fu.

  • @yukitong88 "hanfu" "Han" is the predominant ethnic group in China (~92%). "Fu" means clothes. "Hanfu" = clothes of the Han people.

  • @LadyReginaSmiles they are not wearing kimonos

  • @LadyReginaSmiles actually the kimono is derived from chinese clothes.

  • @LadyReginaSmiles she wasn't wearing a kimono

  • @LadyReginaSmiles Than is probably NOT a Kimono(:

  • @LadyReginaSmiles

KIMONO IS KOREA, YOU BOJI SHIPSEKKI

  • @LadyReginaSmiles the copied chinese and made a little difference

  • @LadyReginaSmiles where do you think the japanese originally got the kimono idea from?

  • @LadyReginaSmiles

Accually Kimono originated from China. During that time. Japanese still have no Kimono. And dress like that called Han Fu.

It was chinese culture impacts Japanese culture. Include the originate of Kimono.

And. the clothes which this dancer wearing is not Kimono. there is slightly difference between Kimono and Han fu.

  • @LadyReginaSmiles And that's why no one's wearing one; what's your point?

If you're referring to the ladies outfits, they're dressed in the robes that are typical of Tang Dynasty China. Besides, the Kimono was derived from already existing Chinese designs.

Don't you love it when some half-wit tries to prove a point or pick an issue only to have it backfire on themselves?

  • beautiful very artistic

  • very clever

  • Amen to that, ZIYI is the greatest!!!

  • That is some amazing fabric...Love the movie!!

  • i loooove this film!!!!!!

  • love ziyi
