Laurie's first novel, The Gun Seller, is essentially an extended riff on this skit and those like it featuring Alan. Highly recommended - Laurie is, as one might expect, a bloody fabulous writer.
Those weren't Japanese fighting fish. If they were they would have to be kept in separate tanks so that they wouldn't rip each others heads off. But somehow, the the fact that they were actually pop-eyed goldfish makes this entire video even funnier.
I love this sketch just cos its so classy and well made, but still funny where you want it to be. Fry and Laurie are both great at playing those characters
"Now I can't do that as you very well know Alan. The department is a large building houesing hundreds of people. I couldn't possibley shove it up my arse without a great deal of discomfort..."
Is the sketch you're looking for the one in which Hugh plays Rupert Murdoch ? He is supposed to be dead and his "angel" shows him what the world would look like whithout him... I think you can find it searching "fry and laurie rupert murdoch".
I love this.I've been trying to find a sketch of theirs, Stephen plays Hughs guardian angel and it's in black and white. Also, Hugh is Australian in it. Can anyone help me find it? anyone know

Python references, innit? Fiendish bananas, wanda-ish fishes... And by the way, you don't need a license for a fish!!
Long live British comedy!

The moment at the beginning with his gun is so classic. I laughed for five minutes the first time I saw it.

Ha, that's great! Hugh reminds me of Thomas Lang from The Gun Seller...That novel really should be turned into a film!

For obvious reasons, I always imagined him as looking like Hugh anyway. So, there you go.

It IS being turned into a movie. He wrote up a script and sent it to united artists, but he said he wouldn't star in it.
