Worst decision BBC3 ever made - even by their standards. Don't worry - we can all look forward to another series of 'Snog, Marry or Avoid?' instead. (Will someone ship these commissioning editors off to Poland and do the right thing, please?)
I agree about the show 'Sugar Rush' - and indeed the BBC should never have axed 'Pulling' - at least not yeat anyway. But I think this is what gives these shows 'cult' status - when the box sets come out who is going to buy them? WE WILL!! and god knows how many others!
The last top drama on BBC I was engrossed in was 'This Life' back in the good old 90's! but BBC 2 luckily got their hands on that - otherwise it probably would've slipped through the net too and ended up axed after 4 episodes.
Fantastic show but few people have seen it .Best comedy in years looks like it slipped thru the mass market net , but maybe that suits some people at the bbc Like keeping your favourite painting in a vault
They axe pulling after 2 series, but carry on making series after series after series of two pints of lager and now the 'hilarious' grown ups. Bizarre. I'm not saying its the best comedy series ever or anything but its fun and deserved a wider audience, i think they misjudged the intended audience and should have premiered it on BBC2. Its in a different league to the usual garbage on BBC3.
i totally agree. i think it's one of the best comedies in years. good comedy is rare nowdays on tv. as well as a sharp writer, sharon horgan is also a brilliant comedy actress. her portrayal of donna is absolutely fantastic. watched last night's "one-off" and cried with laughter 3 times. yet again the bbc get it wrong!
Working my way through the show on iplayer just now, would recommend it to anyone, keeping my neighbours up by laughing hysterically at 3am, what a great programme.
Riiight - so Grownups gets the greenlight (because what we really need is Two Pints Redux) and Pulling (nicely paced comedy, integrity with maintaining character arcs, etc.) gets axed?
I know. Its crazy that the best thing to come from BBC3 is axed. This series just didn't get enough promotion - even I assumed it would be crap because it was on BBC3 and then when I caught a bit of it one night I realised how great it was. I can't believe 2 pints whatever is still being churned out whilst something this great is axed. The BBC should be encouraging this kind of talent - but I guess theres no spare money left after having to pay Jonathan Ross's wages.
Oosh - somebody's letting it all flood out tonight!
I felt the same way about Channel 4 show 'Sugar Rush' about a teenage lesbian in Brighton. The end of the second series clearly left room for possibilities, but it got the chop.
Damn shame, because aside from all the great sex farce stuff, it had moments of real heart, and relentless pacing in a 25 minute format. Plus it cost nothing to shoot, so they could've easily commissioned more.
The lead girl was last seen in Lark Rise to Candleford.

She deserves that award so much. Pulling is such a brilliant programme and merits much greater recognition and appreciation.

There's something so Irish about her humour... her performance in Pulling expresses a kind of cluelessness I can relate to. Bravo!

Apart from an hour special in April, the BBC have axed the series.
You can thank BBC3 controller Danny Cohen for that one.

I'm hoping this isn't true.
