Awesome video! You seem like a neat guy- I hope you're feeling better! I've been in Crohn's remission for over 25 years and just today was told that I'm entering a flare up. I know it gets tough- I'm planning on staying as positive as I can; I wish that for all that have IBD.
I have moderate to severe Crohn's disease. No medication other than Prednisone seems to work. I have tried Humira, Remicade and a myriad of other drugs. I am looking into specific diets for Crohns. What foods should I base my diet off of? I know that everyone is different, but some things work for the majority. What about Cats Claw and other herbs? Which herbs do I need to take, how much do I take and in what form? Help.
I don't know anything about this disease but i just watchd a video from CannabisCureTV, where they talk about their life with this disease and how cannabis tottaly have changed their life to normal. Take a look at this video:
realstuff; i; A VIET NAM american Veteran Disabled I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at 19 yrs old and suffered with it severely throughout my 14 years of service, sadly I was treated as a slave.work out doors in the sizzling hot humid enviroment with chronic diarrhea, weight loss and severe.and when I say weight, people referred to me as a little boy.the same renains true to this day.I learn by way of Crohn's Disease that it was literally used as a weapon against me .It's sad to say.Brad50020
People suffering from ibd and autoimmune disorders, check out 'Dr Raphael Mechoulem' from the hebrew university of Jerusalem he goes into great detail on the Endogenous cannabinoid system, its no big pharma quack crap!! its genuine science, also there is some great info from Dr Bob Melamede an associate professor of biology at the University of Colorado. good medicinal cannabis has immune modulating power which surpasses that of any pharma drugs ,im currently cutting down on 6mp and eating gdQhash
Good video, really enjoyed it...I too have Crohn's, for over 25 years. You can email me if you want. I am under control for the last 10 years. I was bad when I was your age though...there is light at the end of the tunnel.....tamemytummy@gmail.com
I have had Crohn's for over 25 years. I was diagnosed about your age and have been down a similar path. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Find a doctor who will experiment with you and find a drug that will get you under control.... Good luck to you you can email me if you want tamymytummy@gmail.com
I am coming up for my 8 yr colonoscopy. I am dreading the bowl prep. Some people have opinions that have not lived through it and I take their comments in stride. I have been taking my 16 pills a day but I have had a pretty painful week. Pissman thank you for the shot of positivity.
ive supposedly had crohns disease for like 7 yrs, the only symptoms i have related is they found some ulcers and inflammation during a colonoscopy and ive had a fistula for 7 yrs that i did end up having surgery on which only helped like 20%, but bottom line is i dont think i have it or its very very mild cuz i get no symptoms, nothing hurts or nothing has been infected
DONT TAKE ACUTANE OR THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU! DEAD SERIOUS! The only good thing is i might receive medical marijuana for the pain and ulcers. And an enema...
I just wanted to thank you for this video,I'm 24 and found out I have crohn's Disease and it has been a hell for 2 years and noone knew what i had and i found out a month ago,but anything this video just really helped me and i thank you again...
btw i have crohns. it sux. i was just told today im not allowed to eat and can only have those nutrtion drinks and steroids..its gonna be a fun couple of months....
Crohn's has been living with me for the last 10 years. In 2008 I found out just how deadly a relationship it is. I'm on my second surgery in 7 months and it's hard to believe any of the advice offered knowing all the side effects and costs and pain. A friend offered me a simple solution to rest my intestines and colon, he said just eat fruits and vegetables for the next 2 months and see if you have any flair-ups. for which I have not ! my video wayneo169 just after my first surgery March 2009
wow bro i had the same surgery feb of 2000 as well... i went into the hospital new years eve 2000. great video i share a lot of the same feelings. so glad to see u r doing well. awesome attitude! im 5'9 and i was 88lbs. now im 160 and in the best shape of my life. crohns is a bitch but u can overcome! never give up guys! educate yourselves on the disease and learn whats really going on with ur body. im always hear to talk or listen for anyone so please dont hesitate! good luck and hang in there!
been living with crohns disease myself since the age of 10, have had 2 surgeries removing portions of my ilieum, another to remove a fistulae, manyyy months in sick kidss and i'm only 17 atm... to say the least its been roughh
howeverr my doc is advising the use of "remicade"
anyone know anything about that?
alsoo, i have read that the effects of collodial silver are amazing when it comes to the immune/digestive system, i'd certainly advise ppl to research that before removing more intestine
Thanks to crohns I had emergency surgery March3, 2009 they removed a portion of my colon, my small intestine and my appendix, I have a video on youtube/ wayneo169 I'm still weak at only about 30 % of my strength and I am sooooo sick of spending so much time in the bathroom not the bedroom... my initials of my name are WAR and that's what living with crohns has been like for me a constant battle
I was diagnosed with Crohns at 12, had surgery at 16. i am now 19 and have no problems with my Crohns accept losing my appetite sometimes. If u want any info or advice then just leave me a message. I am happy to help in anyway!!
brettparr96, my face went down gradually as i reduced the medication. I began taking six tablets every day then my face puffed up very quickly and suddenly i had a huge appetite. Then as i began to feel better my doctor reduced my tablets weekly. So five tablets one week, then four then three and gradually my face went down. Hope this helps. If you want anymore info just ask on my profile. Im happy to share my experiences and help in any way i can.!!
I can relate to it hurting too much to eat. Last year i droped to 89lbs (I'm 5'9) and had to be hospitalized for 9 days because of severe malnurishment. I had a pick line and two blood transfusions, but now I am doing much better! Humara saved me.
You won't STOP Crohns with some mineral or vitamin! You need something to Shut OFF the immune system from attacking your GI tract!
I have Proctitis,
First thought it was due to gluten, next decided I had some bacteria in GI. To kill them decided to eat garlic daily and opted for minced garlic in water and phosphoric acid found near lettuce/potatoes...........Recently, I've discovered that Garlic INCREASES IL 10 which shuts OFF other cytokines that call for the immune system attack!
I am 50, have had Crohns forever. Sod all the voodoo and crap advice, take the drugs. Only you know what works for you. I meditate and eat simple small meals 5 times a day, that works for me, and when it doesn't, I complain very loudly to my doctor until something is done. What I have learned is that suffering in silence doesn't get you anywhere in the health service. Complain before your symptoms get worse and nip the attack in the bud. Love to all you fellow sufferers.
I've been taking it for 6 months now from my own meditation and recently discovered why it is working: Garlic INCREASES IL 10 in the intestines which shuts OFF the other cytokines calling for the immune system to Attack your gut.
Check the VIB animated video out on IL 10 and Crohns, Next do a google search of Garlic and IL 10..............
I don't have it, I didn't say that! My friend had that. The guy I told you had it, but not anymore. He is now the luckiest person ever. Don't be ignorant, please. Check out this page and read it. mmsadvisor(dot)com/?s=crohn
No ....I haven't tried any treatment......./sarcasm
Yes, of course I've tried treatment. I've tried all these stupid diets and naturopathic "cures" and the didn't work. If there was a cure don't you think the hundreds of thousands with CD would do it???
I don't have any reason to lie you! I'm not even from your country, and english isn't my mother tongue. There is a forum about MMS in my language but you wouldn't understand that of course. Please read what I've gave to you. Maybe it won't help you, but I can tell you that it helped my friend, and this is nothign but a truth! Why wouldn't? Because they don't know about that. I know that there are 10.000 but this one is killing viruses and bacterias in your body and that's it...
i loved the video. i also have crohn's disease. i was diagnosed when i was 13 and now im 19. Just wanted to say it is possible to make it and i wish you the bes!
I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2004, it was a couple of weeks before I graduated from high school. I have my ups and downs with the disease but I learned that if you dont let it take over your life and you fight back then you will conquer it because now I am in remission and I have been for a whole year. I have gained all my weight back and I can get anything that I want but it would not have been possible with Jesus Christ and my wonderful doctor at UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital.
I suffer from extreme chronic bloating/pain everyday (almost 3 years now). I never have relief. It depends on what position I'm in to make the pain go down slightly. It sucks, and I sometimes I want to die.
I was shitting blood and unable to keep down food for a week before I finally gave in and went to the hospital and got diagnosed with this. They said if I waited any longer I would have died that weekend but I am a stubborn sob and I hate hospitals with a passion. But at least I finally figured out what was wrong with me. Took 22 years of my life to figure it out tho. I had all the usual symptons. The psoriasis shit is really fucked up I hate that almost as much as the arthritis in the morning
My Girl Friend may have Crohns, she has been getting allot of tests done latly and the doctors think that is what she has, she gets the results back like next week, so i hope she does not have this
I was diagnosed with Crohns at 12, had surgery at 16. i am now 19 and have no problems with my Crohns. If u want any info or advice then just leave me a message. I am happy to help in anyway!!
I was diagnosed with Crohn's at sixteen, but by that time I had been sick for three years. Now I am 24 and trying to manage the best I can. This video really hits on all the personal aspects of Crohn's. It's hard not to let the disease control you and get you down. It really helps to have a good support around you. All the best!!
with no job,NO IN$urance, doctors wont slice an dice your guts,of the rotten dead bowel, colon Ive got 2 years behind me now, still waitin for it to blow (colon) then Ill be able to get passed the ER ,to the knife, how much better is it after the rotten parts are removed,I mean you can make a turd again right
I was diagnosed with it at the age of 19 when I was trying to get through my first year of college. I was sick months beforehand, baffling my Dr. After the diagnosis, and my stay in the hospital, the steriods they pumped through my veins to eleviate the symptoms messed with my head. This then caused me to have to drop out because I could no longer concentrate on my studies, not to mention I'd missed too many classes. I went back a couple years later, but the same thing happened again.
diagnozed in a age of 21..im 25 only 3 times i felt i had it...i wish all for everyone with all my heart...im trying to believe i dont hav it and it works..great video mate!!
I heard the news that i had crohns when i was 12 i am now 13, i have gotten chubby because of the steroids, does anyone know if will ever go away, and i be back to the way i used to be??
I take it your on prednizone? If so, no, not until your off of it. I have Crohns and Colitis! Was diagnosed when i was 10 and im now 26! If you have more ?s feel free to messg me!
Yeah, the dreaded pred does have that effect lol but dont worry, you cant use pred long term use because of osteoporosis (only when you have been using them continuously over a long period of time) in later life and stuff. When you are 'weened' off the steroids, you will find that you deflate to your former size after a month or two!! I was diagnosed at 15 and am now 18 :) Xx
Your right about that. This one doctor I was seeing left me on steriods far too long. It thinned my bones to the point of having osteoperosis. The Dr. I seen for that told me I had the bones of an 80 year old (I was in my 20's) So then I had the added problem of having to make sure I cared for my bones and took therapy drugs to help correct that.
Have they tried you on Entocort? It is similar to prednisone with less side effects (ie no more puffy face), but is fairly new with no generic and can be expensive depending on your insurance plan. I always request it because I can't tolerate oral prednisone. If your MD has not discussed it with you, ask him/her about it. Personally, it does wonders to stop a flare in its track and get weight back up to a healthy (and non-puffy) level.
Thank you for posting this wonderful video. I am probably going to lose six inches of ileum in the near future due to a ten year record of crohns in the ileum with stricture and partial bowel obstruction. The worst is when it hits the roof of my mouth - those little crohns ulcers hurt.
Hey Everyone just wanted you guys to know there are so many people out there who have beat this disease that are med free do not think you can't be one of them. I use to think that way but I WRONG. Check my site out and feeel free to drop me a line anytime. CrohnsBoy dotcom

The celebrex was being used, at the time, to treat my ankylosing spondylitis...which sometimes accompanies Crohn's/Colitis. I have since started Remicade and that has helped the alleviate my back pain.
jak12321...please consult a gastroenterologist so they can better diagnose your problem.
I've also run into a bout of kidney stones several times...that could be the culprit.
ANYONE WHO HAS IT PLEASE TELL ME IF I HAVE IT, its in my right lower part, ive had it for 5 weeks, but the docs say its my kidneys Got dhiorea ? - Yes Got pains no the right, lower side of youre body? - Yes Puking? - No Blood poop? - Once Going to the toilet often? - No Rate the pain on a 1 to 10 scale - 8 Farting? - Yes Tall or small or medium size? - Small Anything wrong on the outside? - No Please if you would, you could save my life ='( please pm me.

IT is not genetic. Prove to yourself if I am telling the truth or not. You will need to keep appointments. The longer the atlas stays in place the longer the time between visits

My name is Shawn, i was told that i have Crohn's. In October of 2007... The meds r not working .. the pain is so fucking bad... Some day's i don't even eat....
have you tried supplement drinks? Boost chocolate is really good. You get your vitamins and its easy to digest. Its what I drink when I can't eat and the pain makes me wish I was dead. I've had Crohn's for going on 10 years (I'm 35). Hope this helps you Shawn.
Thankyou...... Hope all works out with you and Crohns. So true about everything. God bless you and your family. Im really glad you met someone who loves you for you!
Hi, I'm Kellan and I was diagnosed with Crohn's yesterday... I'm really not sure what to expect or what to do, and it's pretty shitty thinking and reading about the apparent upcoming suffering for me... It is good to know that I'm not alone though.
Please, try the Specific Carb Diet!!! Google "SCD Diet Main" and read read read.
My daughter was out of school for 7 weeks with Crohn's last Spring. She was completely well in 3 weeks!! It's not an easy diet but I feed my family of 6 this way. We are healthier than ever. The main web site will give you all the info you need. Don't suffer...change your life. Thousands have done this and you can join an online support group.
I was diagnosed in 2006 at the age of 10, now i'm 12 and will be 13 in october. It's good to know other people are out there dealing with the same stuff i do. Lately it's been tough, missed a lot of school, big weight loss, puffy cheeks, i look pale, lots of bathroon time and cramps and medicine stuff but i am not going to let it get to me!
Love the video. And I love "I don't live with Crohn's. It lives with me."
I have to point out though...CD can affect any part of the GI tract, not just the small intestine. I have had CD since '92. The majority of my disease is in my large intestine.
My father has had Crohn's Disease for over 30 years. It's a roller coaster every year. Sometimes it's really bad but a lot of the time it's okay. You can live with this disease. You can love, be loved, laugh, cry, work, study, travel and practice sports. Please don't lose hope. You're not alone in this. :)
and it not easy some days are good some are bad. I have had only 6" of intestines removed
in 1999. And i haven't had any problems since
knock on wood. It's nice to know there are other people out there that has it too. And i;m not alone i'm now 36 years old. and i pray my two children don't get it.
I had an emergency colon resection about a month ago, I've suffered terrible with crohns for years and it only gets worse, I've been outta work for a while now, feeling pretty worthless, I've been on Remicade for 6 years, I would really appreciate any advice from anyone if you know anything that can help, btw I love the video, looks like you got it figured out and have a supportive wife and still lead a productive life, I want to believe there is hope for me too and I do try to keep the faith...
Can you guys help me... I have had all sorts of odd things happen when my colon kicks up. I sweat I get sick I want to lay down I feel heavy and faint. I get bad reflux and strange skin marks. Sometimes a odd rash... I went to the hospital twice they said It was acid reflux... But I heard crons will make you sweat and give skin irritation. Can acid reflux make you sweat or do I have crons?
hi, i am 13 and was diagnosed with Chron's and UC 9 months ago. i had a pretty bad case of it, and was put in the ER on a high dose of steroids.i finally was sent homestill on steriods.when i was off the steriods,i was pou on LialdA,which was working great.well a few days ago, some symotoms came back.i am on steriods again after all the puff went down. i am really dissapointed but know i am not alone.everyone is suppoting, so i wanted to thnk them, and my doctor who's retiring :( God Bless her

Also, check out anne gittleman's 101 reasons sugar is bad for you. i believe that crohn's can be cured by diet- the drugs doctors prescribe only seem to make things worse- like taking imuran and throwing up after having diarrhea all day- how does that help!?
YOU ARE 100% right!!! read breaking the vicious cycle by elaine gotscall the book changed my life. Grab it at the library and read it, that way you know Im not selling anything :)
i am 17 and was diagnosed about a year ago with a moderate case of crohn's. was on entocort and hated the acne, puffiness, etc. now im on imuran and feel fine. no social, dietary, or physical restrictions to speak of. with the development of more and more medications and such, i think that the vast majortity of people will find some treatment that is effective for them
HEYY.. about 8 mths ago i got diagnosed with Crohns when i was 16. It's something that changes your life completely if you let it control you. Its all about trial and error finding the right medication. I was also on Prednisone for about 2 mnths and besides the side effects, its the only thing thats worked for me. Honestly i only take advice from people who have the disease, doctors are clueless sometimes. Think positive and dont let it control you. =]
i dont know if i have crohns disease yet but my doctors are pretty sure i do becaus i have pains and ulcers in the mouth 15 huge ulcers! im getting a colonoscopi to be sure but its definetly been ruining my life! i cant got out with friends, i havent been able to go to school for weeks luckily its summer now!, and ive lost 16-18 pounds when i read they didnt have a cure i almost cryed! very good video Its a very rare disease especially for a kid thats almost a teenager like me!
Wow, you're lucky. Not really but when I was admitted to the hospital I was in there for like 5 months before they know what was up. THEY ALMOST DID A BONE CULTURE! That would have sucked. Oh, and my weight loss was about 85 pounds O.o It sucked.
Hello, I have been on steroids and anti inflamotrys for 11 days now, I go back to the doctors on the 15th of may, I have felt no change at all still in agony when eat, I was just wondering how long are the pills ment to take to start working? and do they make people vomit? i seem to be sick every night, crohnes is definialy ruining my life, can anyone share some light? Thanks Roxanne
I have crohns im 25 and drug free! check out scd diet, grab the book called Breaking the viscious cycle by Elain Gotschall it will change your life. msg me anytime
ive had crohns for about a year and a 1/2. the disease has esculated recently and ive got to take imuran at night and it makes me throw up like heaps and i cant drink water other wise i throw up but my body will get use to it in about 2 weeks im told. but with out this imuran i feel fine!! i dont know why i gotta take it....
Some of the medicines I used to take made me wake up during the night and throw up. And it really depends on the pills. I've taken Prednisone which is a steroid and it took maybe a week to get in full effect. Others may take longer or shorter.
I love this video and the way its been put together :D makes me feel alot more positive and hopefull that i can beat this disease!
One thing though, in the facts at the beginning, it says that crohns only affects the small intestine. It can affect the whole digestive system through from your mouth to your anus.
running out of letters remaining lol . . .ill continue in another post ;)
I have crohns im 25 and drug free! check out scd diet, grab the book called Breaking the viscious cycle by Elain Gotschall it will change your life. msg me anytime
This for everyone that has crohn's. Even if you feel good be careful when going off your meds. It can do alot of damage if you just quit taking them all at once. Listen to your doctor. I have had crohn's for 21 years . This was a good video about the day in the life of crohn's. I like the bit at the end with the bathroom. So try LOL
I know how you feel i was diagnosed at the age of 10 i am know 16 and its been under control for about to years now. although i have stopped taking my meds because i just couldent handle taking that much pills i know that will come to bit me in the ass in the future but as if right now i am heathly on most days.
Doctors said I was diagnosed with crohn's but only 70% sure. However, it doesn't hurt for me when i eat. It's hard for me to walk right but today is only the second day that i've maybe had crohns. I promise, if i do have this disorder and feel down with it, i'm always gonna watch this video.
My nephew suffers from Crohn's. I feel bad for him!!! He was diagnoed the same year as I with HIV. HIV doesn't even compare to this - yet!!! I am happy that you made this video to inform the world Keep shining that light!!!
Crohn's has pretty much ruined my life as I knew it...
But you cant lose hope. "Wont let the darkness swallow me" !!! A better life is around the corner, it's just hard to see the light sometime. Years of pain. Surgery. Life changes i.e. food, work, social life... We can beat this sh*t : ) KEEP HEALTHY EVERYONE!
What gets me upset is I suffered with Crohn's Disease symptoms since a child and went to doctor after doctor and was always told it was something simple like a stomach flu..etc.. i'm now 23 years old and finally diagnosed with a severe case of Crohn's disease. My husband doesn't seem to understand he thinks that there is some type of magic pill that will take it away. Something natural. We got in a huge fight last night which we never do and it was all because of this stupid crohn's disease.
I also have crohn's disease and my fiancee doesn't understand what I go thru everyday, I mean, I tell him and he has been with me to the hospitals and emergency room and YET he still thinks I use it as a crutch, calls me lazy and it makes me so mad, cause he doesn't understand how bad this disease makes you feel and how it effects your quality of life. I have had 6 rectal fistulas in the last 8 months, I've been cut on and cut on and its like he has no sympathy for me :(
i hope everyone here can keep there strength to fight this terrible condition/disease or whatever it is that we all got.
i know how tough it is and can hardly stand it.
i have it severely and know the imbalances it causes in many ways (physical and psychological).
it brings on secondary problems like candida and toxins infiltrating the system with chemical imbalances leading to high tension or anxiety/irritability.
hang tough 'cause it's sheer torture when it's acting up!
How cool! I added it to my favorites. I have Crohn's too, I had one particularly bad year but for the most part, I'm pretty good AND have all my intestines, thank you. I'm on remmicade and it seems to be working for me. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
the work aspect can definitely suck. I was diagnosed 4 years ago and i used to work 3 jobs and now i work 3 shifts at one job becoz if i get sick i end up in hospital for an indetermined amount of time and its hard to find people who understand. Im really lucky my bosses now havent fired me yet!
I have crohns im 25 and drug free! check out scd diet, grab the book called Breaking the viscious cycle by Elain Gotschall it will change your life. msg me anytime
jaybaluk- i read the same book, i can simplify what works for me- stop eating white flour, sugar, and processed foods.
i had to go through a period of detoxification- at times i felt really horrible, exhausted- to anyone who may try this don't give up- it also helps to keep a daily log of what you've eaten and how your bowel movements are, how many times a day, etc. this way you can get an idea of what foods cause problems for you, because everyone is different.
I too live with crohn's and nice to see such high spirt in you too! We have to laugh at our problem and not let it ruin on time on earth! I also made a crohn's video of my fun time with it! I hope you enjoy it like I enjoyed yours!
an amazinginspiring video, i have chrones, diagnosed at 15, nw 16 and hving the opperation to remove the infected part of my bowel in 1 months time after my GCSE's. im very worried but i kowthat sadly its for the best, i will always have crohn's but it will never beat me !
Hey man, I had a resection too when I was about your age at the start of college after GCSE's, I couldn't carry on any longer with the pain and had to have a bit of an emerengry operation...i'm now 22 and haven't had any reoccurence of crohn's, the operation was the best thing I ever did !
Great video. I have Crohn's and in 1987 had more than half of my large and small bowel removed. AS a result I have short bowel syndrome and do TPN at home to avoid hospitalization. Life is good though, I was able to have a baby because of the TPN. Like your video, whenever my husband, son or dog can't find me, they look to the bathroom. Cheers.
Hey been dealing with crohns since 1990 and had to have a total colstomy in 2002.. I feel ya pain and nothing you can do about it.. trust me I have tried alot of doctors blow smoke up a persons ass if their not too busy putting tubes up it to see whats going on.. they tell you this is treatable and that it can be fixed.. they are not telling the truth.but never let it be said that we cant belive we can whip its ass..

Help.

Crohn's has been living with me for the last 10 years. In 2008 I found out just how deadly a relationship it is. I'm on my second surgery in 7 months and it's hard to believe any of the advice offered knowing all the side effects and costs and pain. A friend offered me a simple solution to rest my intestines and colon, he said just eat fruits and vegetables for the next 2 months and see if you have any flair-ups. for which I have not ! my video wayneo169 just after my first surgery March 2009

howeverr my doc is advising the use of "remicade"
anyone know anything about that?
alsoo, i have read that the effects of collodial silver are amazing when it comes to the immune/digestive system, i'd certainly advise ppl to research that before removing more intestine

Then as i began to feel better my doctor reduced my tablets weekly. So five tablets one week, then four then three and gradually my face went down. Hope this helps. You won't STOP Crohns with some mineral or vitamin! You need something to Shut OFF the immune system from attacking your GI tract!
I have Proctitis,
First thought it was due to gluten, next decided I had some bacteria in GI. To kill them decided to eat garlic daily and opted for minced garlic in water and phosphoric acid found near lettuce/potatoes...........Recently, I've discovered that Garlic INCREASES IL 10 which shuts OFF other cytokines that call for the immune system attack!
madmanatsea 2 years ago
I am 50, have had Crohns forever. Sod all the voodoo and crap advice, take the drugs. Only you know what works for you. I meditate and eat simple small meals 5 times a day, that works for me, and when it doesn't, I complain very loudly to my doctor until something is done. What I have learned is that suffering in silence doesn't get you anywhere in the health service. Complain before your symptoms get worse and nip the attack in the bud. Love to all you fellow sufferers.
Tringmum 2 years ago 2
You try garlic?
I've been taking it for 6 months now from my own meditation and recently discovered why it is working: Garlic INCREASES IL 10 in the intestines which shuts OFF the other cytokines calling for the immune system to Attack your gut.
Check the VIB animated video out on IL 10 and Crohns, Next do a google search of Garlic and IL 10..............

SilverDGS 3 years ago
Yeah, the dreaded pred does have that effect lol but dont worry, you cant use pred long term use because of osteoporosis (only when you have been using them continuously over a long period of time) in later life and stuff. When you are 'weened' off the steroids, you will find that you deflate to your former size after a month or two!! I was diagnosed at 15 and am now 18 :) Xx
charllvzryan 3 years ago
Your right about that. This one doctor I was seeing left me on steriods far too long. It thinned my bones to the point of having osteoperosis. The Dr. I seen for that told me I had the bones of an 80 year old (I was in my 20's) So then I had the added problem of having to make sure I cared for my bones and took therapy drugs to help correct that.
HomoDefiantz 3 years ago
Have they tried you on Entocort? It is similar to prednisone with less side effects (ie no more puffy face), but is fairly new with no generic and can be expensive depending on your insurance plan. I always request it because I can't tolerate oral prednisone. If your MD has not discussed it with you, ask him/her about it. Personally, it does wonders to stop a flare in its track and get weight back up to a healthy (and non-puffy) level.

Also, check out anne gittleman's 101 reasons sugar is bad for you. i believe that crohn's can be cured by diet- the drugs doctors prescribe only seem to make things worse- like taking imuran and throwing up after having diarrhea all day- how does that help!?
drugs are not the answer- what you eat IS!!!

i am 17 and was diagnosed about a year ago with a moderate case of crohn's. was on entocort and hated the acne, puffiness, etc. now im on imuran and feel fine. no social, dietary, or physical restrictions to speak of. with the development of more and more medications and such, i think that the vast majortity of people will find some treatment that is effective for them

HEYY.. about 8 mths ago i got diagnosed with Crohns when i was 16. =]

Wow, you're lucky. Not really but when I was admitted to the hospital I was in there for like 5 months before they know what was up. THEY ALMOST DID A BONE CULTURE! That would have sucked. Oh, and my weight loss was about 85 pounds O.o It sucked.

ive had crohns for about a year and a 1/2. the disease has esculated recently and ive got to take imuran at night and it makes me throw up like heaps and i cant drink water other wise i throw up but my body will get use to it in about 2 weeks im told. but with out this imuran i feel fine!! i dont know why i gotta take it....
Ashdaddio 3 years ago
Some of the medicines I used to take made me wake up during the night and throw up. And it really depends on the pills. I've taken Prednisone which is a steroid and it took maybe a week to get in full effect. Others may take longer or shorter.

I love this video and the way its been put together :D makes me feel alot more positive and hopefull that i can beat this disease!
One thing though, in the facts at the beginning, it says that crohns only affects the small intestine. It can affect the whole digestive system through from your mouth to your anus.
running out of letters remaining lol . . .ill continue in another post ;)

For me, it ran pretty much EVERYWHERE. Joints were totally eaten up, mouth was horrid, blood coming from the ass, everything.

So try LOL

I have had 6 rectal fistulas in the last 8 months, I've been cut on and cut on and its like he has no sympathy for me :(

i hope everyone here can keep there strength to fight this terrible condition/disease or whatever it is that we all got.
i know how tough it is and can hardly stand it.
i have it severely and know the imbalances it causes in many ways (physical and psychological).
it brings on secondary problems like candida and toxins infiltrating the system with chemical imbalances leading to high tension or anxiety/irritability.
hang tough 'cause it's sheer torture when it's acting up!
peace!

How cool! I added it to my favorites. I have Crohn's too, I had one particularly bad year but for the most part, I'm pretty good AND have all my intestines, thank you. I'm on remmicade and it seems to be working for me. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

I like the "I don't live with Crohn's; it lives with me" part... that's a good way of looking at it. (Mine's been living with me for sixteen + years.)
It only occured to me today to search on "Crohn's" here, and this was the first thing I found. Good video. :)

true but it only worsens the ability to find a job that pays well because of drug testing.
it's already tough enough trying to explain why i am always sick much less go through more scrutiny.
i hear you though.

the work aspect can definitely suck. I was diagnosed 4 years ago and i used to work 3 jobs and now i work 3 shifts at one job becoz if i get sick i end up in hospital for an indetermined amount of time and its hard to find people who understand. Im really lucky my bosses now havent fired me yet!

jaybaluk- i read the same book, i can simplify what works for me- stop eating white flour, sugar, and processed foods.
i had to go through a period of detoxification- at times i felt really horrible, exhausted- to anyone who may try this don't give up- it also helps to keep a daily log of what you've eaten and how your bowel movements are, how many times a day, etc. this way you can get an idea of what foods cause problems for you, because everyone is different.

Hey man, I had a resection too when I was about your age at the start of college after GCSE's, I couldn't carry on any longer with the pain and had to have a bit of an emerengry operation...i'm now 22 and haven't had any reoccurence of crohn's, the operation was the best thing I ever did !

i heard the same from someone i know.
no more problems and now he's kinda chunky as opposed to his previous skinny self.
i was told prior to steer away from that procedure but now considering it.
