  • hah he tossed his guitar through doms drum when i was at lollapalooza too

  • Goshhh, Chris is the best on the bass!! :P

  • so glad i was there, it was outstanding

  • I WISH I COULD !

  • FUCK YEAAAA

  • Seeing him smash a $5000+ guitar makes me cry. T___T

  • F*#CKING SENSATIONAL!!! BEST ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD!!! Great to see Matt getting back to that crazy side he had back in the Hullaballo days!!!

    AWESOME - AWESOME - F*#CKING AWESOME!!!!

  • Well that's what I'm talking about !!

I love Dom's voice at the beginning and the POWER of Matt's guitaR . . :D

  • is it me or does chris look bored throughout the whole gig?

  • @musejames93 i know right?

  • @musejames93

No its because he's concentrating? Its not like everyone can play some kickass guitar whilst still looking like the coolest man on earth

  • @musejames93 ha ha ha Chris never changes, he's just a super cool dude!!!

He must have a great chiropractor though eh??

  • I swear they were nervous during this show because they played every just like the album version and didn't mess around with them like they normally do during their live shows.

  • @slannmage I'm sorry. Did you see Matt Bellamy swing his guitar around by the strap and it flying metres into the air and he just left it? If that's not messing around, I don't know what is

  • @slannmage not for the 2nd half with the greatest hits (sweet child of mine during hysteria...?). Maybe most of the oos half of the show was true to the sound on the album because most of those songs havent been played in years. It's not like they play those songs at every show anymore so they arent comfortable changing it up as much. They still kicked ass harder than any other band who played at the festival

  • @L0ngfellow9

I'm a massive Muse fan but their performance left me a little bit disappointed at Reading, it just didn't have the charisma that I usually see from them.

I've never listened to or seen The Streets before but they blew me away and were my fave band at Reading.

  • @slannmage okay fair enough. They aren't as young as they used to be for sure. But the scale of their shows is like nothing I've ever seen and the quality of their playing is still superb.

  • Matt Bellamy is a beast on the guitar!

  • 8:08 there i am! ;0)

  • How and why is there a dislike bar on this video?! It just does not make sence!

  • @randomguy123ish youtube cant spell jealous

  • Connard de guitariste, niquer une guitare a au moins 3500€ putain!

  • this is one of the great performances people will look back on in years to come, and i will be able to say i was there!

  • For those asking where are the emotions of pre-2004 i'd say to you that 30 something guys spacking about on stage doesn't exactly look great!

  • hope this show will be releashed someday in dvd or something... if you pay attention near the drums (and in other places of the stage) there are those 360 cameras that they also used in wembley!!

  • @xjimdim xmas present i bet

  • @xjimdim Hell yeah!!! I'm still waiting for HAARP and Seaside Rendezvous to be released on dvd!! The songs are the same but the staging changes everything!!

  • GO MUSE!!!! :D, best band in the world!!!! :D

  • this was their best one by FAR!!!!!! every1 was moshing like crazy!!!!!!

  • I was in the middle of the front section at Leeds and I still felt my eyeballs melting when the flamethrowers went off.

  • 08:10 over and over again!!!!!! :)

  • 03:05 Aguero

  • I was there and i'm pretty sure the bass drum got replaced really quick just after SS..just doesn't show it on broadcast. Jus sayin :)

  • I want to hear songs like Microcuts, Dark Shines, etc! There are only songs which band played ever gig, but why? I dont hear anything about new DVD. So, give us rare Muse songs on YouTube! Sorry for my English, I'm from Ukraine)

  • Did I hear Negative Creep and Endless, Nameless by Nirvana near the end?

  • @discohunter12 check the description. yes you did.

  • @twimatt Didn't notice that, thanks! I'm a huge fan of Nirvana so it just instantly came to mind :D

  • The only bad thing with this song is that the guitar riff right after Dom stopped talking made me think they were gonna play Dead Star... :(

  • @Kihlberg90 I know what you mean! When i was there, i first they hoped they might open with it, then do origin but i was wrong. but when thet did this in the middle of the set made me hope that they might do this as the heave second to last song :/ wrong again :'( i live in hope that it will get another play...

  • @ImMclovinMuse Well, the day we hear Dead Star live, we could die happy ^^

  • So this is when matt went for a dump.

  • alter das ende ist mal geil.

  • this was one of the most AMAZING performances since the begining of time! ive liked favorite and posted on fb but i still dont believe ive given it the recognition it deserves

  • He should have flame-throwered his guitar..

  • At Leeds festival, they had 15 flamethrowers. At Reading, they used 10 and they were of a shorter length, as the ones in Leeds melted the front and top of the stage. I was at the barrier in Reading and they were fucking hot. I must imagine the people on the barrier at Leeds would of melted.

  • @Horowitz01111 I don't know how you survived barrier, I was about 10-15 rows back and my face practically melted every time they went off! haha

  • @Mr757dude Muse were the loudest band of the day. Of the others sounded shite

  • it was just the frikin' best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank god he's not using the glitterati for this one. I always thought it sucked the sharpness out of the riff. Delorean replica ftw. You can actually hear the guitar growl again. Savage.

  • 7:32 I love how the guitar is still screaming while he swings it.

  • Guitar smashing has become part Bellamy's onstage persona. Personally, I wish he would smash them more often like the Showbiz and Hullabaloo days, although the windmill throw was pretty impressive.

  • Why is your upload volume so low?

  • @94mcliam apparently muse were really quiet compared to other bands at reading and leeds, its probably that

  • @Mr757dude I was 2 meters from the front. It was not quiet.

  • @94mcliam of course its gonna be painfully loud if you're at the barrier, i mean quietER than some of the other bands

  • @94mcliam i feel your pain. i was too at the barrier, amazing

  • @10rrandall was worth all the crushing though, was a brilliant night :D

  • <3 <3 <3

  • matt bellamyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy *_*

  • Dom's:why me....???

Matt's:fuc**d this bass drum...haha..after this you play HELSINKI JAM with a hole..

  • OMG THAT INTRO MADE MY SKIN TINGLE.

  • OUTRO longer than the song itself

  • Proud to say I was there :D

  • negative creep riff !

  • Matt walks away from the mic. "Oh shit wait, I WISH I COULD!"

  • just fucking perfect

  • that fire was HOT

  • @jeromeefy I know right! Epic stuff

  • this is what i want in MUSE!! fucking hardcore, finally

  • matt needs to b more carful he might kill dom

  • 2:48 - THAT'S ME!

  • @GlastFestival no it's not, that's actually me i went

  • @MrAlexbache uve got a fucking fat ass so i cant be you....

  • I LOVE the fact Matt played a bit of the opening riff from a Deftones song, 'My Own Summer' after Dom asked the crowd how they liked the Deftones playing! How awesome! I love them both!! And a fitting song for a summer festival!

  • Muse are, without a shadow of a doubt, the best live band in the world

  • @606GMan they amazing live however i would like to see them interact with the crowd more aswell as playing amazing music!

  • I love it when just as the song ends, there is a moment where Matt decides what outro riff to play :D

  • Holy crap, they're back on form! they haven't palyed like this since OOS came out! fitting, I guess.

  • I liked and added this video to my favorites before it even started

  • I wish he would give me the guitar, rather than smashing it up :D and a bass drum skin for that matter!

  • 2:48 - That's me.

  • the riff at the very end better be in the next album

  • Wow. This is the heavy raw Muse we used to get back in the Showbiz days, when they just didn't give a fuck and went mental. This was the best I've seen Muse in a while, and that bass/drum jam at the end... fuck that was amazing.

  • @LewiSaunders Yeah man i know, was so amazing. Oh and if you didn't know that jam at the end is known as the "Helsinki Jam" they've been playing it on their recent tour.

  • Chris' backing vocals in this are amazing. There needs to be a song in the next album where he sings the main vocals... give Matt some time to play like, piano and guitar at the same time.

  • @MasterofEtherium chris is pretty shy i dont think hed be up for it

  • @MasterofEtherium i think whether matt is singing or not, it would still be pretty hard to play piano and guitar at the same time

  • haha, dom scratching his back at 2:26 :D

  • Matt's tone has definitely gone a lot heavier!

  • love how dom was keeping an eye on matts guitar wen he threw it around at the end guess he didnt want a repeat of last time :P

  • 7:24-7:28 btw :P

  • I was there!

  • I felt those flames...feared for my eyebrows, eyelashes ~ whatnot. (X Epic! x

  • 7:27 dom "dont hurt me like last time" lol

  • 2:27 Yeah, Dom, playing the drums and scratching your back at the same time. That's talent. Rock on, man! :D

  • Best Stockholm Syndrome in a long time, possibly the greatest. And why does it have to be the Delorean which gets killed? Why??? I could have had that guitar! D:

  • @museobsessed17 matt doesnt use the delorean anymore(unfortulately ) it's "retired" the guitar he using is the ali top which looks the same but it doesnt have the fuzz factory built in like the delorean and doesnt have the two knobs at the end...anyway if it was the delorean matt would never kill it. its his signature guitar

  • @mcrochev94 Was about to say just that, MAtt said that if he could keep just one, the DeLorean would be it. It was the first custom guitar he had built. That wasn't the DeLorean he smashed.

  • @mcrochev94 Actually that doesn't quite look like the Ali Top...the pickups on this guitar is different and the Ali Top has a tremolo bar. It's actually a lot closer to the DeLorean i.e. the black p90 pickups, the more rusted, industrial look. I think Matt's using the DL-1 guitar line.

  • theres something unusual in this performance

  • Wow! THIS outro, the performance itself, those fire, Matt breaking the guitar, Dom's look, the moment all you can see is Chris' fat ass. Historical!

  • @DemonicC0ward He threw/tossed that guitar 4 times for Leeds and Reading and reused it after every time he did, the 4th time was the unlucky one...

  • @DemonicC0ward chris aint fat he looks very lean here i thought

  • @madmamadog i`m saying fat ass cause that`s what he tweeted lol :P

  • @DemonicC0ward Chris isn't fat no more.

  • This rivals SS at glastonbury and pinkpop 2004 and I never thought I would say that in a million years. And Helsinki Jam with a giant hole through the bass drum...classy ;)

  • @BeautifulTragedyx21 this is magic! but t in the park 2004 takes a bit of beating was there blew me away shivers and all that. check it out worth a look. stockholm syndrome and plug in baby amazing! WATCH IT!

  • @beckley1985 Oh thanks so much for that! Incredible...as always...

  • @BeautifulTragedyx21 2004 was way better. This is just a fire show. Boring. Back then, it had balls!

  • @bobek3x No. This is a top grade performance of this song, and I say this as someone who watches/listens to live shows from the Absolution era all the time.

  • @rocket83cs Yeah, but are the emotions? Where is the rawness? It maybe performed much more professionally but that's it. You know, it's not all about perfection. In my opinion, the shows form 2004 were much more sincere, pure and awesome. But think whatever you like :)

  • @bobek3x

They seemed very nervous during Reading and not allowing their older songs being shown on TV proved this as they care about the quality of their music. So i really doubt the love for what they do has gone or they wouldn't have cared. I just think the sound has gotten so much better as they become better musicians and that is what you're confusing as being cold. Plus don't forget they are in their 30s and don't have as much energy as their mid 20s.
