It is not officially supported, however can be installed manually.

Yes, it requires that extra plugins be purchased (which I have done). They are certainly worth it if you intend to use the formats.

Got a feiw questions.. 1- is it worth sellin my ithouch n usn that $ to buy this? 2-- $ my ithouch i use itunes to get my music what i use wit this to get music? and 3-- is youtube built in and if so is it better on this thatn the itouch?

The Archos 7 does not have a built-in YouTube application. YouTube can be accessed via the web browser.

To copy music to it, you can connect it to your PC and transfer MP3 files directly to it. It also has the ability to sync as a Windows Media device (DRM-Free iTunes music can also be transferred in this way).

As to whether you should sell your iPod Touch for it, that is dependent on whether you think you would miss the ability to play games/download applications.

It should show a blue play button. If not, try reloading the page.

Hey, I was just wondering, what would you think would be the best to have: Ipod Touch 32gig or this Archos 7 160gig? I would mostly use it for watching movies, but I also like playing games, and exactly how big is this thing? Like in CM or something, want to be able to fit it in my pocket since I don't like carrying stuff around.

If you are interested in gaming also, I would recommend the iPod Touch.

Dimensions are 7.5cm x 4.3cm.

Yeah, but with the Ipod Touch you would need to buy every single game instead of using Flash games, that you can get pretty much anywhere, for free. I'm thinking of getting an Archos 5 Android though, do you know if those are any good?

Internet faster than Ipod touch.

I hear that Android is faster than the 1 i had so that may be the good thing for Archos 5 Android.

I'm debating between this version, or 5. Even though my main attraction is music, I do have quite a lot of videos as well. Somebody told me it's almost as big as a UMD case, would this be true?

The Archos 7 is slightly larger than a UMD case. Although I have not seen a UMD case in person, so let's say slightly larger than a PSP.

The Archos 5 is slightly smaller than a PSP.

For music, either would be ideal, as both versions are available with the same HDD sizes.

Its the Archos 7 Original DVR Station and just looking to hook it up direct to my Virgin box and record channels straight to the unit which its intended purpose but very confusing how this is done.

If you dont have a DVR I doubt you will know.

Apologies, I misunderstood you.

I have sent you a link via PM to a PDF which explains the configuration of the DVR dock. Connecting it to the Virgin box should be as simple as connecting the video cable to the output on the box (or using a SCART adaptor if necessary).

Do you have a DVR by any chance, I have bought one and have no idea how to set the thing up. A review on that would be amazing if possible.

I am only wanting to link it direct to my Virgin box to record TV and not bothered about displaying on large TV set

The closest thing I have had to a DVR is a PCI TV card running under Windows Media Centre to record TV from my Sky box.

Is this similar to what you intend to do? If so, could you list the brand and model of your DVR?

The reason I ask is on my old 605 Wifi you could really view the screen from any angle without problem

Excellent review, helped me loads with some stuff I was not sure about.

I bought this last week and totally love it and quite a big upgrade from my older 605wifi model but can I ask if you can check something out for me,

when you tilt the screen slight backwards do you find the picture becomes very hard to make out, it seems to either have to been straight up looking directly at you or slightly slanted for best picture. Is that right?

Yes, you are right. The screen becomes darker and murky when tilted backwards. Best viewing is from directly in front, or slightly above.
