Actually, he opened up a new curve... Level adjustment is to curve adjustment as axes are to chisels.

I meant a new level of photography. My older version of Photoshop Elements does not have curves.

Thanks! This was really useful - i used it on a picture of an overcast, snowy day - the values were all deep blue, and the curves tool made it look like a totally different picture!

I'm interested in a GIMP or ImageMagick tutorial on batch processing multiple images, I would like to apply the same Curve adjustment to about 1000 images. I'm using ImageMagick to batch resize images but I can't figure out how to apply Curves. Thanks.
