I would personally think that the reference is to both Mario Kart and Super Mario 64- there's a little overlap.

Super Mario 64- the music, and the fact that in Rainbow Ride the magic carpets you rode on followed a rainbow path. Also, the slides originate from that game.

Mario Kart- the name 'Rainbow Road' as it's a track in every game in the series

So, I think it's a Super Mario 64 style slide with a Mario Kart paint job

@jamilmustafa he hits a certain combination of buttons on a device called the wii remote which also comes with a nunchuk. the nunchuk contains a small analog stick that you move around to move the characer and/or anything else. these are included in the combination of button presses you must do to complete this game. what you look at while playing is a bright box with thousands of tiny pixls emmiting a combination of colors that produce images. that is to be looked at while playing. HAVE FUN :D

Did you hear the chime at 1:03? That's the Comet Medal. You need to take the right path down, and it will be in plain sight.

You know how Mario Kart Wii's Rainbow Road was partially based off of Good Egg Galaxy?

I wouldn't be surprised if they based Mario Kart 3DS' Rainbow Road after this.

Music refers to the sliding stage, probably since that's basically what this is.

I don't think any of the Rainbow Road songs would have fit the galaxy and its pace, honestly.

@PokeLover3500M This is quite an easy stage. I don't even have to pay much attention to get to the end here so I decided to go for speed. I'd say it's easier than the Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy or even the Rolling Green Galaxy.

It was weird, but I found the Toads' silly rolling-related puns to be distracting, even through they weren't actually audible. Curse me for having to read everything!

It was even worse during the Purple Coin stage.

@Raichu111092 That was probably the point of it. It's supposed to distract you because much of the time, far-away speech balloons like these are warnings or pointers.
