u need SHSH blobs if you did jailbreak your idevice before you upgrade and if you did you must downgrade to that version otherwise it wont work

A different way to he your idevice out of recovery mode is to run redsn0w in the just boot mode even on your non Jailbroken device and it will boot it and If it is not Jailbroken it will simply give you an error but your device will still boot!

I have not backed up any shsh blobs from the priot IOS 4 version. I also do not need to jailbreak it, I just simply want to go back to the IOS that doesn't have that stupid notification center that gets in the way. There is a way to turn it off on the ipad, but not the ipod and it is driving my toddler crazy. Thank you!!
