Look, I was a fan of Erica Flores too but I also think Jessica Bowman does a great job too. Actors replace other actors on tv shows all the time. Remember the two Darrin's from 'Bewitched'? These aren't soaps were they make an announcement on the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately as viewers we're just along for the ride. : (

I just can't believe the way they went about changing the actresses though. Honestly, some warning for the fans would be respectable. Also, why didn't they write this into the story somehow instead of just completely changing her character as if it was insignificant?

Just for the record everyone, they did NOT get rid of Erika because she was getting too "fat". It washer own choice to leave the show. She did so because she felt like she was missing out on her teenage years. She wanted to go school like a regular kid with her friends.

i know i agree with everyone else i liked Erika, she was really good at her role. i mean yeah Jessica isnt bad but not as good as Erika. I think Erika was just made for this part and who cares if she gained weight it is apart of life. Then all of a sudden the weight isnt there anymore her body is just changing. Plus what does weight have to do with anything its not like it was going to get serious or anything. I am not trying to dis on Jessica, but come on i miss Erika. SHE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

they got rid of erika because she was getting to heavy for the part, which is crap... all girls go through that at a certain age--if you know what i mean. so rather than dealing with it they just thought it was easier to fire her and replace her with the new one, which i cannot stand. her overacting annoys the heck out of me.

The show must go on.. they did what they had to do, I guess (changing actresses). I'm glad they didn't kill her off. It took me a bit to get used to Jessica Bowman but I ended up liking her. I'm sure Erica's dad kicked himself after making her quit for more money so early on. She could've went on for 4 more seasons.

I felt so sad when I watched all the credits and they had to edit every shot Erika Flores was in :( it made it seem like she was never there! and they messed up because the shot where mike and the kids are riding away in the wagon leaving sully, he originally had blood on the side of his mouth and no facial hair and the edited version, he has a huge facial beard! it just makes me sad that erika was replaced :(

I remember now I stopped watching the show because they changed Colleen. I had missed a few episodes, and I first thought it was a completely new character who replaced Colleen, and I was mad Dr. Mike and everybody could just forget her like that. Then I realised who she was supposed to be and I was "they expect us to believe that? She doesn't even look like Colleen !"

No, she actually just didn't want to commit to 5 years that that time in her life, but the producers forced everyone to sign another contract for 5 years and wouldn't budge, so she passed. I wish they would have been more flexible.

Erika was such a talented actress - wish I could say the same about Jessica. Also, the whole point of acting is to embody the character - it isn't up to the actor what the character should be. The fact that Colleen changed so much after Jessica came on just goes to show what a lousy actress Jessica is.

I really like Jessica Bowman as Colleen. I love her as she has gotten older, especially her relationship with Andrew Cook. I'm glad Jessica made Colleen her own character rather than trying to act like Erika's Colleen. They are different, but I think Jessica made the character her own and it worked. I think Jessica was a fine replacement.
