@gliderman4rjp I designed and built the magnetic boom. It's extremely light weight but stiff because i also reinforced it w/ external Spectra bracing. Many pilot have copied my basic design using the materials they have available to each of them. Have you seen my video that shows the boom?
I have watched this and others a few times now, "they r great!" well done, keeo them coming. what camera type were you using? and was it conected to your leading edge cross tube secction?.
Nice video! I like the landing exactly over the star. It shows your perfect control over the wing. Is it possible to dive up to the sand and than come back?
@jtsquid Thanks Peter. Torrey can be a lot of fun and makes a nice break from all mountain thermal flying. I hope I get a couple of good days there this year myself.
@jtsquid LOLOL - I'm half brain dead. ;-) I saw Bauhaus live at a small club in Chicago a long, long time ago. I got to watch the whole show about 5 feet from the band. The lead singer's facial expressions during Bella Lugosi's Dead were great. I didn't understand the blowtorch burn on his chest however. That looked like some serious self-inflicted pain. :-O
@83Bach Thanks! There are thermals and at one point I joined a flock of gulls out over the ocean in a column. I have a bunch of videos w/ camera mounted on chin guard. "69 Miles of Hang Gliding Exhilaration".
@Edflyspy Thank you. I use a GoPro HD that's attached to the top of a long and lightweight boom. The boom is attached to the sail using an array of 3/4" x 1/8" neodymium magnet discs. I will eventually publish a video showing how this simple system works and is attached. The first and last songs are by Robert Fripp, from: Kan-Non Power. The middle song is The Dog's A Vapour by Bauhaus.
@NMERider Another brilliant video Jonathan, I've just upgraded to a Panasonic SD600 1080p camera and really curious about your set up, I'm trying to do something similar, so will watch this space.
Are these long boom camera mounts easy to get hold of; along with neodymium magnets and are they expensive?, cannot believe how stable the are!.

@gliderman4rjp Thanks. The camera was mounted on a long boom that was attached to the lower surface by a series of neodymium magnets.

what I love about Hang gliding, its peaceful, its quiet, its birdlike.
What I don't like is that you are stuck going around in circles unless you catch a thermal, You can't fly cross country at low altitudes.

@kokalti Then it's more like dancing than sailing. It's all good.

Hey, nice video Jonathan! I really enjoyed that light at sundown!
But are there thermals too or is it just soaring?
Have you ever thought of mounting your cam to your helmet? I think that would be produce great videos too!

What camera are you using?
How do you have it mounted in that position?
What is the music - very cool music that suits the video very well?
Well Done
