the drummer is named Nathan DeFoor-i used to hang out with these guys when they played the Opera House in Warm Springs, GA & Southland Music Park in Woodbury, GA-this was from like 79-83---Rick plays in Athens locally in Athens now-haven't seen Joel nor Nathan in over 30 yrs.-i do know Joel is a schoolteacher- these guys could really rock!!
rick and joel are two of the greatest musicians to come out of georgia and both are humble and are great people with this many hits on youtube this quick they should put a show together for all the fortknox fans rick sold out a show in carrollton a few months ago with his band and I bet you they could get a couple thousand people to come see them now in the right venue with the right promotion.
let's hope my southern fried brain brought this back up for a reason and it gets tons of hits, love you Rick Fowler, Joel Ship and pardon my lack of brain cells to pull up the other member, but you guys put us on the map!!11
ok, ok with the Mr. Ship, lol, don't you wish you had partied with "Mr. Ship, Joel, and Mr. Fowler, Rick back in the day? DeeconLittle, Fortnox, and Bombay. Ok, do you one better, I still have the 33 album
I was first exposed to Fortnox when they were known as Deacon Little. My brother met Rick when he live in Carrolton and attended West Georgia College.
I went to tech school with Rick. Joel used to own Shipps Music in Carrollton. Nathan lives close by. Rick mixed some tapes for us, and he is a nut. In a fun way. Really great guys. Loved Sewer System and Fortnox.
I bought the lp when I heard this song on rock radio, also due to Bob Nalbandian's mention of it in The Headbanger fanzine. This band is similar to Axe (Rock and Roll Party in the Streets) I was thinking about sending a line to Wounded bird records to have them put this on cd along with Wishbone Ash' 'Twin Barrels Burning' as it is EXPENSIVE for a used copy on Amazon. Also Grand Funk Lives I think never made it to cd. But yeah, I love that Fortnox lp. 'Another Lady' is a song I love.
I have the lp and wish I could find it on cd. My brother saw them in concert in '82 opening up for The Johnny Van Zant Band and bought it right after. He was blown away by it as was I. It is still one of my all time favorite albums.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the album? I had this album in the early 80s and loved the song Lucifers Eyes...I've been searching for years.
just found some good info on Fortnox from glory-dazedotcom. it also has a 2002 interview with Rick Fowler and he explains why some of the songs are "off" in key....great info.
Holy shiite! I remember this album and was one of my favs in the 80's. This video is a first for me too. Too bad this album isn't circulated anymore. Preesh the old memories!
These guys were huge in Atlanta GA. I remember them selling out the AGora many times. YOu cannot believe what a great live band they were. Joel Shipp was an incredible singer. I live near Atlanta. He is playing in a country band now. I don't know what the other guys are doing.
I have never seen this video before. You tube is amazing. I remember these guys from my teen years. One of many great 3 piece bands. Anyone got the video for Hyperock?
Use to watch them play ... awesome band!
