Yes, the entire statue was laser scanned in pieces and then put back together in Rhino. Then it was imported into Artcam and sliced into 4 in lifts which is the max relief you can cut on my table (there is more z travel, but when you add the long bit to the material depth 4in is about the deepest you can go.
The prep was the hardest part, once the files were ready to cut they took about 2-4 hours per lift with about 6 lifts. The actual cutting was about 20% of the time of the job.
if you had dust extracton hooked up to it, it would have been great i would have been able to see what was happening.

I always like this sort of thing. have you a finished video or a video of the pouring and cleaning up of the statue?
I love Rhino and I will save up for it one day but at the moment I have too many things to buy.
