This was done while I was at Film Roman for a new story that was being done about Film Roman, so that's why all of the posters are for Film Roman shows. It was also a sneaky way for me to slip Slacker Cats in the background behind him when he stops. This was done just a week or so before Slacker Cats premiered.

I haven't played with CS4 yet but I'm hoping to get my hands on it soon. I've heard that you can do parenting with it now which will make animating much easier. Also, I know that you can export a SWF with the sound in Flash but I don't think you can export a Quicktime with the sound. I'm sure there are other programs that can be used to marry the sound and picture. iMovie would probably work just as well.

yes, actually you can export it with sound. I hope to actually work for Film ROman when I grow up for like the simpsons. So do you guys use adobe products? and also do you work for a whole bunch of shows, or 1 show?

There's a lot of Photoshop and After Effects and Flash but they're also using a lot of ToonBoom products now too. Most of the boarding is done in ToonBoom Storyboard Pro. Even the Simpsons is starting to do layout in Storyboard Pro. The whole studio is finally/reluctantly going digital.

Yeah, I was wondering what kind of programs you use. I was wondering if you used adobe, but I also thought that you might use toonboom, but thank god you only use toonboom for storybords lol. I downloaded it and it's pretty complicated lol. My mom had got me flash CS4 for my birthday, I figured you also used after effects too. Well, thanks for the information!!!

I think he means the face design and the way the mouths move. JTT is incredibly similar. Especially the wide eyes and the mouth as it pokes out of the face and retracts to that overbite.

They own the show so there's no taking it somewhere else. They are planning on the other 6 episodes hitting the web soon though.

jesus, all ur flash are amazing.. this is exactly what i wanted to do but thought all animation was outsourced... uve inspired me again. although flash is very clean.. theres something robotic about its animation.. when u use its tweening features.. instead of drawing it over and over again... at least it saves time..

anyways ive subscribed and now a big fan of urs can't wait to see more..

IT's all Flash. I pose it out traditionally really rough and then do the cleaner drawings of the parts and make symbols of them and then animate them. It's more complicated than that but that's the basic idea.

This was actually part of a news story they were doing on Film Roman after the Simpson's movie came out about the fact that 2D animation is alive and well.
