Wait--are you putting in romaji? If that's the case, that may be why it's not working, you can't use english letters in UTAU. You have to use hiragana.
Don't worry, though, if you go to Wikipedia and search for hiragana, it'll give you a full list of the symbols you can use. Just copy them from there and paste them into UTAU!
Um.. Which version did you download? Did you download the one you have to install or the one you have to unzip? If you dwownloaded the one you have to unzip, try downloading the one you have to install. And vice versa for the installing one. If that doesn't work, try using a different character's voicebank. Hope this helps! ^^' If those don't work, pm or reply to me. I'll try my best to find out what's happening
The only way I found UTAU to work was changing the voice's syllabuls into romaji instead of using japanese text. It takes awhile but if you ever get free time, that's the best thing to do. (You can find the kanji charts and etc searching google)
Japanese at the menu is not displayed. It seems that the Shift JIS code cannot be treated. And Romaji has not corresponded to a phonetic symbol in UTAU.
il translate. ur comp cant output proper japanese and you cant use tetos or momos or whos ever voice bank because you can only use romaji (a, ba, sa and so on) and there voice banks use hirigana (あ, ば, さ and so on)
same problem with me xD

OKAY!
I've found a solution!
You need to download AppLocale, then go to Control Panel - Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, - Regional and Language Options
And in the box that comes up:
Go to the "Languages" tab, check the two boxes, and then continue to the "Advanced" tab.
In the drop down menu, select Japanese for the language for non-Unicode programs. (This does not change your system language.)
Then run UTAU through AppLocale and type your lyric in Hiragana.

Yep, except you don't need to DL AppLocale. I had it already on my comp. ^_^

No, that can't be. My VB is in Romaji too, but it works. The reason could be that there are spaces in the filename, that don't work.

I made a English Tutorial for UTAU.
In a few days I will add a segment on how to add your own voice.
Smoshrules247 3 years ago
But I just noticed that I'm under my brother's youtube account..
You can find the tutorial by typing in "Kusabana-kun" and finding the user - "stumph."
The tutorial is there..
