Excelente, reportaje creo que una de las cosas que se le pueden agradecer al tirano es esa gentileza que tubo de aceptar a los judíos aquí y qué bueno que hayan personas que estén haciendo este tipo de museos para que la historia se conozca y no muera.
this is a nice in one way and in another because trujillo want jew to make the country beutiful not in working but in the people in that time they were alot of dark people in the south were i am from well trujillo ......and it a beutiful history because some of the jew were saved and some of then went back to germany and some came to new york city...
Trujillo did many bad things but if he got into Paradise it was because of this. Un hombre malo y violento, Trujillo. Ademas por eso, se gano Paraiso.
I am from Dominican Republic and 100% jewish, my family came to the Dom. Rep. in that same time. Thanks for posting the video, many people are very ignorant when it comes to culture and Dom. Rep. itself.....currently there are two synagogues in the country and there are still some jewish families.
I too was at the exhibit opening. My maternal grandparents are the couple feeding the goat & chickens on the posters, invite, etc. My mother was in Sweden until 1948, she was reunited with her parents & met my father in Sosua. I highly recommend the book Dominican Haven by Marion Kaplan, it tells the entire untold history of these people, and their fleeing the Nazi's. It also has fabulous photos from the exhibit.
The funny thing about all this, is all the nations and tribes of JACOB went around the world and were blessed. This is just further proof that God blesses those that keep his word and commandments, no matter what place you live or what parents you have .. what you do, where you heart is , that is what God blesses consistantly
It's basically saying that when all the countries said no to the jews, the Dominican Republic said yes, with the only condition to work the land. It's a nice story because most of the jews were professionals so in order to be free they said yes. Sosua has a beutiful history, the Jews are co-founders of this township. Productos Sosua was the signature Jewish company in the area(cheese, milk, etc.)excellent butter by the way and good Dominican-jewish salami.I believe they were purchased by Mexicans.
