I've managed to upgrade my Pro's graphics card to the ATI Radeon HD 4870. I thought about maybe putting in the 4870 crossfire but I don't have that kinda money, and It only works with windows. Wasn't any harder than upgrading a PC's, but most other macs make it almost impossible to do any upgrades (other than the HD and RAM). Apple is well known for soldering in it's GPUs and CPUs :(.

Even if they do, hope that the next OSX revision doesn't break the drivers because they weren't authorized or the hardware wasn't authorized. Or you could go with Apple certified hardware that costs three times as much and has a much narrower selection. It's your choice really.
But like all computers built in a factory instead of by a user, the people selling it to you don't want it to be upgraded. They're afraid you'll realize that buying the components yourself is often cheaper and they'll lose business.

Agreed, but i updated my Mac to 1.5 tb internal hd in about 30 mins, well worth it lol, clock out the ram at 8 gigs...
You can change parts on macs just as easy as PCs, as long as you know what you are doing...
I built PCs as well as Macs...I have a PC for working on SHIM's at home, and a MAC for doing my editing work...
My desk is very cluttered with about 6 monitors... LOL
