j russell = 7-18 career starter, 52% compl rating, 18 td, 23 int
in 08....russell had pedestrian but not overly bad stats with 13 td and 8 int...so in a sense....leaf is still the worst qb to ever play the game.

i wouldn't be so sure. i graduated from WSU the same year Ryan Leaf left for NFL, and i have met and talked to him numerous times when i was in college since one of my friends was a back-up runningback for the team. from what i saw, ryan was a decent and humble human being who enjoyed what he did for living and had genuine jest for life. i don't know what happened to him afterwrad, but he was a really good guy when i knew him.

Russel can be a great player if he wanted too but he got lazy and fat and his contract money makes J.Russel the biggest bust of all time. Ryan Leaf can sleep happy. @Crabman2186 Chargers actually had 2 Future hall of famers on defense and a great all around defense that kind of gave up after Leaf and the rest of the offense played so bad through the first half of the season . Russell had better weapons on offense (not much better ) Leaf also Argued constantly with Seau and Harrison the 2 best players on the team and the Hall of fame GM . He was a shit disturber Constantly . He refused to play thru or get injuries fixd .He just got put on 10 years probation

@Crabman2186 Nobody thought Russel should have been the first pick except the Raiders . Alot of people thought Leaf should be picked ahead of PEYTON MANNING . Leaf got paid comparitive money to Russell's and Russell Had more touchdowns , less interceptions , higher completion percentage , better qb rating and most importantly a higher winning percentage .( Leafs was below .200!) .Leaf was without a doubt the bigger bust .

(1). As I've mentioned on other YouTube videos, Al Davis being involved in anything nowadays makes any player less of a bust. He no longer has a clue as to how to run the Raiders, and...
(2). In 2008 Russell did have occasional flashes of excellence, while Leaf had exactly one good game, count 'em ONE, during his brief tenure in the NFL.

Boy Peyton Manning threw mre Intres than Tds his rookie year. He wasn't surrounded with pro bowlers, but he rose to the a future HOF QB.
Eli Manning had more pressure than Leaf to do good, being Peyton's brother (with Peyton winning a SB), but Eli rose and won a Super Bowl, now the highest paid QB ever.
