And thats just the calculation of 1 second for the earth, while i sead it was (and it is) in under a second, could even be half a second.

Thats not the point. Do you know how Superman can fire laser from his eyes? Probably the same way that Flash can breath at the enormes speed he traffels. It's a cartoon, in a cartoon anything can happen. The most realistic reason for it though is that he just has the super power to breath then as well. Problem solved/ :D

I thought the Flash had an invisible barrier that protected him as he ran at high speeds, breathing would be impossible, it would make sense he had this barrier as being struck by a salt granule at these speeds would tear straight through his body, i think the barrier also completely stops the affect of resistance so no drag.

Flash starts to go into the speed force when u see him starting to disappear. In the comics Flash gets the speed force inside himself meaning he can go faster than the speed of thought steal speed from others etc... For some reason they decided to make the flash very weak in JLU. Any he was fighting lex luthor merged with brainiac in that scene
