  • I love this program but technically they are much slower than the Russians with not nearly the same deep edging and flow across the ice. They certainly did have some of the most entertaining programs ("Missing", "Savage Rites") in the sport!

  • The D's ARE WONDERFUL; FLAWLESS, under-rated skaters!! K&P can't hold a candle to them!!

  • @Angelwings6843 Think the problem was they weren't competition strong that season. Meaning it'sdifferent in practice vs what works w/an audience AND judges@a major event. You can only KNOW that when you compete@an event. Unfortunately, their brother died, Isabelle married, had an injury and there was a lot of pressure on them,to WIN.Nerves factor in w/those kind of life-changing events.Having lost a sibling myself, I felt so bad for them But a Silver Medal and World Title are to be very proud of.

  • For some reason I just don't like this program and I love all their other routines.

  • I love this! It is my favorite of D&D's OD's. Thank you for posting! :)

  • I always ask myself why there's a 5.7 in the second set of marks O_o'

  • Just to say that Isabelle was skating with a 2,8 cm screw in her right foot. She had an accident few months before the Olympics. I guess this is the reason why her skating is not as secured as it was before.

  • He is incredibly strong, an excellent dancer and partner. like dmitirev in pairs. she isnt a good partner. she is always off. she is always thinking. but this dance is an embrassment.

  • oh no, no, Shallow scating skills on her part - frantic and rough.

  • Still frantic and rough.

I'm glad you're devoted to her. Open your eyes though. Watch others - Susanna Rahkamo, Italians who caame in fifth, I think and Russians.

    Obviously you don't skate.

  • It's getting old. You just have to reply to me personally (you know, you can just "post a text comment" here without me ever knowing that... Just an idea. )

About "looking at my own skating" : while you enjoy this OD I prefer Klimova, Rahkamo, Grishuk's style of skating. Do I need to ask for your permission to have an opinion here? Do yourself a favor and watch their 1992 Olympic ODs.

  • Right on, poor thing! So may be you could stop replying to my personal account?

  • The right couple won in the end. They should've won in 1988. I am so glad they won in 1992. He does such a lovingly great job of presenting her. And she holds up her end of being presented! Fantastic technicians and artists both.

  • Agreed.

  • this is so awful.

  • He is one of my favorite male ice-dancers,

she is wonderful in terms of presentation but technically she wasn't great at all...

  • b2367...Technically she was flailing all over the place.I'd said earlier they were limited being brother and sister in their programs but my brother & I danced together &I never had to rely on him or a besotted boyfriend/choreographer to make us look decent. What Isabelle had was ambition. She nearly pulled it off in '92. I felt bad for Paul but K&P should've won in 1988. you could barely hear their edges.Sergei was a perfect skater-the consummate perfect skater and so was Marina.Beautiful pair!

  • I cannot see how they could have been in placed in front of Usova and Zhulin... not to talk about their horrible free dance.

  • i luv these 2 but i agree this wasnt her best performance!

  • POLKA IS EXATLY WHAT THEY DO - HEAVY ASS. I am from polka land - BÖHMEN - this is it.!!! I love them for all they´ve done. REVOLUTION ON ICE. THEY ARE UNIQUE.

  • The best of all!

  • For Christ's sake, she could hardly skate at all...

  • You are so right but the other fans obviously cant see that. She had no talent infact neither.A big load of crap!

  • my favourite demonstration!!

  • Based on their costumes they should've skated to Beauty & The Beast theme, Isabel certainly looks the part. lol!

Great skating! First timeI've seen this since 1992.

  • I really am amazed that people can say the were brilliant ice dancers. They were not brilliant they were ok,not spectactular or special. Are the people ice dancers by chance??

  • I think, they were great at bringing new ideas and special choreography into the ice dance - but mostly in their FREE dances, because they were not bound by the rhythm and style of music there and could bring something which was much expressive and suitable for their style of skating. I guess it´s the choreography and innovation which amazed the audience mostly, not their technique. Yet,just because all of that for me, they really WERE great :)

  • The did not have technique, just messy uncreative, unoriginal skating. What they did did was have other past skaters ideas and help clumping together and what do you have a messy pizza ,so this is not original and the talent was not there anyway!

  • What they had skaterlz was a marketing campaign & WHO they had was Chris Dean. Paul was a great skater but Sergei was often said to be the best male ice dancer in the World. I felt for them since their brother-Gustav had died months before the Olympics. Paul held them together in the Free Dance. I couldn't figure out it Isabelle was terrified or wanted to take her skates & go home. She had a migraine. They didn't skate in the exhibitions. Kudos to Paul & Chris for their loyalty to her and Sports.

  • Ouch, too bad the OD was the polka that year. Maybe if the blues had been drawn for that year they would've had a chance.

  • Sloppy technically with some very unimpressive positions

  • Totally agree, heavy footed poor skating!
