good race, i love both cars, my family had 2 6th gen max's and damn i LOVED them cars. the 04-09 and the new maximas are the best looking maximas ever built. the altima ser won because well its a lighter car plus its tuned to go fast. both have vq35s though.

the 04-06 maxima has 265 hp and around 255 lb-ft of torque, the altima SER has 260 and tourqe is a bit less as well. However, the maxima is heavier than the altima, so i hope that helps...

2002-2003 manual max is just as fast. It could do better with an intake kit which the SE R is using.

yeh, yeh, yeh; I mean I had a 4th gen maxima, and when I was looking to buy a car I was looking at a 325i, g35x, 04-05 maxima, and an acura tl; Out of all of them I ended up purchasing a the SE-R. Bottom line I really don't even like the 6th gen max that much and the SE-r is based on the 350z so I mean I'm not trying to put anybody down because I had a max before, but really the only max that can touch the SE-r is the 09 maxima. That SE-r is as fast or even faster than the g35x in my oppinion.

The SE-R isn't based on the 350z...the closests any altima comes to being based off the 350z is the altima coupe because tahts basically a 350z with front wheel drive and alot slower and uglier

G35X is heavier as I remember, and the SE-R is based off the previous generation Maxima (Engine, trans, floorpan). I own an SE-R, and it's great, but its not a world-beater.

If I didn't have to worry about winter, I'd get a G35/350Z happily.

The Altima SE-R is nice but it only has 10hp more than the regular V6. If ur worried about winter, test drive a G35X, it has the "high revolution" version of the VQ making 309HP and it has the same AWD system used in the FX crossovers (which is supposedly more advanced than X-Drive by BMW). Its a beast in the snow. Im thinking about trading my Maxima for it to handle the weather conditions better.

thats weird that ud say that cuz i was lookin at the same cars exept the 325i...after driving all of them id say the g35x was significantly faster than all others ..i drove the se-r w/ auto and it felt slower than the 05 maxima and it had about half the features so i ended up buying it..but the se-r with manual is faster obviously and there so rare! if i had more $ id buy the g35 no brainer. rwd/awd vs. fwd is a no brainer

you guys dont see that... the altima had half of a car jump. As soon as the altima took off, the maxima accelerated 2 seconds after... look at the tire spokes on the maxima. The altima takes off, the maxima driver sees the jump, then he takes off after him. When the maxima takes off, the tire spokes start spinning faster. So yes the altima won, with a head start...

I drive a 2004 Nissan Maxima. The s2000 I raced was a 2008. He beat me to 100mph by about two car lengths.. around that time I started closing the gap between us. Ford Mustangs have never been all that fast.. at least anything short of a Shelby or a Roush Spec. And FYI the s2000 can take alot of the standard Mustang GTs... of course I could be wrong about all of this assuming all the drivers of the Mustangs didn't know what they were doing.

Lol, no, a 2002-2003 maxima is the best looking one. Anything newer than that just looks like a mess. Nissan finally fixed it with the 2008 redesign, 4 yeas later.

Yeah the se touring i believe, which had 4 seats and nav had the 4 spd. This is unfair a stock SE-R has 260 hp but weighs under 3300 lbs curb weight, while the maxima has 265 but weighs in at 3470, the SE-R has better suspension. I drive an 04 maxima, and all i can do is keep up with the SE-R. Its embarrasing losing to the entry full size sedan with the flagship of nissan.

Definetely a drivers race, i have on 06 ser, and raced my dads friends maxima he beat me the first race, than i beat him 2nd race, I love the Maxima they are very fun cars, but since im 19 i went with something more sportier looking the altima se-r
