@hallie5309 Thank you. "Instead of Spa we'll drink brown ale, and pay the reckoning on the nail, no man for debt shall go to gaol (jail) from Garryowen in glory!" - that's the chorus.
Wow that was excellent. Love the song and the legends that go with it. Wish Custer could have been like Errol Flynn in They Died With Their Boots On! Fabulous movie.
@LostintheHoller Thank you! All my harmonicas are regular tuned. On some of the tunes I play the regular harp in cross position; that means the harp key is the 4th note in the scale above the key the guitar plays in. Guitar in G - harp in C or guitar in D - harp in G and so on.
Pat & Annie, I'm so pleased to share your music on my page! How wonderful you sound and how proud I am to know you.Keep doin what your doin! Love, Cathy Cutler
@annieandmac Keep playing it folks! It has such a long history, with or without Custer. There's Myles Keogh, Bucky O'Neill and the "Fighting 69th" of Civil War and WWI fame. We'd all be alot poorer without it.

@paulhallart Thank you - I see from your channel that you favor poetry and harmonicas. Robert Service has a poem you might like - "The Song of the Mouth Organ" ...I'm a homely little bit of tin and bone; I'm beloved by the Legion of the Lost; .....
@annieandmac tks much Annie n Mac, yes. Robert Service was one of the poets of this area of Alaska and the Yukon back in the day, along with such as Jack London who went to the gold fields through Dyea and the Chilcoot Trail. I've got to look up that poem for sure, just grapling with memory problems and a.d.d for now, but I'll try to put it to music and give it a whirl, as my friend singingkid would say. I appreciate much ur music, folks! I'll be listening4ur uploads! many tks, Paul.
Wonderful. Thanks for posting this. I know and love this song from American Cavalry films I used to watch as a kid here in England. I love hearing these old folk songs, many of which I would never have heard if it weren't for generous people like yourselves posting them on here. It really is a tradition to be upheld and passed on. Thanks.

Many Thanks to You from Italy. This is my favorite tune from many years ago when I listened to this for the first time in the movie " they died with their boots on ".
This is excellent!! Your version is easier to dance to since a lot of the versions I own are too fast. Wonderful job on this. This was a Civil War song from the Irish regiments, just a little fun fact for you. Keep up the awesome songs! HUZZAH
Wow, I'm so impressed. Super, just super. I'll have you know you helped me mop my kitchen floor tonight by playing several of your tunes. You took the labor right out of that task. Just magic. Thanks so much!
Very super great!!! The old West and the 7th. Cavarly songs with Custer is my favorites songs from that era. We live by Fort Lincoln where Custer started out for the battle of the Little Big Horn. Two weeks ago, we fullfilled one of our dreams by going to Harden, Mt. to see The little Big Horn Battle Field where Custer's Last Stand took place. Always been fasinated by the Old West. Thank you for keeping this kind of music alive for future generations to enjoy. God bless you both.
if i wake up, and i hear these ppl making such great music, i'll just get happy. Your one of the best musicians I personally hve ever heard.. maybe u think I'm overreacting, but u do it cuz u think its fun, and to entertain other ppl, these commercial shit u hear on the radio is all about the money. <3 Keep it up guys! :)

I have just viewed most of your Annie & Mac Old Time Music Moment vids, and what a fantastic set of ole time American roots and blues/bluegrass music. You also look like you are enjoying yourself.

Part of the Seventh Cavalry's Version We are the pride of the army, And a regiment of great renown, Our name's on the pages of history, From sixty-six on down. If you think we stop or falter While in the fray we're gin' Just watch the steps with our heads erect, In the Fighting Seventh's the place for me It's the cream of all the cavalry; No other regiment ever can claim Its pride, honor, glory and undying fame. A great rendition, good job!
"Come Bacchus's sons, be not diamayed, Come join me every jovial blade, Come booze and sing and lend us aid, And join me in the chorus: Instead of spa, we'll drink brown ale, And we'll pay the reckonin' on the nail, No man for debt shall go to jail, From Garryowen and glory!"
