  • That's good!

  • @lynyrdpez Thank you!

  • @annieandmac

I watch this every day! It cheers me up and fills me with energy. Thank you

  • @jpueblo21 What a terrific comment! Thank you.

  • Very Good i enjoyed it very much!!!!! I did know it was a drinking song?

  • @hallie5309 Thank you. "Instead of Spa we'll drink brown ale, and pay the reckoning on the nail, no man for debt shall go to gaol (jail) from Garryowen in glory!" - that's the chorus.

  • Wow that was excellent. Love the song and the legends that go with it. Wish Custer could have been like Errol Flynn in They Died With Their Boots On! Fabulous movie.

  • @dandydon777 Thanks for your comments and message - it's always been one of our favorites!

  • This is great, I'd like to learn how to play fiddle tunes and such on the harmonica. Do you just use a regular harp or is it cross-tuned?

  • @LostintheHoller Thank you! All my harmonicas are regular tuned. On some of the tunes I play the regular harp in cross position; that means the harp key is the 4th note in the scale above the key the guitar plays in. Guitar in G - harp in C or guitar in D - harp in G and so on.

  • Pat & Annie, I'm so pleased to share your music on my page! How wonderful you sound and how proud I am to know you.Keep doin what your doin! Love, Cathy Cutler

  • @Gunsmoke1942 Too bad he ever became so indelibly associated with the song, it's such a great tune!

  • Absolutely amazing version i think i listened to it a hundred times! i love your harmonica playing! what key is it in?

  • @Gunsmoke1942 He's no hero to me but a good tune is a good tune!

  • @annieandmac Keep playing it folks! It has such a long history, with or without Custer. There's Myles Keogh, Bucky O'Neill and the "Fighting 69th" of Civil War and WWI fame. We'd all be alot poorer without it.

  • to all my brothers and sisters who have worn and wear THEE UNIFORM,,,,,,,PREPARE TO FALL OUT AND SADDLE UP the reginement will ride again on 2NOV10 election day and REGARDLESS of YOUR PARTY AND PHILOSOPHY, WE MUST DRIVE OUT THE INCUMBENT CAREER POLITICIANS LIKE THE GOOD LORD DROVE OUT THE MONEY CHANGERS FROM THE TEMPLE, this election and every election everytime...........AMEN!

  • This was great, love it! It would a been nice if Annie could have sang some of the lyrics too... :-)

  • Thanks, wonderful, I hope you two are as happy as you seem. How about posting where and when you make public appearances.

    Thanks again.

  • nice one. great style on that harmonica, too.

  • @paulhallart Thank you - I see from your channel that you favor poetry and harmonicas. Robert Service has a poem you might like - "The Song of the Mouth Organ" ...I'm a homely little bit of tin and bone; I'm beloved by the Legion of the Lost; .....

  • @annieandmac tks much Annie n Mac, yes. Robert Service was one of the poets of this area of Alaska and the Yukon back in the day, along with such as Jack London who went to the gold fields through Dyea and the Chilcoot Trail. I've got to look up that poem for sure, just grapling with memory problems and a.d.d for now, but I'll try to put it to music and give it a whirl, as my friend singingkid would say. I appreciate much ur music, folks! I'll be listening4ur uploads! many tks, Paul.

  • Wonderful. Thanks for posting this. I know and love this song from American Cavalry films I used to watch as a kid here in England. I love hearing these old folk songs, many of which I would never have heard if it weren't for generous people like yourselves posting them on here. It really is a tradition to be upheld and passed on. Thanks.

  • Well played, maith thu, good on you, from Ireland.

  • Part of the Seventh Cavalry's Version We are the pride of the army, And a regiment of great renown, Our name's on the pages of history, From sixty-six on down. If you think we stop or falter While in the fray we're gin' Just watch the steps with our heads erect, In the Fighting Seventh's the place for me It's the cream of all the cavalry; No other regiment ever can claim Its pride, honor, glory and undying fame. A great rendition, good job!

  • Thank you for the comments! I'm playing a Bushman diatonic harmonica in the key of "A". I have a nice version of this song on a cassette called "Songs of the 7th Cavalry". The cassette says: write for more copies,
