  • Everyone came here for 2:00.

  • @kerii7 No every 12 year old did

  • Has anyone ever told you that you kind of sound like Kenny Powers from Eastbound and Down?

  • Hey whats the reliability with Service Grade M1 Garands from CMP in your opinion?

  • Lol, sounds like the guy at the end of the video said "Col. Sanders", as in K F'n C.

  • wow great ping

  • Just a little question... In europe you can only buy semi-automatic guns. So can i buy this gun or is it still illegal for me?

  • anybody ever thought of the idea of working up a load using m1 carbine fmj 110 grain bullets or is that a bad idea

i thought the price was better and I ONLY nobody else yet thought it will work as long as u stay away from the sp and stay with ur jacketed

  • what is this weapons effective range? I get a lot of different answers

  • @th4Guy77 around 1500 yards

  • Can you tell me what moa the Garand was getting during ww2 with ww2 ammo? And whats the best moa I could get with it useing anything But the expensive sierra and hornady loads. Im trying to find a pretty acurate middle of the road ammo to stock up on "prepper" wise.

  • awsome...the garand is one of my favorite rifles ever

  • is that A REAL M1 GRAND or like a remake and does it actually go PING when you reload or not

  • @jordan3727 The ping you hear is the clip's ejection and impact on the ground. check out 2:03

  • @jordan3727 ALL Garands (original or remakes) make that clip sound.

  • i like the ping sounds for some reason

  • gotta love that ping

  • It suck that there are no CMP stores in Utah. haha But it is a goal in my life to own a M1 Garand. But I need to ask one question, for lack of money, would you say that a field grade M1 would be best for me? And what would I need to look for while I'm browsing? Thanks a bunch for the info. Awesome vids by the way.

  • @SRH1092213111 Did he answer you. Well I'll give it a shot.

He's shooting a field grade rifle in this video. Sometimes people get lucky with mail order field grades and get a "gem" much like the one in the video. I guess it depends on what you're expecting...don't expect a rifle that will shoot or look this good. I you want a functioning Garand that goes bang and hits a 5 inch group at 100 yards then field grade is the way to go. I'd be glad to help you out, feel free to send me a message

  • i wish i could shoot mine..its winter here and all the pits are snowed in. Mine is 1942 springfield i got from my grandfather

  • My favorite gun from World War II is the M1 Garand. I just love it. That's the reason why I clicked on this particular video.

  • god i want shoot some real gun T_T

  • 5 people missed the thumbs up button

  • the M1 Garand is a beast it's very accurate and the .30-06 can penatrate pretty much anything you put in front of it short of heavy armor or a tank The M1 Garand set the standard for not to be fucked with

  • Just be sure to keep several of them magazines in your vest in case you're

in heavy cover and it pings out and GETS LOST.

You don't want to be grubbing around looking for it and get your *ss shot off.

(talkin about when the SHTF- Patriots know what that means).

  • @4freespeech They're clips not maazines, and why would you care if the empty clips got lost? in cobat you discard them once they eject, just like you do with empty bullet shells.

  • Hey dude, How much should I expect to pay for the average M1 Garand?

  • @SuperR3volver Between $500-$1000

  • Jesus 8 inch plates at 220? Goddamn nice shooting!

  • @shkotay Between $500-$1000

  • dont f*ck your time go to 1:39

  • I wish we could own guns in the Uk.. :|

  • @IIITrickzIII I know, now the only people with guns are the criminals, free to do what they want with no opposition.

  • If only a US soldier back in WW2 had such a stable firing platform... if they did i'm pretty sure the war would have ended a lot quicker.

  • great to see people still excited about that great old rifle.. it deserves respect

  • Nice voice.

  • Nice! My M1 never hits the same place twice unfortunately =(

  • Is this a field or service grade?

  • I fucking love the ping sound when the ammo box flies out of the rifle!

  • is a M21 sniper rifle a modern day verson of the M1 Grand?

  • @quizkill M-14...

  • @Iraqveteran8888 It's actually the father of the M14.

  • @Iraqveteran8888

after that is the M14 EBR

  • @Iraqveteran8888 and its mainly a marksman rifle not a sniper

  • @Iraqveteran8888 isnt the M21 just an upgraded version of the M14? correct me if Im wrong

  • @Kooletz71 No, m-21 is a sniper (not "upgraded") version of the m-14.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 did you know hickock45 can hit a gong at 230 yards with his first gen G23???

  • @Iraqveteran8888 y u need training wheels with this rifle

  • @Iraqveteran8888 how much recoil does it have compared to a .270 or .308?

  • @HONDA5863 Its a 30-06 so you do the math.... its closer to the 270 I think personally but the one I had was a cheap 270 and that thing kicked like a mule that got kicked in the nuts it felt like you were firing a 416....

  • @quizkill the m-21 is not real its really called the m-14 its just got a scope!!

  • @quizkill No a sniper version of M14. M1-C and M1-D are sniper versions of the garand.

  • @quizkill the m21 is a modification of the m14.

  • @quizkill its a modern m14, which is an updated m1

  • @quizkill you can say that as the m21 is a sniper model of the m14 and the m14 is a modified M1 Garand

  • @quizkill M1 Garand is known as the father of the M-14

  • @quizkill an M21 is a modernised M14 rifle, which is itself a modernised, select-fire, 7.62x51mm continuation of the Garand. The M1 was introduced in 1936, and was replaced by the M14 in 1957. The M14 was replaced by the M16 from 1964 onwards.

  • @quizkill the m14 is the the modern version of the m1 garand,it was used in nam, and the m21 is the modern

version of the m14,so yes it is! =)

  • @quizkill The m14 replaced the m1 garand, and they looked much alike. Then the m21 was a copy of the m14 just chambered for a different cartridge.

  • @criticaboutvids false. same. 7.62x51mm

  • @ajonz9213 Yeah, you're right. Thanks for not being a dick, too.

  • @criticaboutvids no prob bud, everyone fucks up. me too. now M1 and M14/M21 different story ;)

  • @ajonz9213 It's and m14, just in 5.56. :D

  • @quizkill Pretty much. It's based off the M-14, which was based off of the Garand.

  • @quizkill i think its a sniper version of the M14, which is the M1 garand's offspring

  • @quizkill The M21 sniper rifle is not a modern day version of the M1 Garand but there is another gun besides the M14 that is. It's called the M1A which is manufactured by Springfield Armory and it can go for about $1,640. Very excellent rifle with extreme accuracy and durability, I really recommend you guys check this gun out on Youtube or the Springfield Armory website!

  • I just bought my garand and took it to the range today but didn't get to shoot, glad someone told me that I shouldn't use factory ammo in it right before I startes

  • how bad is the recoil compared to a 7.62mm?

  • @BananaBreakable

well, if u get it in ur nuts, its pretty bad

  • i wish i had 3 things

    1. i lived in america

    2. my grandfather was in ww2

    3. he handed down his m1 garand trough the family

you see where this is going????

    MWUHAHAHAHAHA

  • @PiTBuLL892 My grand dad was stripped of his rifle..... Not in a bad way although he did steal a nice German walter ppk(don't know how he got it but I assume he stole it like all soldiers in the war. Although he was a second lieutenant and may have got it from a surrendering German officers)

  • @PiTBuLL892 ha! i dont know of any of my grand parents in ww2 but my grandpa was in vietnam and killed alot of gooks, and we still have a garand :D

  • @PiTBuLL892

    ... get off my lawn?

  • you should make a video of you shooting it standing up

  • We have more Garand videos in the works.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 8 inch plate at 220 is a challenging feat with open sights

  • @SpecialBlendNY Shooting while standing is WAY harder than it looks, especially with that monster.

  • @farmerboy245 Which is why soldiers had thorough training before combat

  • Hey Iraqveteran8888, out of all the mil-surp rifles you own, what's your favorite?

  • @Hammerhead6814

The m1 Garand is hard to beat...I'd say a tie between my Finn M39 and the M1 Garand.

  • Great video, I wish I had the kind of open space you have for shooting, I'd be shooting everyday ;-)

  • I shoot about 4 times a week....lol. You are welcome in my neck of the woods anytime.

  • @Iraqveteran8888

lucky you! i have a nice area not 10 minutes form my house, i go up there whenever i go shooting.

  • This is a family oriented channel, so take your filth somewhere else.

  • the laughter after the first two shots is contagious! great shooting!

  • best weapon EVER !!!!!!

I would love to buy my self one...

  • What range are these supposed to be zeroed at per military?

  • @tripmatt1

In the manual I got from the CMP, Army Standards are to hold a 4 inch group a 100 yards and to be zeroed for 100 yards.

According to the manual, shot should be able to be made out to 400 yards without adjusting the sights and the round in theory hitting 4 inches lower than impact.

I still have some work to do with this rifle, I am skeptical of the manual a little.

The 220 yard shots were hitting about 2 inches lower than POA.

  • Only 4 MOA at 100yards for AS?

  • @TangoDown89

    Yeah....I was surprised too...

I think with good handloads I can get this rifle grouping about 1.5 MOA at 100 yards easily...We will see!

  • they were shooting Greek ammo thou. I shot a 3 inch group at 200 yard with USA ammo. If you ever do get a load that will shoot 1.5 moa out of your grand I would love to here what you did to get that good of a shot.

  • Considering the fact that the body width of a human been even turned on its side is wider than 4 inches, 4 MOA would gurantee a hit almost every time even with the crappiest of shooters. A solid chest shot at 100 yards in WW2 was easily attainable in WW2, this is a 200-300 yard rifle minimum.

  • @SSSDiaz7

    That makes sense.

As soon as I can get down to the hunting property, I'll still some 12" inch steel gongs out to 500 and see how it does.

This work with the Garand is very preliminary.

  • With Iron sights? its possible but thats a far distance for just regular sights, dont you think?

  • I don't think it's totally unreasonable.

    We will see....Fun to try!

  • Open sites at 220 yards WOW!! Good shootin'

  • @birdhunter67

Now we just have to get good at it offhand...lol.

We will be shooting more of these vids in the near future.

I have some shotgun stuff coming up soon....figured you would like that!

  • Lovin' that all purpose shotgun stuff. Looking forward to that as well.

  • @chop98

I'll be shooting a Remington Model 11, a Remington 870 Wingmaster with a 3" magnum chamber, and a Stevens 12 gauge double barrel.

  • Perhaps a few tactics as well? That would be great. Even teaching people how to lean into a shotgun (basically any gun) would probably help out heaps. hehe. Southern word there.

  • Oh! Maybe cover a few different style rounds for home/self-defense? And definitely blow both those wads on that double for a finale! :) Later man.

  • Ugh dont tease me! I just picked up a Benelli Cordoba to get into Trap 5 stand and Sporting clays. I haven't been able to shoot it yet and I think I'm going to have to wait till January for a Sporting Clays Event. Torture pure torture! No teasing with the shotgun talk...please!

  • Nice shooting. And clicked the adds.

  • Thanks for the support.

  • I want to see less bench shooting more prone or standing shooting. Please

  • We will be doing lots more...I have some rifle drills planned, etc.

The main purpose of this kind of shooting is to make sure the rifle is dead on, otherwise you are wasting time shooting with a gun that isn't sighted in worth a hoot.

  • hell, let's all stop by and take a bus to Anniston!

  • Nothing like the sound of rounds on steel...nice shooting.

Tried it offhand at that range?

  • Yes...Very difficult.

    lol

  • i cant see the target but not bad shooting without optics. The farthest i usually plink is 100yds. Does CMP have garand snipers? That rifle with a scope would be downright evil.

  • No Garand snipers there...

The Garand is finicky to scope, but once it's on, it's on....

  • Iraqvet,

What grade did the CMP give that rifle? Watching your videos is making me want to take a trip to Anniston!

  • Field grade.

Let me know if you want me to come with you and help you pick one. I'll ride with you if you want me to.

  • Dang Man,

I appreciate it and might take you up on that!

  • Just send my a PM as soon as you know something.

  • GREAT VID!!! My friend and i are headed back up to theCMP soon to pick up some more surplus ammo and maybe a carbine or another M1.Looking forward to more M1 vids!!! Also how far are you from anniston?? cause you mentioned in your other vid going back to get targets?

  • I am about an hour and a half from Anniston.

I need to go back and pick up more ammo and targets, yeah.

Bear in mind that Georgia Arms is only about 30 minutes away on 20E if you need reloading components. I scored 2000 LR primers for $70 the other day!

They had about 8 bricks of .22 LR for $24 each. A little high, but available.

I scored at Walmart the other day. Got 4 bricks!

  • Great shooting, great range ( l love open air shooting ) and great filming. Love your decision to turn HD, props to you.

  • Thanks....I am trying hard to make the videos as professional as possible. The quality will improve....I swear I am upgrading ASAP....lol

  • nice shooting man

  • Thanks HD134

  • : )

  • can you send me one ,i need it

  • deem:D nice army standars , and prob u love ur new garand:D

  • nice one

  • good shooting.

  • That HXP can be some pretty hot stuff! I have had two batches of the '80s production. You will definitely shrink your groups when you hand load. The brass reloads to 30.06 perfectly and reforms to 8mm Mauser pretty easily too.

  • envy!

  • Where did you get the ammo?

  • mmmmmmm... garand envy!!!

  • that guy at the end of the video looks so damn familiar.....weird. Anyways great video as always, hopefully someday i can save up enough for a garand!
