  • The rain hitting the screen; was that stock footage or was that created by you.

  • @Flamez0nFire It was created by me. I just created a copy of the main conposition and applied a Mr. Mercury effect to it. The copy had to be flipped upside down though because that's what happens with the light is reflected through a raindrop.

  • dude this is bad ass!!

    good job!

  • I know you got this from Video Copilot, but could you do a tutorial?

  • @iBotzProductions I didn't get this from VCP, I used multiple different techniques that I learned from watching tutorials from VCP, CreativeCow, and various other places. And if you read the comments you'll know that I've said I'd like to do a tutorial, I just need to iron out some issues with some of my techniques.

  • @ClanInfectionist I know you didnt get this from VCP, but you watch the techniques and applied them. Sorry about not reading the comments, my iPhone would not display them :P

  • @iBotzProductions It's cool, it happens. My Droid doesn't like to display them either. Yeah, pretty much I just watched a bunch of tutorials and learned as much as I could, then applied the techniques that I learned to make this. I could have done it better, but I like it and I just don't have the time to go back to it right now.

  • dude that's soo cool

  • this is awesome nice one

  • wholy shit that was awesome.

  • @TheHLGGhosts Thank you. I would like to make a video tutorial detailing how I did it, but I need to perfect the technique first. This took a long tim ebecause of all the manual rotoscoping I had to do.

  • ight thanks..

  • can you link me a tutorial with a pm ?

  • @HemisphereMachinima Scroll down to the comment where I reply to St3Vi3123. I link to a few of the tutorials I used, but I actually used quite a few from both Video Copilot and Creative Cow, and a little creativity of my own.

  • I'm glad you like it, I plan to use this or something similar in a machinima, should be fun.

  • Really cool!5/5

  • can u tell me how to do this please!

  • I might make a tutorial eventually, once I find out a really good way to do it. The way I did it wasn't the best. I would recommend starting by going to videocopilot[dot]net and watching the free tutorials #'s 57, 44, and 42. That will get you started.

  • @ClanInfectionist hey i watched the tutorials u recomended, and there kinda confusing, tutorial #44 didnt seem too useful. btw wat did u use to capture this?a capture card? if so where can i get a good one for not a lot of money? Thx

  • 44 is the day to night conversion. In a stormy situation things get darker and lose a lot of color, that tutorials helps achieve that effect. And yes, I used a capture card, it's a Hauppauge HD PVR and it's about $200. That's probably the cheapest you're going to find an HD capture card these days.

  • lol. it was pretty good. could be the beginning of a great machinima

  • I actually had an idea like that in mind, something similar to when the Super monitors the streets of Mombasa for a long time everything speeds up, I could do something like that and have it start raining in the middle and then slow down back to normal speed.

  • <3 How I wish bungie would do this :(

CoD:WaW had Makin Day why not Standoff Night?

  • the lightning looks like its flipped upside down, plusit never hit the ground :P

i'd still play on this map but i don't have Halo 3 :(

i suck at it too much anyways, but its still a fun game

  • Lightning didn't hit the ground, it hit a pole. Lightning is always attracted to thin or pointy objects because the electrons can gather there easier.

  • Damn. I'd love to play with weather like this.

Also, the thunder was quite unrealistic, still great, man.

  • The thunder was unrealistic, or the lightning? Because the thunder was a sound effect I used from Oblivion, ripped the sound file straight from the game.

  • The lighting, the sound was quite great. My bad.

  • Ok, that's what I thought. I've actually got an updated version I'm working on in which I've improved the lightning a TON, it looks WAAY better, I"m just stuck on the sky.

  • thats a really nic eeffect but i dont like the lightning, you need to work on that

but apart from that its pretty BeAsT!

  • Really nice, but the ligtning strike need some big work.

  • This is very good! Can do for god machinimas for the Social. And yourself, of course...

  • Yeah, like I've said, I need to get an Infectionist production under my belt first. In the 3 years we've been in operation we've only made one movie and it wasn't the best. If I can get this effect to really work I'll definitely probably maybe use this for a machinima.

  • That's pretty good the sky slips a little bit in the middle but otherwise this is a really good job.
