they F this song! why would they do that... rip tim buckley
she cant even sing and thats whats bringing tears to my eyes, no emotion here i dont buy it, so fake!! such a beautifull song, they shouldnt have cover it, they added nothing just made it sound like any other meaningless song out there... ill go back to tim now...
It really is one of those days today. Forget the fact that this is effectively a love song, well rather remove that meaning - and there ya go - my song for the day. I guess I shouldn't be too worried as not that many people can figure out what she's actually singing anyway.
, i remember when i first heard this, on its realease, its just as haunting now, as it was then, it seemed so right , for that time, the things that were happening, its so beautiful, liz frasers voice, is so moving..
It's the most beautifull and moving song I've ever heard...it's from the soundtrack to "The Lost Highway".David Lynch is a talented director and,as we hear,he has a great taste.
Great to find this - thanks for posting the amazing lyrics, too... I did love some of the Cocteau Twins stuff, also love the dance versions, ie: Sunrise... Glad to see it's being revised in a current movie, as it so deserves to be heard. :)
Hi Bob! I have to tell you that in 1984 i wasn't even born...it's so sad feeling you missed something...a period.... but i coul find it here, in this videos! ^_^ I'm happy you find the video useful to remember! Have a nice day!
Classic version of this song! I can't believe I bought the record nearly some 24 or so years ago. It still enchants me, even though thinking about how long it's been makes me feel old and miss the early & mid 80's music scene so much! Liz looks super cool here, too! Thank you for posting this. The beauty of this song truly lies in the last two lines, when the sailor becomes the siren and longs for someone to hold

if think u mean Noize Suppressor - Lost S.T.F.Y but it contains only
On the floating, shipless, oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang, "Sail to me, sail to me,
Let me enfold you,
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you"

Lyrics - I thought it was
"Were you here when I was for sale?"
Instead of "Were you hair when I was fox?"
