  • SotD - Song to the Siren by This Mortal Coil.

It really is one of those days today. Forget the fact that this is effectively a love song, well rather remove that meaning - and there ya go - my song for the day. I guess I shouldn't be too worried as not that many people can figure out what she's actually singing anyway.

  • , i remember when i first heard this, on its realease, its just as haunting now, as it was then, it seemed so right , for that time, the things that were happening, its so beautiful, liz frasers voice, is so moving..

  • i listen this song cuz the lovely bones xD

  • It's the most beautifull and moving song I've ever heard...it's from the soundtrack to "The Lost Highway".David Lynch is a talented director and,as we hear,he has a great taste.

  • it was in Texas chainsaw massacre first >8C

  • Great to find this - thanks for posting the amazing lyrics, too... I did love some of the Cocteau Twins stuff, also love the dance versions, ie: Sunrise... Glad to see it's being revised in a current movie, as it so deserves to be heard. :)

  • this song is musical poetry, look at the lyrics. :) i heard this is going to be in The Lovely Bones. if so, it fits well.

  • Classic version of this song! I can't believe I bought the record nearly some 24 or so years ago. It still enchants me, even though thinking about how long it's been makes me feel old and miss the early & mid 80's music scene so much! Liz looks super cool here, too! Thank you for posting this. Bob in Philadelphia, USA

  • ditto. well, i decded to stop feeling old and start going to shows again, and i'm 48!
