Hmmm my audio board cracked I think cause I only got one sound channel so I've been opening the thing up looking at what could be going wrong when I noticed the last time I opened it I ended up pulling out the battery part that plugs into the bottom right over the harddrive. I took a pair of tweezers and I guess I thought it went into the bottom slit opening below the harddrive so when I was trying to fit it in I saw little tiny sparks and then after realized it went in that one port.

sometimes its really convenient to be able to open your ipod. i've replaced a broken screen and put in a new battery into mine. but you know how it gets frozen sometimes and all you can do is wait for the battery to die and recharge it. well if you can open it, you can just pull out the battery ribbon and put it back in and it'll work like a charm. i can do it with my hand now. more you open it, easier it gets

hello i have heard that it is possible to put in a bigger harddrive. i knew of some savvy chick who slapped a 60 gig one in place of the 30. ive no idea if it just works straight up or if there is software stuff needed. never heard about a 520 fitting in there, didnt know u could get them that big. theres got to be a website about it somewhere. have fun!

seems like the lcd cable was not put back in properly (if you removed it) its very tricky to put back in. one way i know is you have to line it up with the femail socket, fold it back and use a blunt flat spade shaped or guitar pick blade to force it back in properly. careful not to chip the female connector plastic or bend the pins. thats all the advice i can give on that. cheers
