Amazing. This is definitely very early Sutherland (compare the sound with her amazing, even legendary Euryanthe in 1955 - I've posted an aria in YT some years ago). She still maintained the dark and metallic hue from the time she wanted to be a "new Flagstad" but had a voice already so flexible, fresh and free at the top that people started to notice she'd be great in Bel Canto. It's amazing that her musical instincts were already so wonderful at 28 y.o.

She used to have darker voice than the birdy one that her husband trained later to sing all those belcanto, I like this voice better...

The later recording she was already in her apres La Stupenda years.

Lovely. I love this melancholy piece. Sutherland's recording of this music in 1985 was just as touching.
