ive bought resident evil (the first one ) in about 5 different incarnations, and id have to say this is the best one yet. Playing it in 480p (enhanced definition) with the wii retro controller ( came bundled with monster hunter, very playstation-duleshock like) just beats out he gamecube version in SD with a very awkward/clumsey controller (for me anyway)

I can understand re-releaseing the gamecube version to the wii since not all game shops own the gamecube version and the wii is one of the most sold systems in the world far more than the gamecube system and there are some people who haven't played the gamecube remake yet so they bought the wii version instaid.

there are no extra unlockables compared to the old 2002 gamecube version but capcom's main focus (besides wanking franchises) they want other players who haven't owned or played the gamecube version of REmake to experience this game cause getting this on gamecube can still be a pain in the ass for some people to get their hands on it also I'm not suprised cause today resident evil is twice as popular with classic RE fans and the RE4 n RE 5 fans.

I just stuck with the GC version. The difference is its on 1 CD and it has a small motion sensor gimmick. If you point it up it points up. Down goes down and middle just stays in the middle. SIMPLE ENOUGH!! not worth it.

Plus this person was bad. Killing every zombie. Bad mistake. I'm at the caves through the waterfall part myself and that was with a total of 1-2 crimson heads (not including the scripted 1.

This game is worth buying only if you don't have the Gamecube version. It is basically the same game with some minor adjustments. But if you dont have the Gamecube version of Resident Evil, definitely buy this game.

I was NEVER into resident evil. I received RE4:Wii edition for my 20th birthday and absolutely loved it. I soon bought a PS3 along with RE5, and downloaded RE1 from PSN so I can experience the game that started it all and I am loving it so far (aside from the door and stairs cutscenes lol). I might just buy this game to play RE1 with Wii graphics. I hope to play RE2, VC, 0 in the future. This has quickly become one of my favorite frachise.

Hah, RE2 was the first game when they introduced the real gruesomely mutated enemies and bosses. I like the screen shots games like they had in RE 0,1,2,and 3. yeah, i just hate when people judge the game when they dont know the story line. To me, games like Halo and Gears of War dont compare to resident evil. I hope they release zero for wii. Cant wait till dark side come out in Nov. Too bad they never remade Re2 or Nemesis. That would've been nice.
