I have a biocube also and it is very easy to some extent... The hardest part for me is part maintenance ... The back is very tiny and I have big hands! How much live rock did you use in the biocube in the video? And which invertebrate did u opt to use
@CapnAhab92095 I had about 14 lbs of rock in it and went with a mix of snails and small hermits. A few turbos, ceriths, astreas and nassarius as well as a fire shrimp and skunk cleaner both at different times.
@djnik0515 my heater is in the actual tank, and people usually take out the carbon filter in chamber one and put the skimmer in there. for a tank this size as long as you keep up with water changes a skimmer isnt neccessary
hi....i was wondering what kind of koralia u got, in the nuzzle....my pet stores here doesnt have koralia powerhead, is koralia powerhead and the 1 u put on the nuzzle are different?
Hey, I started having algae or waste on my filter cartridge, is this normal... I have changed the cartridge and in 2 days the samething. Is this normal? Any tips?
I pulled my filter cartridge out. If anything I would run carbon in the 2nd chamber, when you take the bioballs out there is a tray at the bottom that a bag of carbon can sit on.
do snail help with algea?? i was told crabs would and i bought two and it seams like they havent been doing anything?? im having a tough time with algea on my sand and glass??
Depends on the type of snail or crab in question. Turbo snails will help with hair algae and such and emerald crabs are good for bubble algae and sometimes hair. Nessarius snails help keep the sand moving which can be helpful with algae on the sand.
DO u have a skimmer in the back right? all corals and sea anemones could survive with out a skimmer sometimes? Is it ok If i can use aqua clear 30 power head in a 36 gallon bowfront tank should that be fine for corals and sea anemones too?
Thriving is more like it. That started as two stalks. I recently made 17 frags of it and still have some left in the tank. It went in at about 2 months and by 5 it was like that. I cleared most of it out to make room for some sps though.
I have a 150w Sunpod on it now. The only coral I have ever lost was a Yuma Ric. This was before the new lighting though so I think they just weren't getting enough light.

Hey guys I think I can answer ur questions... First of all , it's not required you use a protein skimmer on nano reefs
CapnAhab92095 9 months ago
Beautiful, I plan to get a fourteen gallon Biocube myself. Is it easier to care for a saltwater aquarium with a Biocube?

I have this tank and wanted to know if u could have corals in this tank without a protein skimmer

Gungaful 2 years ago

Could I use a Biocube Protien Skimmer 14-29 gallon version for an 8 gallon biocube?
ShadowProduction1 2 years ago
That I do not know.
Gungaful 2 years ago
its ok, i got a 14 gallon biocube.

Did you Modify the return Nozzel? Yours Rotates, Mine looks nothing like that. If so, how did you do it? are there any benefits to this mod?
AcanLord 2 years ago

SPS in a biocube?
Did you have modified lighting?
My biocube is about a year old and has lots of problems.
Cyano is rampant, and my stonies are all but dead now.
All thats left is some ricordea, regular mushrooms, tonga mushrooms a kenya tree some GPS, and a tiny frag of xenia which is some how surviving.
I tried two other times but they died, This ones living longer.
both my of fox corals and a frogspawn are dead. and i have two dieing favias.

Odd, I have Florida Ric in mine and they have been doing excellent. I started out with one, now i have four.
Cnidarious 3 years ago
Ya, my Florida Rics were fine it was the Yuma's that didn't do well. They usually are a little more demanding though.
Gungaful 3 years ago
hey, nice tank, im considering get one of these, but i want to know how much noise the filter makes? Thanks!
nymets1fan 3 years ago
No it's powered by the flow of water. It's called a Hydor Flo deflector or something along those lines. Was like 15 bucks.
Gungaful 3 years ago
is that rotating return flow battery powered or what?
pepperrules2008 3 years ago
that's a nice tank
i am going to get one soon
but i was wondering if it comes
with a heater?
jamaicastewart 3 years ago
No but you can put a heater in one of the rear chambers if you take out the bio balls andcharcoal filter like I did.
