I like to put together custom Elixir sets for drop tunings. I use 13, 17, 24w, 32w, 42w, 56w for DADGAD, which is essentially mediums for the dropped strings and lights for the non-dropped strings. That gives you a string tension on all of the strings that feels similar to what you get with a set of lights in standard tuning - 'keeps the detuned strings from feeling slinky.
