my tmaxx transmission is slipping wont pull at all took trans apart found no broken gears and the shaft on the spur gear is turning so its not the slipper clutch doesnt make any noise its just not turning the driveshafts help
i have the same problem. the clicking sound. i delayed to fix it, but saved up for metal gears. the most recent think that has broken is one of my main driveshafts. the one to the rear. i have two svage xls now. my tmaxx still runs better than they do.
@PATURMANPLUNGER yeah, i might do the metal gears if I go with a picco, but yeah if tuned properly a t-maxx is faster than the savages which is very dissapointing on hpi's part, but don't get me wrong, I love savages, I would buy one if I had the money but the t-maxx's are made better in my opinion, parts are cheaper and a lot easier to work on, but with cheaps parts comes less durability so I do give the savage a plus on durability, but with good parts the t-maxx is just as durable and faster.

if you want it to shift into 2nd harder, you can spray some wd40 on the 2 speed clutch thing... its easier to just show you... ill make a video if you want
can you help me please? I have a TMAXX and the transmission wont shift. so i decided to convert it into single speed. I am really confused and need help assembling it. thanks-
that would be great! i contacted traxxas and they said i needed a kit. so im gonna order one. but in the mean time i want to know how to re-assemble it. it didnt say that i needed a kit on the website when i copied the PDF to convert it. figures.

yea i finally got my t maxx all cleaned shock all taken apart and filled with the shock fluid then i finally have it out in the snow and it got stuck in a snow bank so i punch the throttle a litttle and the wheels just spin then it slipped out of forward into revers and destryoed the reverse gear and the metal gear inside so i only have the 2 forward gears now. but t still runs good :P
@TRTC360 hey i really don't know. you can go to ur local hobby store or go to traxxas and they will maybe give you a new gear setup if u go through customer support or go to hobby store and ask for metal gears for the smaxx or the tmaxx.
lol this video is really old, at the time the truck didnt have warranty lol, the parts were like 8 bucks no big deal, i got it fixed already and now its running awesome.
you should really get metal. it is more expensive but the gears last over 5 times longer. it is cheaper to get metal because the plastic will break about 5 times before the metal gears break. go into a little debt and it will pay you back. the plastic gears are not five times less expensive. i know what im talking about. the metal gears last so much longer. better choice.

@TRTC360 I agree. Wish i hadnt wasted my money on two savages. one for me and one for my dad. Tmaxx 2.5 was my very first nitro powered truck.
