My thoughts and prayers are with you ThunderShyne. I just lost my right eye to Ocular Melanoma about 2 months ago. I can't imagine losing sight in both eyes like yourself. You're definately a strong woman and I admire that in a person!! I'm sure you'll be just as pretty with your prosthetic eyes as you are now. I hope your surgeries go well and that you can live the rest of your life with little or no pain.
Words don't come easy in this instance. All I can do is send you love and luck for your surgery. This is such a huge step, but it could give you your life back again. It will never be the same, but it could be good in a different way.
I understand you are feeling uneasy about having fake eyes, but once they are in your eyes, you will become accustomed with them eventually. You will still be able to do what you really enjoy like hooping, etc. You can do those after the surgery. We will be praying for your surgery to go well and your healing.
I am sorry about it. I understand how it feels about losing your eyes. If there are no other options to take the pains away, the surgery might be the one to help to take pains away. You don't want to tolerate pains in your eyes, and having a surgery will help taking them away and make you feel better.
Of course it's hard to think about losing both of your eyes. I mean, they are our window on the world. Losing them means giving up on ever being able to see again. I know you've gotten a 2nd opinion but consider getting a 3rd and 4th. This is a permanent life-long decision and there is no going back. Exhaust every possibility first. It's not about looks (you're beautiful no matter what!) but surgeons are quick to do surgery. What if it is in the muscles!?! You won't know til it's too late.
In the past 7 months I have seen SO many doctors, the surgeon only after the decision was made. The have all come up with it being my eyes and only one solusion. I would do anything to keep my eyes and get rid of the pain.
If it is in the eye muscles, they owd have to remove the eyes to remove the muscles, so it would be the same procedure basically, but a different type of prosthetic eye.
I pray every day and I can use all the prayers, love, and light, that I can get. HUGZ
Oh dear! Girl, I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. I wish I had the hand of God and could just heal you up. I think we have these trials so that we can grow stronger and be angels for those who come after us who are also having these trials. I realize that doesn't make it any easier but you are brave and strong and beautiful, with or without eyes. Your beauty emanates from who you are, from your courage and light.
