The novel and background that came with the box have left me wanting to convert the scenario into a Pen&Paper RPG. So much flavor that wasn't really necessary for this rather simple game... good times. I always liked that.
Your all forgetting tho how bad the old mouse was lol one of the buttons would always be broken and need a thousand pounds of pressure per ince to work :)
I loved this game, My brother, two mates and I played it to death, most of the characters were referred to by name, but we always called Cheule 'Sweetcheeks' for some reason...........
I would love to see this universe and characters expanded more deeply. Maybe in the form of a graphic novel because I don't know how you could top this game!
@Byos4902 I always used to take the two combat mechanoids, CIM and CIM-Lite as they can take the most damage, carry the most equipment, and don't need to breath, so can stay under water indefinitely (that's a huge advantage in some levels). Bonden and Kiurcher I think have the next highest Physique stats (i.e. how much damage they can take) I think. Characters with higher Agility (mostly the girls) can survive longer falls, but I find Physique more critical against the tougher enemies later on.
Even now this tune still holds it's own compared with PS2,3 Xbox gaming music
1126thmp agree it was ahead of it's time. I remember Hard coding Copper lists ( Co_proccessor ) myself and programming the good old "Blitter" in Machine Code.
Seriously, if only the physical hardware layer stayed the same in personal computers today, then we wouldn't have this 640/1024kb pipe to squeeze through!
I always remember watching this game and never playing it - when we had our amiga I was a little too young to get it (I was about 4 or 5!) but I loved the look, the idea, the music. Now I'm tracking down a place where I can "get a hold of it". As I love retro gaming and wandered what this would be like!
Christ this brings back memories - loved this game back in the day. Remember many days lost playing this with 2 mates around a keyboard vying for control lol.
I think a major factor is that there's so many people (and money) involved in games development today. HG was done by just a few people, primarily one guy if I've understood it correctly.
Wow....one guy! thats amazing! The amount of time and skill, effort needed to pull this off by one person...thats a true achievement in my books! Okay...so more people involved in the development process means the single developer intensity & idea can often get diluted and lost ...leading to lackluster games being produced?

0:31 CYBORG!
which means it once was a human , and therefore must've been born with a specific gender , learn the difference :P

Okay... I was looking at the Mech..
MIYRIEL TORRE Born 2612, New Europe.
Miyriel led a very sheltered and otherwise uninteresting life for a long
time. When she was informed that she was wasting slowly away from a
rare disease for which there was no cure, she immediately squandered
the entire family fortune on getting a complete body replacement. Essen-
tially she is now a cyborg. Her brain is all that's left of the original but it
remains as sharp as ever.

aw D8 , poor girl :'c

@robotwo The novel that is included with the game gives ample hint that Miyriel is female.

Fantastic music and atmosphere...all the manuals you got with the game added so much to it. they don't make 'em like this anymore..
