No question about it, DDDowney. Ken Lucas actually lived in my apartment complex with Rick Morton When they wrestled for this promotion in San Antonio. Ken Lucas was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet, and so was Rick Morton. I actually visited Rick Morton a few times, and he was very nice, but now I know they really protected the business, so nothing about wrestling was talked about. They were great guys.
this is wrestling, back then wrestlers actually wrestled. all the storylines took place either in the ring or by the announcers table, none of that backstage horrible acting soap opera BS.
the late great jack brisco SWORE by ken lucas, he felt kenny had WORLD CHAMPION ability - judging by what i'm seeing here, he'd of been a great 'face champion ...
He was better at this federation than he was in the AWA. Even won a championship in the Southwest region when the Minneapolis area didn't do it for him. Aggressive, energetic and competitive wrestling style that he had. And remarkable pin after being clubbed by Greg Boyer at the match's final minute!

Thanks!!!!!1
Ah yes, Grenade Boyer, he was designed as almost a monster heel. I remember something he did (not sure if it was in SW or in Houston Wrestling) where he broke a bunch of boards with his head.
BTW, did he later become Mike "The Hippie" Boyette?
