  • Did anyone else notice those ridges or channels on the lower portion of the left side of the tail? Would anyone be able to tell me what they might be?

  • @Lethargy281

I'm guessing those are remora fish hitching a ride

  • I wish I could go diving with these beautiful creatures...

  • Just another wonder God created.

  • @SoulReaperSlayer19 How smart of 'god'! :-) He must have worked a lot to figure it out. "oh I made small fish, now I make bigger! HAHA! I'm so smart!"

  • Holy smokes! ...Spectacular capture! ...that's solid evidence of gentleness in the shark species...congrats to the divers it must be an experience of a lifetime

some interesting flipper work ...some quite effective too

  • this is how big megaladon was, imagine this fucker except like a white shark lol

  • swam with the whale sharks last summer in mexico...beautiful.

  • That's amazing. I knew that the whale shark is the biggest fish, but now I see that it's huge :) Great footage :)

  • cool

  • must be such an amazing feeling for both man and shark, remoras and other followers . like flying in a unified fleet

  • nice that is about as big as a whale shark can get. plus this one is unusually stout i suspect this female pregnant too: she have a suspisious hump in front of her anal fins.... really cool anyway hope i see one that big too one day!

by the way what is this song please?

I remember my first Napoleon wrasse and being excited, but that is just awsome..

Congratulations on your great sighting and thankyou for your brilliant footage..

  • It's massive but it's gorgeous. If it weren't a filter feeder, it'd still be gorgeous but more to be keep a large distance from myself. It's like an under water angel, I'd love to see one wild before I die :)

  • if your wondering how big this thing is, just picture an 18 wheeler trailer, its "about" that length, imagine swimming next to something that incredibly big

  • AWESOME! it would be totally heaven to swim with a massive creature with that. did you get to hold onto it?

  • @MaxMohrmann if you break its mucus layer despite the skin being 4in thick the skin could become infected best if you dont touch it

  • i dare 1 of the diver to go in the mouth ey..lots of this whale in philippines..i dunno nothing bout them..but i think its the water there that they like

  • not often you find one that wide or long

  • man,,, thats massive kind of creature,, awesome.,

  • if that were me, I'd hop on his back and take a ride for a while. :D

  • Reminds me of Heaven

  • Same here. Already booked the same trip in 2010. Wish me luck for a repeat.

  • Have fun in Mazambique..Is it Tofo where u r going ? whaleshark, mantas, other sharks etc... will be there 4 u

  • omg, I would be speechless for the rest of the day, btw what is the name of this song? its perfect for this epic video

  • "clocks" by coldplay

  • That must have been incredible to swim next to an animal like that.

I saw some of these at the Georgia Aquarium and they were awesome, but it's not the same lol.

  • wow thats an amazing animal, the other day diving at fujeirah (martini rock) i saw one, we followed it for awhile at the surface, it was no where near that big though, ours was only 5m that animal is amazing though. so gentle too, amazing how the largest creatures on our planet seem to be the most gentle

  • So beautiful. It's one of my great life dreams to see a whale shark on a dive...

  • And we will this winter, just you wait! Thanks for recommending this one, you were right; it was awesome!

  • you will? How extremely awesome! Will you film it too and set it on youtube?

  • ''exellent''

  • ... Good thing they don't have a taste for humans

  • wow...

  • not as big as my penis

  • dude, seriously...

  • haha good one!

  • omg lol you justify the video very well with clocks. :) I can't wait till I go diving.

  • nice.... "clocks"

  • The whale sharks are migrating vast distances for food and as a result criss-cross shipping routes so it is very rare to see a 45ft.

  • wow thats Gods work at hand theres proof! look at the size!

  • That's the proof of evolution at work.

  • HOLY CRAP THAT IS ONE BIG WHALE SHARK!

  • larger than the great white shark but its completely harmless to the diver.

  • Whale sharks are such breathtaking creatures. It's quite amazing to think of a fish being that large. Excellent video.

  • That's a big f*cker. Bet, you could have used a scooter on that dive.

  • what an amazing creature. I spotted one 6m whale shark a couple of days ago. although it wasn't as big but it was a whale shark nevertheless. :)

I'll post up my video soon.

  • I always been afraid of the Oceans cuz of these animals :S

  • me too! D:

  • Why? Whalesharks are harmless, they eat baitfish and plankton.

  • i is afraid of giant shadows swimming below me cuz of jaws >:( but all my fears aside whale sharks are amazing :P

  • When you see videos like this you just see how much more things there are to the world, the ocean animals are truly amazing

  • awesome creature, I wish i could see and dive with a whalseshark like that =D

  • DAMN THAT SHIT IS HUGE!!!!!!

  • wow! it's too big. the whole mouth can swallow a person

  • Wow! So far the biggest things I've seen in my dives are Manta rays. I hope one day I'm lucky enough to see something as awesome as that.

  • this is just what i needed to proove to my french cousin that there was such thing as a gentle shark

  • mezmeriszing

  • Great video! You did an excellent job giving a sense of the scale of that shark. Nice footage!

  • Not my credit. 2 [not 1] dive masters of the Aggressor Galapagos took this from 2 angles at different depth.

  • Hmmm i c now if u eat little fish all ur life u can get this big also ill try that lol.

  • How can i grow this big? it's only eating plankton right?

  • Yes. Similar diet as a whale but whaleshark is not a mammal or any kind of whale. It is a fish - the world largest fish.

  • OMG THAT IS ONE BIG MOTHER EFFIN SHARK Nice vid.

  • ahhhh, the beauty and mystery of God. What a wonderful being..they are so beautiful.

  • I like the end when they're cheering. :)

  • beautiful filming. beautiful animal. your so lucky to see that and get footage of it. what type of camera was it?

  • Taken by "two" experience dive masters from 1 up & 1 down position in the Galapagos. They stitched the footage from both angles. Almost a guarantee to see them during whaleshark season between July - Sept. 2 liveaboard dive boats - Aggressor & Sky Dancer go there.

  • Fabulous! Never been to Galap - hate diving in cold water. Great Vid!

  • ZOMG!... only word I can think of

  • WOW! Is truly all I can say. I am going to the Galapagos from November to December, although, I a only have snorkeling gear. I really with I had some scuba diving equipment now. The whale shark is truly a magnificent creature.

  • This is freaking amazing.. Masterly animal. No words suffice. Just oi

  • This is a gorgeous animal. You just can't beat the beauty of nature. One word: Majestic.

May I ask the name of the song?

  • Glad you enjoy the video. The song is Clock by Cold Play.
