Media malpractice is nothing new sad to say, I cut mainstream media out back in 2004 and the cable networks are insidious, reduced mainly to commentary. I'm conservative in my views so I tend to listen to talk radio and connect the dots best I can. In spite of what's been said about Fox news by the other networks I view them most favorably and have not caught them out right lying like msnbc or cbs

You know, they never had to lie about that kind of news production. Newspapers have been doing it since writing was invented. It's called 'freelancing'. No, that's not the big mean menacing pejorative word everyone would want to use, but that's essentially what's happening here. Our Fox affiliate here in Detroit is really obvious about it. If you can't figure out which stories in the local Fox news here are prop pieces, you deserve to be taken for a ride. What I hate now are commercials that take on the look of news reports. With lines like, "This just in," or "Breaking news," etc. and they have the desk with the 'anchor-person' and even a ticker running along the bottom, and everything is said in serious tones like this advertisement was put together by some official body, but it's just someone trying to sell you home insurance or whatever..

One problem with media is even if you do not believe it, people around you do, and SNL makes jokes about it, and then its talked about like fact. it propagates itself into school reports, books written, comedy, movies etc. The lie is perpetuated by uneducated participants.

Also when your only view comes from the media, even if you refuse to believe it, its your ONLY view. So you either admit "I know nothing since they lie" or you think "well there is a little truth to it" which often is false.

UK Example of a fix: MSN reports obeity on the rise, displays a 'fat map', on checking it out, bloke who did study was commissioned by a corp who sell diet pills. Bloke had a cert (grrr) in psychology and was computer analyist who proir worked for pharma co, yet sounded SO 'informed'. Pharma who commissioned the study make diet pills with heavy side effects., some instances of law suits. Easy to verify. Google 'fat maap uk' and back engineer the story. Its a worthwhile task on any news story.

my inbox no longer works for some reason. it changed format and all i get is this spinny wheel. i got hurt so bad last night. it was a commercial for the new speed racer movie. it was this blast of light. i was looking right at it when it happened.

i was very upset by this, had a hard time sleeping and had pain behind my eye for atleast 12 hrs. this was the worst pulse yet. i want to protest the opening of the movie to attempt to generate awareness it was that bad. i'm actually scared i got hurt
