Tobe Hooper signed a dodgy deal with a shady production company to finance TCM. The company then basically stole all the money that TCM made and gave the actors crumbs.

The music this vid starts with is in the original TCM. It is so cool and creepy. IMO, I think its kinda underrated as a horror soundtrack. It worked well in the film!
Big thanks for the interview. He actually shows off some of his novels he's written if you look at disc two of the Ultimate Edition of TCM 1 on DVD here in North America.
Anyway he's such a talent, and I love that he hasn't been (or doesn't seem to be) talked to death at this point about past projects, including TCM.
