Watching this video gave me that thrill/chill in my stomach, and that my friends is what games are meant to do. Take you on an adventure. A thrill ride. Most games don't accomplish this anymore. But Crysis does. And mind you, that is only from WATCHING it, and not even playing. : )
I need help. I plan on getting an Asus g74sx gaming laptop. I realize that some people like crysis 2 more, while others prefer crysis 1.....so.....which game should I get? Crysis or Crysis 2?
@MrAmericanidiot1995 get crysis crysis 2 is bad, also build a pc if your going to start pc gaming although asus does good gaming laptops you could build a 5x better desktop pc for the money.

@RazorGTM Maybe not on Ultra settings because I'm not sure of the sheer power of the gtx 460 but you could probably run it on medium/High settings and still get good frame rate just put anti aliasing on x4 and if its too slow take it off

If so, that is entirely wrong. There are many PC's out there that can run Crysis like minesweeper. Perhaps the next Xbox will be capable of playing Crysis on max settings. But it can only be compared to today's PC. Technology moves fast and PC's always get better. The Xbox will never match the PC of its time period.
@SSBMsounds I meet once a developer many years ago that tall me the industry of pc hardware didn´t give them enough time to optimize their engines. They were changing hardware before they could really master and squezze their developer tools. That´s why on 6 year old hardware (consoles) we are having bettter and beetter loking games. Look the first ME, then ME2, Look the first Battlefield bad company and BF3. Or Unreal engine (i never like it) but look at gears 3. Or the cryengine3.
Crysis 1 even today has the best graphics and better gameplay than all FPS, and Crysis 2 has better graphics than Crysis 1 Because its DX11 its also very fun to. The console version of Crysis 1 and 2 both look like crap, PC is the best

This game is just a benchmark and no more. Ok, he's beautyfull, but after 4 o 5 years, he need always an alien computer for run correctely at maximum settings.
I have GTX 480, CoreI7 940, Seven 64 full and 6 go ram, the last drivers, and if the game run correctely with ultra high settings, i need limit AA to X2 and resolution to 1600 x 900 or this is unplayable. This game need the next generation of hardware, again. And he don't have the better gameplay -i prefer Stalker.

Why does everyone think Crysis 2 has worse graphics? They are so much better! Has anyone played Crysis 2 on max settings with the DX11 upgrade and hi-res textures? It's ridiculous! I think people just miss the awesome, awesome jungle environments from Crysis 1. I wish Crysis 2 still had a jungle setting, too, but it definitely does have better graphics now.
@Genmills The "Crysis 1 is better than Crysis 2" argument isnt really about graphics mate, its about the gameplay. Crysis 2 was a very linear experience, where Crysis 1 was not.
The console version is really dumbed down and looks more like low-medium with a extremely low view distance , crysis 2 looks good because of its very limited gameplay area and better optimization . In other words crysis 1 requires much more processing power (To run and look the way it was supposed to run) which is currently not there on the consoles.

@ultimateps31 No freaking way lol. I fully support Crysis 1 on demand. I got it immediately on xbox and beat it in 3 nights. I loved every second of it. That said, it does not look ANYTHING like this on xbox. This is why I still plan on buying a pimp PC one day to play this game at max settings.

@babbersabber i think not. yes, we will have games with better graphics and yes the environments will be even larger. but think about this. in 5 years time, the ps4 and xbox 720 will have barely released. developers want their games to run on consoles and pc so the leap in graphics won't be to great. not only that but crysis 1 went for realism, it would take developers a LONG time to make an engine to support fully photo realistic textures from the start.
Look the trees, leaves, the lighting. Never saw a game with amazing fidelity as this. They are making "minor" tweaks for the console. This means it won't have pc max settings. I just want it to look crisp like I see it here.
Remember how ugly the cloaking looked on Crysis 2. Curious if Crysis 1 on consoles have the same cloaking transparency as the pc.

Yea you can change the scope as well as other attachments in Crysis 2. As for Rating Crysis currently has a score of 91 on Metacritc the score is averaged from 56 different reviews. Which means its a Damn good game.

@SuperTwoSeven crysis 1 is comming to ps3/360 in october. not only that but crytek said that the console version will be BETTER then the pc version (without mods ofc). i wonder if that's true, but i doubt it. even if the tech they used is better, crysis on pc still has the advantage in resolution, AA, fps, and just overall performance while a lot is going on. still the screenshot realeased of the 360 version did look very good.

Now this is just my opinion but suppose Crytek just could not allow a 4 year old game look grapically superior to a 6 month old game. They dumb down the graphics on Crysis to prop up Crysis 2.
@SuperTwoSeven it is possible for crysis 1 to look better then part 2 on console. crysis 2 was their first console game, so ofcourse they now have done a few tweaks here and there and have more experience. i do think however that crysis 1 on console will look about the same as crysis 2, the most notable diffrence will be the scale of the map, since crysis 1 wasn't very linear and crysis 2 is. maybe also a boost in performance.
@SUp3rB4D145 it depends, all ps3 and 360's have the same graphics, so u can't go higher than a certain level, with pc, the graphics cards capabilities are always changing, which means, depending on how expensive your computer is, you can run a game twice as well as a console
@StrongBULLHEADED Crysis is close to being open world where as uncharted 2 and crysis 2 is a linear path and therefore only needs to render whats infront of the path.
i can't believe this game is 5 years old, it still looks amazing, graphic-wise.

Was the original Crysis a good game? I only played Crysis 2 on console and hated it, but this looks different. Less like a Call of Duty clone.

Could I play this game on my laptop on low or medium settings? Lenovo e420 intel i5, 4gb of ram, thou it won't say what the graphics card is beside it being part of the intel graphic series.

Yea you can change the scope as well as other attachments in Crysis 2. As for Rating Crysis currently has a score of 91 on Metacritc the score is averaged from 56 different reviews. Which means its a Damn good game.

@SuperTwoSeven crysis 1 is comming to ps3/360 in october. not only that but crytek said that the console version will be BETTER then the pc version (without mods ofc). i wonder if that's true, but i doubt it. even if the tech they used is better, crysis on pc still has the advantage in resolution, AA, fps, and just overall performance while a lot is going on. still the screenshot realeased of the 360 version did look very good.

@gtafan110010 Is it possible that Crysis looks better than Crysis 2 on the console? This is entirely possible. Now this is just my opinion but suppose Crytek just could not allow a 4 year old game look grapically superior to a 6 month old game. They dumb down the graphics on Crysis to prop up Crysis 2.

@SuperTwoSeven it is possible for crysis 1 to look better then part 2 on console. crysis 2 was their first console game, so ofcourse they now have done a few tweaks here and there and have more experience. i do think however that crysis 1 on console will look about the same as crysis 2, the most notable diffrence will be the scale of the map, since crysis 1 wasn't very linear and crysis 2 is. maybe also a boost in performance.

@SUp3rB4D145 it depends, all ps3 and 360's have the same graphics, so u can't go higher than a certain level, with pc, the graphics cards capabilities are always changing, which means, depending on how expensive your computer is, you can run a game twice as well as a console
