  • Klingons singing their traditional victory song in a Romulan POW camp... Yeah. That's not going to worry the Romulans at all. /sarcasm

  • Poor Ba'el :(

  • 8 people have no honor

  • Klingons - Coolest species in the galaxy - Even if sex with them can be dangerous / deadly !!

  • Where is the entire song? It seems that the singing was continued. Did Worf interrupted it or something, in this scene, so this is all there is?

  • @PastitsiosGR if i remember right it was interrupted by the romulan who owns the prison camp who's name seems to elude me for the moment :)

  • @PastitsiosGR Nah, it just fades to black without finishing. No idea why lol

  • anyone got lyrics? memory alpha surpisingly doesn't have them

  • was this supposed to show that multiculturalism doesnt work?

  • @doctorw2 Evidently, on the large scale: It does not. You'll never have many coexisting on the same ground in a working enviorment. Thos for which it does work, they have already lost largepieces of that other culture, they'd normally belong to. Small groups, yes, that might work - but as soon as large "ghetoos" can form you can forget it.

  • @doctorw2 No, but that making people follow your own standards and culture instead of their own doesn't work.

  • @doctorw2 Only when you force it on others and deny them their cultural heritage.

  • ZOMG THAT GUYS PLAYS BLUEBELL FROM THE MOVIE 'THE TENTH KINGDOM' XD this is wild haha

  • Klingons sing and Romulans look for a kind of drums or bass guitars.

  • Should probably be pointed out there are a hell of a lot more people out there actively speaking Klingon than there are speaking Latin...

  • @Edymnion that doesn't make them educated.

  • @youresoshain, technically, every language is made up or created, it just happens that klingonese came from the mind of one or a handful( idk if he wrote it all himself) and is not as popular as English or Spanish, lol obviously. But they translated the bible and even Shakespeare to Klingon. In short, Klingons and their "made up" language kicks arse to a nerd like me.

  • @4everKingdomHeart , Klingon Hol is primarily, if not entirely, the work of one man, Marc Okrand. Interesting fact, Klingon is never an "-ese". If you must refer to the language specifically, simply ad "Hol" to the end.

    But I do agree. :)

  • @QuantumMechProd Not true. In TOS it is refered to as Klingonese. I can not remember specifically, but I THINK they also do once in a TOS movie, and in Enterprise.

But yes, you are right, if refering to the language specifically, you either say Klingon Language or tlhangan Hol

  • I'm not a Trekkie, so can you explain why everyone else except the Klingons look pissed? Great tune though

  • @calza13 They're inside a Romulan POW camp. Most of the Klingons there were raised in the camp from infancy with little to no knowledge of their Klingon warrior heritage, which was how they Romulans liked it. However, at some point, Worf and some other Klingons came to the camp and began teaching them Klingon ways, which pisses off the Romulans because the Romulan and Klingon empires are at war.

  • @2wingo cool, thanks :D

  • @2wingo Actually, its just Worf who came to the camp and the girl, at one of the tables, is the Romulan commander's daughter by a Klingon mother. He'd didn't rape her, they are actually married.

  • @weldonwin But I was otherwise correct, right?

  • lol yh i wouldn't want to ruin it for someone too. i watched it about a month ago i think. it was a very moving episode

  • Note that all aliens speak with an American accent.

  • @thefartydoctor Or, as suggested in one episode of Voyager, there was an active translator device in the room (the Flotila has them integrated in the comm badges. Here it is something different probably.) so the accent and English language when they speak is provided via the translator device. (Or, of course, every alien in universe learns English :P )

  • @thefartydoctor and if they bothered to create a language and accent for every species you'd be the first one complaining when they don't pronounce something correctly. be reasonable, it was a weekly series with a limited budget.

  • @youresoshain I don't see why most American writers are so stupid that when they write a Sci-Fi drama, suddenly all invading alien forces are suddenly American. At least Doctor Who made an excuse for the blatant English accent. Plus, if you watch Lost, there's a series with at least a little consideration for people who happen to live outside of America. The problem was not the budget- it was the actors who couldn't be bothered to do the accent right.

  • @thefartydoctor Yeah, that would make sense, if, say, IT WAS A REAL LANGUAGE. I'm not sure if you're aware of that fact considering the absurdity of this debate, but the language of which you demand linguistic authenticity does not exist, so any accent is correct, because there are no Klingons to tell us otherwise. By the way, the Klingon language was invented by an American. What science fiction did the British create, besides a murderous alien cyborg garbage can with a toilet plunger?

  • @youresoshain This debate is far more than absurd, it's pathetic. All I'll say is this- when you write a drama, you want the characters to be as realistic to their role as possible and to me, nothing says alien than an American accent. Doctor Who says that we hear British English because of the translator circuits. An American would hear differently and to be honest with you, I can't be arsed to have this conversation with you because you're obviously misunderstanding what I'm saying. :-)

  • @MrsJasonDarr Amen

  • why r there romulans there?

  • @invisiblejaguar1 it was a hidden romulan interment camp where survivors from a battle (I believe the one where Worf's father died) lived in peace with their captors. Worf awoke their inner Klingon when he arrived in camp looking for his father.

  • oops, sorry, the last one gone twice

  • Ya-zjah kay-oh bah-dah too-moh Sho-jah doo-roh Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kay-oh-ooo Mah dok, u-do jih dok, mah zjoo Par dok, cha-bah! bu-rak, chu-qa Telbar nay-goo Moo-go toh-doo Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kayoh-ooo Boh-naj ya-deetch Not-veer bah-reech Key-jol kel-baj keh-dah oh-kie Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kay-oh Ya-zjah kayoh-ooo
  • they have some of teh best songs....

  • Klingons are the best. The savage, barbarian warriors of TNG and DS9, the cultured and refined (although sinister) General Chang and every (ridged) klingon in between, they are the best aliens in Star Trek.

  • That song is amazing I am practice that song so I can remember it in the fucture.

  • Qoy qeylls puqloD! Qoy puqbe'pu'! yoHbogh malthbogh je' suVwI seq moHchu' may' Iw'.

  • those Romulans look pissed

  • @BaronVonKenny Romulans look always pissed XD

  • @Dreifuffzig Says the guy watching obscure Star Trek videos. :)

  • @Dualhammers woops! Didn't see your comment before replying to Dreifuffzig

  • @Dreifuffzig theeennnn why are you watching a star trek vid??

  • They used this in Star Trek Online too

  • It was actually a Klingon lullaby before it was turned into a Rah-rah/Victory song.

But, as it turned out, the setting suited it.

  • lol, im right looking this episode on tv ^^

    Klingons FTW !!! >>:-D

  • I hate romulans they have a very limited perception of all acts and consequences...

  • Comment removed

  • lol leonard nimoy was so funny

  • are they called Klingons because they hold on to their tribal ways? hmm

  • I like this.. and I didn't watch Star Trek... It's about being real, true and authentic... not conforming to phony constructs made by our oppressors.

  • The funny thing about this segment is that the one Romulan who is standing there appears to be wearing blue jeans. Weird!

  • This song pumps me up and gives me the inner strength to leave the house. I feel I am a Klingon inside... a strong warrior and the world is mine for the taking. Ylja, Qey' 'oH!!!!!

  • what episode is this!

  • @trekeee don't know the name of the episode, but the Enterprise goes to DS9 and Worf ends up finding the Klingons captured in the battle of Khitomer,

  • @trekeee series 6, episode 17 - Birthright, Part II

  • Klingons! But where's Uranus?

  • look at those romulans... they have no honor

  • One romulan looked like he was going to throw up

  • @spacegeeks3 must have bean something he ate. Shoot id throw up too.

  • Lol the romulans are like o.0

  • ROFL at all the Romulans sitting there like wtf????

  • @boxa1500 I always thought they were like, "OMG, this ain't good for us!"

  • The klingongs look like Turk-Barbarians

  • yljesh Quy' 'oh what does that mean anyway?

  • excuse me, Qey not Quy. Sorry still beginning.

  • @154itachiuchiha

In terms of proper Klingon, this song is jibberish. I'm sure it's supposed to mean something in the canon.

  • Hi!I just ove EVERYTHING about Klingons and their culture(unlike Romulan swine's)Quapla!

  • i'll never trust a klingon, not for the death of my son

  • Ah Star Treks way of saying lets get some Zulu warroirs in the same room as KKK clan members and see what happens!....(um , may have had a diffrent outcome)

  • Haha, bara satt och ville lyssna på sången med min syrra. Coolt att du laddat upp den, sökte bara på star trek birthright song. xD Väldigt nice!

  • LOL! The expression on that one Romulan's face was priceless-- like he was taking out some garbage and it was particularly smelly.

  • I prefer the vulcans

  • youre mom

  • Allamerain, count to four...

  • majQa'

  • maj doch Sid ghos nagh

  • Yah jah Quayoh, son!!!

  • Kapla! What can I say!

  • Watched this on TV yesterday, just proved my nerdiness by singing and knowing the words :D

  • nothing wrong with that

  • Yeah, Moari are awesome, I saw the "Deadliest Warrior" episode that featured them. XD

  • Well, they weren't given a proper Klingon upbringing, so yeah, sounding wussy unfortunately is a distinct possiblity. -_-

  • You should be scared? Are you fucking retarded? It's a VICTORY song. You sing it AFTER the battle. Who the fuck do you want to scare stupid fuck?

They don't pound the tables because they don't know klingons, and aren't drunk.

  • The look on Worf's face is priceless. lol

Worf to Tokath: "I got your ass now, bitch!"

  • maj

  • majQa '

  • the guy playing the young klingon was a very convincing klingon, one of the few who didn't look completely ridiculous with the head ridges. Too bad he wasn't in the show more than once.

  • To come up with a completely made up language and to make a song from that and actually sound quite good takes serious talent.

  • yay! :D klingons are my fave aliens second to vulcans! :D

  • @Raintalon89

    klingons suck :)

    jem'hadar ftw!

  • @querschnitt Hab SoSlI' Quch!

  • Who ever wrote the music for the Klingon songs did a great job. They are simple, but effective.

  • super songs

  • i don't know why every time i see klingons forehead i feel irritated

  • I love how stuck up the Romulans are haha...I know they probably do not know how the song goes but they look so stuck up and it is just funny

  • is it just me or do romulans look almost exactly like vulcans?

  • Romulans and Vulcans are related...so yeah they always looked similar though

  • oh ok

  • there is a slight difference n the face but not much friend

  • oh ok

  • When Vulcans started to become "logical", a group of Vulcans didn't agree with the idea so they left Vulcan, and eventually they ended up on Romulus, and became the romulans.

  • awesome

  • they were called the Te vikrum

  • romuluns are vulcan's distant cousins.

  • romulans ghaj ghobe' quv

  • haha this is great.

  • Recall that most of the Klingons have grown up outside of their culture.

  • At the time I'm downloading over 600 Megs of Star Trek Soundtracks :) It's The Intro from TNG, Voyager, DS9 and all other Star Trek Soundtracks hehe :)

  • This part is from Star Trek TNG Birthright, when LT Worf is seaching for his father, but finds some Klingons on a Romulan camp hehe :) I have this movie on VHS hehe :) I have for some weeks ago found Star Trek Transcript :) Not some fake manuscript from Star Trek, but real :) Write me a message if you want the web site adress for it because I can't mention it here folks :/

    I Love it.

  • lol the romulans r like omgwtfbbq

  • i bet the romulans r like holy shit

  • I just watched that episode on TV :)

  • awesome video,, my fav episode.... klingons find the warrior within themselves.. could you post the whole scene of them singing this song.. it cuts off half way thru... mahalo..

  • Acctually, this is the whole scene (even though they end in the beginning of the second verse).

Very glad you liked it though :D

  • thanks for posting this. ahh nice to listen to klingons on youtube

  • Anybody know where I can find "Aktuh and Melota"?

  • Yes, it's in my video "Star Trek Music 3".

  • Awesome. Particulary all the Romulans just staring thinking "WTF?" God love a warrior culture. Today certainly is a good day to die!

  • I really love this episode since it shows something really rare: Klingons and Romulans living in peace, and that I think truly is beautiful <3 I agree: Today is a really good day to die.

  • It must've been interesting for the writer(s) to think this one through. "We've already established the Romulans as pretty formidible fighters themselves. We've also established that they express their emotions as Vulcans do not. Yet they've always acted with such 'Roman' discipline. So what's going to win out here: the passion, or the discipline?"

And then there's Worf, who seems to think the whole lot of them looks silly. :)

  • The thing that both the Vulcans and the Romulans have in common, I think, is their cold distant behaviour. They just both go about it in different ways. The Vulcans suppress their emotions as they prefer to control them which can make them seem like a cold people when really they're not it just comes across like that sometimes.

  • The Romulans do express their emotions but because of their general mistrust of others who aren't Romulans and mostly keeping to themselves within their own space this too can make them seem like a cold people. And we also know that Romulans express their feelings more about their families than Vulcans do. That's not to say that Vulcans don't do that as shown between sarek and spock but Romulans are just more open about their feelings than vulcans are.

  • I'm seriously going to think about taking up hunting as a sport. Just so I can experience the thrill of smelling the prey and letting the blood rush through my body like that...I've been getting to soft as a city slicker... Just becareful not to go hunting with Dick Cheney though lol.

  • fuck you smiley
