@DenimZero An LCD is an LCD regardless of what lights it. These LCD's are the first of their breed and currently only benefit the user in power consumption savings. My family owns an electronics store, I've personally tested dozens of monitor's and I can tell you for a fact that the LED's are not up to par as of now. They have potential but currently do not deliver an ideal picture nor to they provide accurate colors or blacks for that matter. So think what you want; I know the facts.
An LED is still a LCD kid, just with LED lights...... and no it doesn't have deeper blacks or more vibrant colors. Do you research before you talk, I have hands on experience and you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
All the new LED monitors are HORRIBLE compared what currently available. I actually purchased the top model of this asus, its sitting right next to me, its quite horrible. I recently bought a Acer G245H which to my surprise completely destroys it.
@Coolguyuno1 i think it's personal preference, my friend got a new 22 inch LG screen, which i have numbers of friend says they like, but i just hate the way it displays.
hey just got this monitor and i have windows 7 but there is like a 1 inch black strip around the outside. it doesnt fill the screen. how did you change that?
@Dignifycommentary assuming ur using the hdmi cord, it need to change the scaling settings in ur video card driver software, Catalyst for ATI and nvidia control panel for nviida card.
@tricccple it wont let me change the scaling in catalyst. i had to change the resolution. i cant use 1080p and fill the screen. but o well still good picture.
@tricccple no. when i open catalyst control i cant find the scalling options. and im using 1680x1050 because thats the highest resolution that fills my screen. where are the scalling options?
@Dignifycommentary go to catalyst center, and then go to desktop and display section, right clck on monitor 1, go to configure, u should be able to find it there somewhere
I'm very interested in this monitor, but I can't help but fear it suffers from a lower viewing angle. My desk is such that I'm flush perpendicular with my monitor, something with a built in tilt is very scary with how quickly most monitors lose picture at bad angles. Although on first thought, it doesn't seem that difficult to MacGuyver something to prop the circle up and then duct tape it down
@ValeCabron it works for ps3, but you will need to use headphones for audio, or just regular comp speakers or obviously the optical out will still work
Lol, just bought this monitor, arives in a couple of days, hope its good for playing my X-Box 360 on via HDMI cable, it was either this or the LG-W2261V, this one was just so sexy! I couldent resist!

@Catchphrase the angle thing is actually more troublesome to it's placement arrangement.
tricccple 1 year ago
@Catchphrase it has a 160 degree vertical veiwing angle tho so even though your flush the picture is great up to 160 degrees.

Yo big C, nice monitor. It's 40% energy saving because it's LED backlit. That's what explains the 50000:1 contrast ratio and slim profile.
