THIS BALLAD is actually not that bad.........Hope Alanis releases a new CD soon........she hasn't had a new album for quite awhile now..........guess she is probably busy being a new mom............
Damn, I actually remember this, you know I'm a metal kinda guy but it's Alanis. She can do any kind of music she wants and still make it great. Alanis fully can transcend any genre. I am not ashamed to say I listen to this at least once every other day. She's a cool chick!
Alanis, you are one of the most amazing artists ever. I feel blessed having known your artistry. I hope you'll make many more beautiful songs..even in motherhood, may you continue to blossom.
well it was 1992, i think being canadian and catching up to 80's pop ala Belinda Carlisle, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson... this would have been a smash in 1987-9
Wow, never seen this one either. Its weird watching Alanis like this. I actually think this track is ok as a mainstream pop track from the early 90s, but it doesn't begin to compare to her later music which feels more real, has substance and meaning.
her wonderful voice still shines through but it's definitely not her...for me SFIJ defined Alanis, JLP was massive success but SFIJ is her essence, Looove her!!!
It's unfortunate she didn't include the early hits on her greatest hits :( She is loved more than ever by those teen girls who are now in their 30's.
my sisiter unsed to listen this album when i was 14. and 2 years after alanis was my "idol" with jagged little pill..
and then , i realized she was the same alanis!! so i took the album of my sister and i started to listen it too!! yes there is a big different style but i love her voice and personnality!!
Jeeezzz, she might have turned into a Whitney Houston if she hadn´t found where she belonged. But it might have been important to go through that experience. Still, best part of her career...yeah right.
It's amazing the total transition from these earlier power heart-wrenching ballads to songs such as "I See Right Through You" and "You Oughta Know" from Jagged Little Pill. Still have to say all-time favourite album is Under Rug Swept by Alanis!
there are just little specks of her voice now when she does the powerful bit, i find it quite funny to think what she is like now to have done a load of really cheesey videos like this and 'walk away'
I like a lot of songs from her first two albums...but this is one of the few where you can really hear her vocal capabilities. But I always crack up at the point in the video where the song modulates and she's suddenly on the balcony with all of those random sheets strewn across the building ... so melodramatic!
The whispery part is horrible , but the song is great!

"Now Is the Time" is her best album. I wish she had made more albums in the same vein.

Wierd - it's almost country music - or 1970's pop. Really dull compared to her later stuff - Good for her to make such a bold transition.
