  • im so over seeing this fantastic chicken ad

  • how big is that sump

  • i bet that theres alot of uneaten food and fish waste behind that very bad rockwork

  • wow what a clown. this fool makes expert village look like noob village

  • what the *HIt this is crap

  • "Anything you can think of"? Then wheres my whale bitch?

  • @brettgrell550 haha whale

  • He is trying his best to sound like he knows what he is doing all the while he appears like a BIG RED DONKEY DICK

  • expert village is a joke

  • cough T5 cough

basically, if you cant build yourself your not going to want to maintain it or know what to do when 200 gallons of water ends up on the floor.

  • What exactly do you mean by professional? You mean the people who have no clue what there talking about on expert village?

  • obviously if a beginner is going to get into marine, they are going to do there research on how involved you would have to be before u start a marine aquarium

  • If you need to hire a professional then shouldn't be taking it on anyway.

  • looks smaller then 240 gallon unless it go's far back iv got a 8x2x2 witch shits all over that

  • he makes it sound pretty intimidating to start a saltwater aquarium. i think i'll stick with fishville for now. haha

  • he is terrible, please do not listen to most of his advice (for your sakes), its either to promote him, old methods, etc ive watched a few of these videos now really not good.

  • FUCK THIS GUY!!

  • this guy is lying so he can get more business...im 14 and i have a 24, 12, and 175 gallon tanks...all saltwater captive reefs

  • lol i know in marine fish the bigger the tank the less likely something is to go wrong no temp swings or nitrate swings etc.

  • what size water pump do i need for a 125 gl tank with a sump

  • @MOEtivation, a good amount would be 1 that pumps around 1000 gallons an hour. you could combine smaller ones to make it. Any thing a bit lower or higher would also work tho.

    hope this helps!

  • thanks

  • now i'm gonna jump in and feed em'

  • next thing on the list... sea lion and whales :D

  • has anyone ever found expert village helpful?

  • yeah when i wanna laugh...they really are HORRIBLE.

  • no i have not emokid.

  • no they're useless

  • How to set up a reef tank: hire me to tell you how hard it is and why you are a moron for wanting one. Stupid video.

  • so i am a moron for wanting a reef tank one day just because i stoped and watched this vdio and i would not need you to know how hard it is stupid comment.

  • Don't be retarded. Read my comment again and realize it was directed at the guy in the video. The video contained no useful information.

  • he has a tank already cant you see no need to get mouthy if it says"why you are a moron for wanting one" he has one not wants one.

  • Clearly we are not communicating.

  • i understand you %100 you said "why you are a moron for wanting one" he has one right there if he has one why would he want one you cant want what you have

  • "why you [the viewer] are a moron for wanting one". It was a change in point of view. My objection is that this guy is telling viewers that it's too hard to make a reef tank when in fact it just requires some research and planning. To then title your video "How to Set Up Aquariums" and offer no information is stupid.

Don't know if I can make it any clearer.

  • why is this in the 'How to set up aquariums' section??? this is a show off on their big balls tank.

ok so you got a big tank with no biological filtration, that is your first shortfall in showing off.

  • This guy is a douche yes, but the LR is the bio filtration.

  • Yeah, but LR is the biological within any tank as 99% of marines have LR. although amny have a sump with biological.

  • What a joke. This guy doesn't talk about how to set up a tank. He basically tells you that you can't do it. Expert Village is weak.

  • if you want to set up an aquarium, you need to become the expert.

the local fish store employees and most owners ae not experts, nor do they truely care about you fish, just your money.

join reef central, or a similar forum, and talk with real experts!

  • your so right, ive been into reef tanks for many years and learned on my own ,reading reef books.ive had more reef tanks than i can count.if you learn it for yourself then you wont have to depend on anyone.

  • I would not hire mark to install my tank since i would need a professional. xD

  • good luck cleaning that if your filter goes xD

  • fuck this guy!!

  • "240 gallon tank- It's a bit like a 180 gallon tank, but a step above".

What, an 80 gallon step perchance? Thanks for that. I failed basic maths at school.

  • The video's title says "how to" then we're told to let an expert do it. I'm interested in hearing more about how to se it up.

  • I was going to say the same thing. Don't show off how 'pro' and custom your tank is. Every tank has a custom plumbing install. Do what the title says. Waste of bandwidth!

  • "very intense, very involved" funny

  • dont the coral take up room for the fish?

  • oh come on its not THAT involving. yeah u gotta know what ur doing but its not rocket science.

  • He loooves that old technology..."box filter"..LOL!! Wet dry!>>LOL...LOL "ambient temp" controlled by chiller!!!..He kills me!!!

  • "you got another box filter down here" lol

  • FLAGED !!!

  • this guy is wack, he wishes he knew what he was talking about, i would never pay these people to make my reef look like that

  • I have a 25g tank that is all set up exept for livestock. What do you reccomend that i stock it with???:.>

  • i agree totally

  • What a misleading title for that video...

  • nice try but i just started a 55 gallon reef tank and im learning as i go and asking questions at local fish stores is all the info i need to keep going well. I now have my 180 gal up and running and i have only been reefing for 8 months it is not that compicating and if you do have trouble seach it on youtube. For people that do dont let this video affect you from buyng a reef, tank lots of fun and you do not need a professional. The only down side is it is pricey! im at 9,000 for my 55 reef.

  • you shouldn't be spending that much on a 55g even with the highest quality equipment... I'm not going to insult anyone, but please don't listen to the pet stores they just try to sell you stuff(I know this from experience, I too wasted a lot of money)... reefcentral is a great site and reading a lot of good books and articles helps!

  • very true, spending excessive money isnt always necessary especially on a small tank like a 55. try to save money by buying used parts or DIY. 9,000 is over-exaggerating.

  • 9000 is soooo over exagerating it isnt funny, most equipment items can be bought off ebay, I only spent 3k on my 120 set up and i have the best of the best in equipment,,all ordered online and that includes 180 pounds of live rock flown in from bali, this guy in the vid is a donkey

  • my advice is to find yourself a good pet store. I go to a man who owns his own pet shop and I set up a 75 gallon fowler with the cost around 1000.I have two canister filters, five 350 powerheads on my ug filter, a good protein skimmer.I have several beutiful fish.I am currently setting up a 20 gallon reef tank and I estimate at around 700 to 900Plus corals arent as sensative as many people make them out to be but they do have their needs and as long as they are met then they sill be fine.

  • i rather have this dude set up my tank then any of you assholes under me

  • I agree.

  • I disagree. With a lot research and dedication anyone can enjoy this hobby without hiring a "professional". Everything he is saying is true though. Except that the lighting isn't "sophisticated". The bulbs of metal halides are, but you don't really need to know too much about that. They go into the socket, which is hooked up to a ballast, which in turn, is powered by your wall outlet.

  • Only because (I'm guessing) you don't have a SW tank if you did and had any experience at all you could tell this guy is a complete idiot....

  • im not so sure hes an idiot, maybe he was just trying to speak like an idiot so other idiots on youtube could understand him.

  • Get a reef tank before telling people how to run there's retard.

People like you go around telling everyone poor information, and they end up going home and killing your fish from what people like you tell them.

    Quit.

  • hw says anemone wrong what a asshole, and he makes reef tanks sound impossible, what a douchebag, its not that hard or sufictacated....

  • sophisticated*

  • what a tool!!!! dude get another job oviously you have no clue of what you are talking about.

  • stupid son of a bitch

  • its just basic stuff how can a begginer learn if they dont do what hes doing to start with he was once a begginer

  • idiot has no idea what he is talking about. The sad thing is that people pay this idiot...

    sad..

  • He dosent even know what he is taking about

  • yep hes gay

  • what an IDIOT

  • For the algae question- I have a 100 gallon tank with a blue tang, yellow tang, and a sailfin tang and not a spot of algae. Before the tangs I had hair algae growing everywhere, suffocating my corals. Within days of the introduction of the tangs it was all gone.

  • man those sailfin tangs are beautiful. i only have a 40 gal tank, but once i upgrade those will be the first fish on my list

  • buy some tang like yellow, lipstick, purple, blue tang will solve the algae problem

  • you can do regular water changes but if your water is not reverse osmosis or deionized water, it will have high phosphate levels and nuisance algae will grow

  • hey does any one no way to get ride of the algae on live rock, i do regulare water changes but its not working can some one help!

  • max, keep up with the water changes, get a few turbo snails and hermit crabs, if its the film algae you should be able to pull it off like carpet with your hand, do this, and then have a ton of flow in that spot. I had the same issue and i did all this and its completely gone now. Best of luck.
