  • hank ....... thats country

  • It depresses me to see what Nashville has done to such a gorgeous heritage of real Country music. I'd normally save my cursing for a Hank3 comment but Taylor swift and the rest of Nashville can die choke on a Fucking cock for what they have done to my countries Heritage.

  • @unherolike

  • @hagblay Who hates him? the greatest of all time

  • Although popular media slate the hell out of the south, they can all fuck off we all know who the greatest humans of all time were southern americans it's the same here in england with northern more poor people even though we produced the beatles and lots more. this hard living is what makes it all possible. God bless hanks soul though.

  • Very true! My night is not that bad. Just lots of stress. Hank gets me through. It reminds me of hanging with my dad ( who is still alive) and singing all of his songs word for word. Great times and Hank always gets me in a better mood. Thanks for the repost.

  • Thank you for being Hank!

  • I would've loved to hear the Louvin Bros. sing this song.

  • lmao....Hank Sr. was a lot of things...but he was NOT gay.....revisionists be damned.

  • cheers boys!!!

  • i love this song but don't fully understand the meaning of it. Please could someone explain to me.

  • @magicrocket123 His "darling" is being transported to town for her funeral.

  • Comment removed

  • @magicrocket123 the guy had a secret lover and because homossexuality wasn't acceptable back then they had to make a funeral 6 miles away.

this song inspired for the creation of the Six Mile Gay Personal service

  • @manzkneves You know then. It was written about your grandfather and his secret gay lover. Glad you took the news ok.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE

You know nowadays there are so many who have came out of the closet people don't really care anymore.

It's ok, you can now come out of the closet too.

    Don't get it? Tough!

  • @BlueMonster78 I would call you a moron, but I don't want to insult morons. And that big blue monster that is in your closet with you can't hurt you. Just show him some of your gay pictures you and your buddies took and that big blue monster will get out of Dodge.

I know you get that, closet boy. Tough!

  • @magicrocket123 The explanition I always thought was she died while she was away on a family matter before they were married. Like they were engaged, and the lady fiance went to Gatlinburg to attend to an ill family member, but died in a car wreck or got ill and died while in Gatlinburg, they transported her body (say the cemetary was six miles away from Gatlinburg.) to the graveyard, and he was singing about how he would never see her no more. Theres an NOT official explanation for the song.

  • it doint get no better then this

  • This is the very first song I sang at school, in the first grade. the teacher called my mom and wanted to know how I knew such a morbid song. of course my mom didn't know. her brother had just got back from service and was living with us. He was a hero in my book and we listened to Hank all the time on our "HI FI"

  • Great Song!!

    Thankyou!

  • I like more the cowboy-hats-free version by The Residents

  • An appreciation of Hank Williams should be a requirement to become a naturalized citizen of the USA.

I don't think it would hurt.

  • @2000toddowen ....i agree..and why not?...its part of our musical heritage....

  • @2000toddowen i couldnt agree more

  • @2000toddowen yes it should

  • @2000toddowen I agree buddy! Hank is getting me through a tough night tonight!

  • @jermdog7777777 I thought I was having a tough day today at work, until I saw one of the gals there whose son was in a bad motorcycle wreck last Friday.

It made me feel sellfish that I'd worry about scrapping a part{I'm an aerospace machinist} and getting yelled at by my boss. That's something that will just roll off my sholders within an hour.

Hang in there, buddy. And remember that someone somewhere is probably having it worse.

    Probably, I say...but I could be wrong

  • @2000toddowen I will agree as a christian patriot of the U.S.A.

  • @2000toddowen

At least to be southern :)

  • I dont give a crap about genre....this is music straight from the soul. Beautiful :)

  • come back hank, please..

  • THIS is country music

  • Some people just don't like his voice. To me this is the white man's blues, and Hank is our finest lyricist of heartache. Hank you left us to soon, but yet, still, left us so much!

  • One of the best (country)Songs ever! Love it!!!

  • ahhh sing it hank

  • the Hillbilly Shakespere

  • @ricknelms

Yep, that nails it to the core. I was going to say the Hillbilly Hamlet but yours is better! Such an incredible talent for basically an uneducated cripple from the backwoods...He was a genius,,,, a diamond in the rough

  • fantastic!! Thanks for adding the new verse in the description!! WoW!!

  • hank was a great story teller,i grew up on this stuff cus my dad loved hank and even named my older brother hank
